Chapter 7

Penulis: Peachy
Watching that filthy video, listening to Killian's deep grunts and Tessa's shameless moans...

My heart, which I thought was already numb, was violently torn open again.

I had spent the last five days forcing myself to swallow his betrayal, forcing myself to wear the perfect mask.

But seeing him claim I was his life, while entirely emptying himself inside another woman...

It still made me sick.

I rushed into the bathroom, clinging to the toilet bowl, dry-heaving uncontrollably as tears flooded my eyes.

Why? Killian, why did you have to hurt me this much?

Why couldn't you leave me a single shred of dignity!

When the tears finally stopped, the woman in the mirror was pale, but her eyes were as cold as ice.

It's completely over.

The last bit of nostalgia I had for our past was crushed into dust.

At dawn, Killian finally arrived, having promised to stay with me all night.

"Why are you awake so early?" He rushed over. Seeing my swollen eyes, he immediately panicked. "Why are you crying? Are you hurting somewhere?"

He reached out to hug me. Fighting off my disgust, I leaned into his arms.

"It's nothing," my voice was hoarse. I purposely looked down. "I was watching a show. The husband cheated on his wife in their fifth year of marriage."

Killian's body instantly went rigid.

He grabbed my shoulders hard, forcing me to look at him.

"Aria, look at me." His pupils shrank, his eyes flashing with panic. "Don't watch garbage like that. I swear to God, I will only love you in this life."

"Really?" I reached out and gently touched his handsome face.

My cold fingers traced his brow, his lips, and finally stopped right over the artery on his neck.

"Killian, if you ever betray me..." I stared into his eyes, my voice absolute. "I will vanish. And you will never find me again."

Killian's heart jolted.

He grabbed my hand tightly. Then, as if remembering something, a confident smirk returned to his lips.

"Impossible." He kissed my fingertips. "Don't forget the micro-GPS chip I put in your neck. No matter where you hide, I can lock onto you in one second."

He was too arrogant.

Ultimate power and control made him blindly believe that technology and violence could forever cage a woman with a dead heart.

"Since you're so confident, let's play a game."

I pulled away from him, flashing a bright, innocent smile.

"Give me three days. For these three days, I will hide anywhere in Chicago. Once a day. Catch me if you can."

If this was our final goodbye, let it end in the most absurd way possible.

Killian tapped my nose affectionately. "Deal. Whatever makes you happy. But you better hide well, because I'll catch you faster than you think."

Day One.

Wearing sunglasses and a hat, I walked into Chicago's most chaotic underground black market.

In a hacker den smelling of blood and illicit trades, I paid a massive sum of crypto.

Five minutes later, every legal identity, bank account, and medical record tied to the name "Aria" was wiped clean from the national system.

When I pushed open the rusty iron door of the black market, bright sunlight hit the street.

Across the road, Killian was leaning against his bulletproof Maybach.

He wore a black trench coat, holding an unlit cigar.

Seeing me come out, he raised an eyebrow, his eyes flashing with arrogant victory: Look, I found you.

He walked over and rubbed my head. "Hiding in the black market? Baby, that wasn't very clever."

I just smiled and said nothing.

Day Two.

I went alone to the top international law firm downtown.

With senior partners as witnesses, I finalized and notarized the divorce papers I had prepared long ago, and arranged all the execution details.

When I walked out of the corporate building with the sealed envelope...

A familiar black armored car was parked precisely at the bottom of the steps.

Killian stepped out of the driver's seat holding a steaming cup of coffee.

He handed it to me, glancing up at the high-end law firm behind me.

Killian smiled, radiating the smugness of a man who held the world in his palm.

"See? Found you again. But why are you going to such weird places these past two days?"

Aria's POVI let go of his soaked tie. Long Island was completely locked down.Everyone was trapped inside the estate hotel.I walked to the front desk. "Extend my stay." Aria's POV"I won't sign!" He stared at me, his eyes bleeding red from the fever and obsession. "As long as I don't sign, you are still my wife! Aria, I'll die before I let you go!""Wife?"I dropped my leg. I unzipped my bag and pulled out a cold metal tube.I slammed the micro-recorder right into Killian's chest. The pen bounced off him and hit the stone floor. The button clicked, and it started playing. In the dark, quiet cellar, a perfectly clear, filthy voice echoed."Boss... it's so hard... so deep... cum all inside me, please?"It was Tessa's greedy moans, mixed with the sickening slap of skin against skin.I knew that sound too well. I hid that bug in the sofa of his private office right before I left Chicago.Next on the tape, voices from the hallway outside his office played."Let the Boss blow off some steam," an old Capo scoffed. "That delicate Aria has been barren for five years. Tessa is carrying the future heir. We have to protect her. Don't let the Donna find out."Even

Aria's POVWord on the street was that Killian went into sudden cardiac arrest and hit the ER the night I left. But I didn't care to watch the show. His cheap pity plays didn't make my heart skip a single beat. The next morning, I took my team and drove straight to a private estate in Long Island. That night, I sat alone behind a wooden screen at the outdoor lounge. On the other side, my young assistant was gossiping."Nyx, if your husband betrayed you, what would you do? Would you give him a second chance?"I swirled the ice in my glass, my eyes completely dead. "My ex-husband offered me half an empire to marry him, and he still cheated. Dirty is dirty. A second chance won't wash off his stench."Right then, a massive splash came from the deep end of the pool! Water shot ten feet in the air.I stood up slowly and walked around the screen. In the deep water, Killian was sinking in despair. He was in a thin black dress shirt. The fatal wound on his back was clearly still bleeding, turni

Aria's POVThe bulletproof Maybach tore through the Manhattan night.Half an hour later, it pulled up to a hidden, ultra-luxury penthouse."Get out." He gripped my shoulder and forced me into the private elevator. The second the doors opened, I frowned deeply.Every piece of furniture, every rug, even the custom white tea scent in the air—it was an exact replica of our Chicago bedroom from five years ago.Killian dragged me toward the massive bed. With shaking hands, he pointed to a glass display on the nightstand.Inside were charred, blood-stained scraps of paper. The bloody love letters I had tossed into the fire pit before I left two years ago.He had dug them out of the ashes piece by piece and taped them together. Next to them lay our platinum wedding bands."Aria, look." The ruthless Don had tears bleeding from his eyes.Thud! He dropped hard onto both knees right in front of me!"I brought our home to New York. I found all our memories." He looked up, tears tracking down his ho

Aria's POVAfter getting discharged, Killian started groveling. He booked out New York's top Michelin-starred restaurant, claiming to treat me as a "friend.""Get him a bowl of plain oatmeal. Make everything else Mexican ghost pepper spicy." I tossed the menu down, ignoring the man across from me.His back wound wasn't even healed. The waiter brought out a table full of blood-red, intensely spicy dishes, trembling.I picked up my fork, cut into a dripping red taco, and took a bite without blinking."Aria! Don't eat that!" Killian lunged forward and pinned my wrist down. Pure terror and pain filled his eyes. "Are you crazy? You forgot your stomach condition? Even a drop of chili used to keep you up all night in pain!"His voice was shaking, as if he was the one drinking poison.I coldly shook his hand off."Pain?" I wiped my mouth with a napkin, sneering."I am afraid of pain. But I was more sick of eating your bland Italian food and Wagyu every single day. You think you know me? I was
