Sora

The front door is already standing open by the time we get back.

Kade reaches it before I do, holding it wider as I step inside with my overnight bag still clutched in my hand. The familiar scent of home wraps around me and for the first time since the hospital, I feel myself beginning to relax.

No doubt, I missed being home, too bad that feeling doesn't last.

“Ngh... Cam...”

The muffled sound drifts through the house, faint enough that I almost convince myself I imagined it.

Just as I brush it off, it comes again even louder this time.

“...Cam...”

The bag slips from my fingers, hitting the floor with a loud thud that barely registers over the ringing in my ears.

My room.

The sound came from my room.

A thousand thoughts collide at once, each one worse than the last. My pulse pounds so hard against my ribs it hurts, my lungs suddenly forgetting how to work as another breathless moan echoes from upstairs.

No.

There's no way, Cam definitely won’t do that right? We had an agreement, no sex in the apartment and definitely not in my room.

Without waiting for Kade or giving myself time to think, I take off toward the staircase, my feet carrying me faster than my mind can keep up. Behind me I hear him call my name, but it barely reaches me over the roar of my heartbeat.

Whatever is happening in my bedroom...

I'm about to see it with my own eyes.

I shove the door open so hard it slams against the wall, Kade right on my heels.

Cameron jerks violently at the intrusion, instinctively pushing Daisy off him before scrambling to pull my blanket over himself.

Rage explodes inside me.

“Are you insane?” I shriek, storming further into the room. “What the hell are you doing in my room?”

Kade reaches for my wrist, trying to pull me back, but I'm far beyond listening.

My chest aches with every breath.

It's one thing to watch the man you've loved your entire life choose another woman.

It's another thing entirely to find him screwing that woman in your bed.

My fucking bed.

Daisy doesn't look even remotely embarrassed by getting caught.

Instead, she lets out a lazy yawn before draping herself against Cameron's back, absentmindedly tracing circles over his skin as though this is the most normal thing in the world.

“Couldn't you have waited another minute before ruining my moment?” she drawls.

I don't even spare her a glance.

She's not worth it.

My attention locks on Cameron instead.

His face is flushed, his breathing uneven, yet he still can't bring himself to look at me. His eyes darts around the room, landing everywhere except where I'm standing.

“I’m talking to you, Cam.” My voice cracks despite my best efforts to steady it. “We had a deal.”

“I...” Cameron stammers, finally forcing himself to meet my eyes. “I didn't know it was your room.”

For a second, I genuinely wonder if he's lost his mind.

“What the fuck do you mean by that?” I snap, throwing my hands into the air. “The deal wasn't about my room, Cameron. It was about not fucking in the house!”

He opens his mouth, but no words come out.

“This is his house though,” Daisy says with a careless shrug, sounding more amused than apologetic. “Technically, we didn't break any rules.”

Every muscle in my body tenses.

God.

I want to smack the living shit out of this bitch.

Instead, I keep my eyes on Cameron, silently waiting for him to tell her to stop, to correct her, to defend the promise he made me.

He doesn't.

He just stands there, wrapped in my blanket, looking as guilty as he does helpless.

My laugh comes out hollow.

“Are you seriously going to let her say that?”

“When did you get discharged?” Cameron asks softly, the sudden gentleness in his voice making my stomach lurch.

One fucking day he doesn’t deflect and pretend the real issue never happened.

I let out a humorless laugh before turning toward Kade.

“Please... just take me out of here.” My voice sounds calmer than I feel. “I'll grab a change of clothes and we can leave.”

He doesn't question me.

Not once.

I brush past the bed as though the two people occupying it no longer exist and head straight for my wardrobe. The doors fly open beneath my hands and I reach for the first outfit my fingers land on, not caring if it matches or if it's even appropriate.

I just need something.

Anything.

Behind me, sheets rustle and hurried footsteps hit the floor. Someone mutters a curse under their breath while another voice tries to hush it, but I refuse to look back.

If I turn around, I'll break.

“Cam, just let her go!” Daisy calls out from somewhere behind me, irritation lacing every word.

My hand stills around the bundle of clothes.

For the first time since walking into this room, a bitter smile threatens to pull at my lips.

How considerate of her.

Even now, she's the one giving him permission to leave me alone. She thinks she's won, and maybe she has.

Because the Cameron I knew would've been apologizing by now.

This Cameron...

He doesn't even know where to start.

“Sora, please wait!”

His footsteps pound down the stairs behind us, growing louder with every second.

Kade slows beside me just long enough to glance in my direction.

“Do you want to hear him out?”

I shoot him a warning look so sharp it could cut glass.

“Do you want me to cut you off as well?”

The corner of his mouth twitches.

“I'll take that as a no.”

Without another word, he bends to pick up our bags and continues toward the front door, giving us just enough space without wandering too far away.

Before I can make it another step, someone's fingers wrap firmly around my wrist, pulling me back.

“Sora, let's talk, please.”

I don't bother turning around.

“Let me go, Cam.”

“I can't.” His voice cracks with desperation. “We can't keep doing this. We can't keep fighting over misunderstandings.”

A bitter laugh escapes me.

“Misunderstandings?”

I finally turn to face him, yanking my hand free from his grip.

“You broke the only rule I ever asked you to follow. You slept with someone in my bed, Cameron. My bed.” I shake my head, feeling tears threaten to spill despite my determination not to cry. “I guess this is your way of telling me I've overstayed my welcome.”

His expression crumples almost instantly.

“No.” He takes a step toward me before stopping himself. “No, I’d never want you to leave.”

“Then tell me what that was.”