The class group chat kept filling with pleas for help.

A photo of Chloe Smith covered in blood was being passed around, but I did not even give it a glance.

In my last life, I had rushed to the hospital to save her the moment I heard the news. I never imagined that one act of kindness was the same act as signing my death warrant.

This time, I would not make the same mistake!

Just as I was about to set down my phone, Chloe tagged me in the group chat. Her voice sounded weak in the message as she said, "Professor, I saw you once in a rare blood type group. I don't have much time. If you're willing to save me, I'll do anything you want."

Malice seeped through the recording.

I swallowed down the hatred in my heart and calmly typed a reply: [I'm in poor health and can't donate any blood. Find someone else.]

Chloe did not seem to expect me to refuse. Her next voice message carried a sharp note of accusation, "How bad could your health possibly be? You're a grown man.

"I'm only asking you to donate a little blood. It's not like I'm asking for your life!

"I know you've always liked me. Are you trying to use this chance to take advantage of me while I'm desperate?

"Fine. If you'll save me, I won't mind that you stalked me and took my clothes without my knowledge. I'll even date you!

She sent several voice messages in a row, each one rushed and full of resentment.

However, what she said was no different than throwing several bombs into the group chat at once.

People immediately started to respond. People loved drama, and they never lacked a sense of justice.

After hearing that, everyone in the group rushed to defend her.

[What the hell? This is disgusting. Liam is both a professor and a married man. It's bad enough that he fell for a student, but he even stole a student's clothes? How can he face his wife after that?]

[I once saw Liam holding a woman's clothes and his face was completely flushed. Who knows what filthy thing he was doing? As a fellow professor, I'm ashamed to have someone like him as a colleague!]

As soon as that message appeared, the whole group erupted. Every message cursed at me.

I looked at the username of the person who had sent it.

It was Victor Brown, a colleague of mine who had always hated me and had been competing with me for research funding. In my last life, he had fanned the flames to the point that I had no way to defend myself and could only take all of the abuse.

I could not hold myself back and tagged Victor directly in the group chat: [@VictorBrown When and where did you see me holding a woman's clothes and doing something with them? If you can't answer, that's defamation. I can sue you for that.]

The group chat went quiet for a while, and I sent several more messages, one after another: [Also, who decided that I had to donate blood?]

[This is my blood. I have the right not to donate. If you think refusing to donate blood means taking advantage of someone in crisis, then you go donate.]
