A Few Days Back!!

AUTHOR’S POV

Rowan Langston was halfway out of his office when his phone rang.

He had just shrugged into his jacket, his mind already shifting to numbers, timelines, and a client who hated being kept waiting. Meetings didn’t bother him. People did. Still, he moved with purpose, long strides carrying him down the hallway.

He had just left a meeting room and was heading toward another when his assistant hurried behind him, phone in hand.

“Sir, it’s from the estate.”

Rowan slowed.

He rarely got calls from there during work hours. His brows pulled together as he took the phone. The moment he saw the caller ID, his jaw tightened.

He answered without a greeting.

Whatever was said on the other end made his expression harden. His free hand curled slowly into a fist.

“I’m on my way,” he said and ended the call.

He didn’t explain. He didn’t need to.

“Head to the family estate,” he ordered as they walked fast toward the car.

“But sir, the client meeting in—”

Rowan stopped and turned his head slightly. Just a look.

The assistant swallowed. “I’ll inform Mr. Daniel to take charge.”

Rowan entered the car, adjusting his tie sharply like it had personally offended him. He pulled the cigar from his lips and flicked it out before the door shut. Then he reached into the side compartment, sprayed more cologne than usual, the scent filling the car.

“This better be serious,” he muttered.

———

The estate came into view, the enormous house rising ahead of him—the Langston mansion. A place Rowan had grown up in. A place he had learned to hate. It wasn’t just a house; it was the ground where he had been shaped, sharpened, and broken into the man he was now. The monster they whispered about didn’t appear out of nowhere. This place had made him.

Rowan stepped inside, his fists clenched without him realizing it. Servants lined the hall, bowing as he passed, their eyes lowered, their movements careful. He didn’t slow down. His presence alone parted the space around him as he strode toward the dining room.

It was already full.

Aunts sat stiffly in their chairs. His father was there. And of course, his ever-righteous stepmother, wearing that calm, superior look she never took off. Conversations died the moment he entered. Every head turned. Every gaze landed on him as he walked in, owning the room without trying.

Rowan nodded politely as he passed them, his attention fixed on one person.

His grandmother. The only person that mattered to him.

“Noona,” he said, stopping short.

Shock flickered across his face before he could mask it. She was seated upright, her back straight, eyes sharp despite the frailty of her frame.

The call had said she collapsed.

He bent immediately and hugged her. “I see you are alive and well.”

She chuckled, the sound dry. “Barely.”

Relief loosened something in his chest, though he didn’t let it show.

Before he could say more, hurried footsteps sounded behind him.

“Uncle Rowan!”

A girl rushed in, holding a glass of juice with both hands, her smile bright and eager. She was young, early twenties at most, her eyes sparkling as if she’d rehearsed this moment.

“Greetings,” she said sweetly. “I brought this for you.”

She placed the glass in front of him.

Rowan barely looked at it. He slid it aside without touching it.

“Mia, sit close to your uncle,” his stepmother said smoothly.

Mia’s cheeks flushed as she took the seat beside him.

Rowan’s fingers curled into his palm.

He turned back to his grandmother. “Noona, I have an important client waiting.”

Her brows lifted. “So if I’m not dying, you wouldn’t come see me?”

“That’s not what I said,” he replied calmly. “I have several projects. I was going to visit this weekend.”

She rolled her eyes. “You won’t. You’re too busy running away from your duty and gallivanting with different socialites.”

A few whispers rippled around the table.

Rowan forced a smile. “They’re work associates.”

She snorted. “Work associates that crawl into your bed without any seed.”

“Noona,” he said, his tone tightening. “That’s vulgar.”

“And truthful,” she shot back. “You say you’ll get a wife when you’re ready. Ready when? After my death?”

The room went quiet.

“I know you’ve already found a matching heart for my transplant.” His Noona’s lips trembled. “Take it back. I would rather be dead than stay alive and watch you waste your youth with no family, no wife, no child.”

Rowan moved closer, instinctively reaching out, his hand rubbing slow circles on her back. “I never said I wouldn’t get married,” he said quietly. “I just have things to put in place. I need time and…”

“Then let your cousin handle the company for now,” she cut in. “Focus on getting married.”

Rowan’s jaw tightened instantly at the mention of his cousin. His hand stilled.

“Noona, you know I don’t tolerate filth around me.”

Silence stretched. His cousin was practically staring daggers at him but Rowan didn’t care. He never had.

Then he exhaled.

“Fine,” he said. “I’ll find a wife. Can you stop delaying your surgery now?”

The table erupted in murmurs. Heads turned. Eyes widened. His stepmother exchanged a glance with one of the aunts.

His grandmother studied him for a long moment, then nodded. Tears shimmered in her eyes.

“You see?” she said softly. “It wasn’t that difficult. Your aunts and stepmother can help you.”

“Sure,” Rowan replied, already standing.

He leaned down and kissed her forehead. “I’ll see you later, Noona.”

“You’re not staying for dinner?” she asked.

“I have a client waiting,” he said. “Next time.”

As he turned to leave, an aunt spoke up. “Be a darling Rowan and Mia off on your way. We’ll be staying late. We don’t want to worry her parents.”

Rowan paused.

Then continued walking.

Mia was already on her feet, hurrying after him, a pleased grin on her face.

They got into the car. The door closed. The engine started.

“You know Grandma is very dramatic,” Mia said lightly. “She doesn’t understand that marriage is a big deal.”

Rowan didn’t respond. His head was tilted to the side, eyes closed, his patience thinning.

She swallowed, inching closer. “Not everyone is fit for you, Uncle.”

Her hand slid onto his thigh, slowly making its way up, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

It didn’t get far.

Rowan caught her wrist mid-movement and pushed it away like it burned.

The car screeched to a halt.

“Get out,” he said coldly.

“But—”

He opened his eyes and looked at her.

She froze.

He pulled out some cash and pressed it into her hand. “This should be enough to get you home.”

Her throat bobbed. She had planned everything. Even arranged for a reporter to be nearby. This wasn’t how it was supposed to go.

As she reached for the door, he caught her hand again.

Hope flashed in her eyes.

“Say hi to your parents for me,” he said flatly, letting go.

She stepped out, tears spilling as the door shut behind her.

The car pulled away.

“Where to, boss?” the driver asked.

Rowan loosened his tie, breathing hard like it was choking him.

“To the club,” he said.

  • Obsessed With My Father’s Boss    The ‘Guy’ At The Gate

Rhea’s POVI sat on the ground with my phone in my hand, waiting for it to light up with an apology. Minutes passed. Nothing. Just my own reflection staring back at me from a dark screen. My chest tightened. I knew if I stayed there one more second, something in me would snap, so I grabbed the jacket, wrapped it around my shoulders, and booked a ride. It arrived in under a minute. I slipped on my shoes and walked out with my head down and my heart hollowed out, the exact opposite of how I’d walked in that morning. Even when Rowan’s driver called out for me, I didn’t even look back.I gave the driver no destination, just told him to drive. He must have clocked the look on my face, because he cut the music without a word and let me sit with the silence. Those minutes cutting through New York brought me back to myself a little. I rolled the windows down and let the cold air hit my face until my head cleared enough to remember I had a life to return to. I swung by the beach house, grabbed

  • Obsessed With My Father’s Boss    The Reddest Flag Ever

Rhea’s POVEven as I lay there catching my breath, Rowan excused Ethan and took over. I eventually fell asleep, my body sore from everything. When I finally woke up, my body was tired and heavy, my eyes still thick with sleep, and I was alone in the room. No Ethan. No Rowan.I picked up his jacket and put it on, and that was when I saw a note lying on the table. It was from Rowan. “Went to handle some stuff but got more surprises for you.” Then an ugly, hastily drawn smiley emoji. Was that supposed to make me happy?I crumpled the note and tossed it to the ground. Just then the door creaked open and I clutched my jacket tightly around me.A girl came in with clothes in her hand. “Good day, ma’am,” she said. I swallowed hard. What else did Rowan have up his sleeve? Was this woman supposed to be a surprise, too? Because hell no. “The boss said you’d be needing a change of clothes, and if your body’s aching, there’s a masseuse on standby.”The tension I’d been holding disappeared all at

  • Obsessed With My Father’s Boss    Devoured

Rhea’s POV“Ethan?”I said it in confusion. Ethan didn’t look surprised to see me, instead he did his best to avoid my eyes. I looked from him to Rowan, expecting some shocked expression, something, but he was right behind me, close enough that his breath grazed my ear when he whispered.“How do you like my surprise?”I turned slightly. “Surprise?” I repeated sure I had misheard him or missed something.“I’ve been thinking,” he said, his hand moving to my shoulder, rubbing it lightly. “I haven’t been fair to you. Like you said that day, I have my women. So you should have your men too.”He had to be joking. Any second now he’d laugh, tell me it was a test, something. But what followed was only an awkward silence, thick enough to choke on.“Come on,” Rowan said, reaching for my jacket. “Show him what you’ve got.”My hand snapped to his wrist before I’d even thought about it.“Don’t be like that. I’m sure Ethan would love to admire this lingerie as much as I do.” He said it like it was

  • Obsessed With My Father’s Boss    Red Flag, Favorite Color

Rhea’s POVI stood there, legs still shaking, while Rowan draped a robe over my shoulders and that was that. I pulled it tight around me as we walked out, my mind spinning the whole way. Did anyone hear us? I couldn’t tell from the faces we passed. What I did know was that I was never setting foot in that shop again. We got to the car in no time and my whole body was wrecked. While Rowan made business calls from outside the room, I slipped away for a cold shower and then finally went looking for the phone I had completely forgotten about all day.It took a while. Found it sitting right on the couch, screen lit up like it had been trying to reach me all afternoon. Over fifty missed calls from Lyra. And about ten from Ethan.I set the phone down and took a breath before I called Lyra back. She picked up on the first ring, like she had been sitting there waiting. We talked for a while. She had been worried enough to call my dad, and only after hearing he confirmed I was fine did she sett

  • Obsessed With My Father’s Boss    Vanilla and Vengeance

Rhea’s POVRowan took me to the shower, washed me up gently, then laid me on the bed like nothing had happened. The same bed. I lay there frustrated from not cumming and from all the things I hadn’t gotten off my chest yet, so I made a plan. Sleep first, vent when I woke up.What I didn’t imagine was waking up with Rowan already between my legs, my hips rising on their own to meet him.“Naughty girl.” The vibration from his lips hit my clit so hard I saw fireworks. My body was fully awake before my mind was. My hand flew to his hair, gripping a good chunk of it. It felt like floating, like nothing else existed outside the sensation between my thighs.“Yes… please…” I pleaded, feeling the pressure surge, that release I’d been starved of building to its peak, and just when I was right there, he pulled back.I almost cried. His smug smile as he licked his lips was criminal.“Not yet, little mouse.”I glared at him as he stood and walked to the bathroom. The shower clicked on and I sat th

Rhea’s POVI knew that voice.I turned immediately, my legs almost giving out. There stood Rowan in his full glory, fists clenched at his sides, eyes glaring straight at me.I instinctively hid behind Ethan, but the person I had chosen as my shield stepped forward and walked toward Rowan instead. “Mr. Langston, to what do I owe…” He was barely halfway through his sentence when a hard punch landed on his face. Ethan dropped to the floor.“Thank your father,” Rowan said, looking down at him. “If not for him, you would have lost those hands.” Ethan cowered on the ground in fear, and I was already shaking.“Come here.”That was all. No room for argument, no explanation. Just a simple command. So many questions raced through my head, but right now, surviving this moment mattered more.“I don’t feel like it,” I replied, sitting back down on the bed.“Come here, Rhea. Or I promise, I will drag you out if I must.” His voice dropped lower, and somehow that made it worse.Something about his to

RHEA’S POV“Remove all the cameras in her room, I won’t be needing them,” Rowan had said.I didn’t bother asking about the camera. I mean, who cares? The rest of the week was a dream come true. • Obsessed With My Father’s Boss    Shhhh

RHEA’S POVBy morning I had lost count of how many times we had gone at it. And I loved every bit of it. Rhea’s POV I woke up feeling like someone had used my head for drumming practice all night. My eyes opened slowly, and the first thing I felt was pain sitting right behind them. • Obsessed With My Father’s Boss    Watching My Mr Rowan

Rhea’s POVWatching Mr. Rowan from my bedroom window never got old. He moved like he owned the world, his broad shoulders perfectly fitted in that red shirt, the faint curl of cigar smoke marking his presence. My father walked beside him, talking quietly, but I wasn’t listening. My gaze was locked,
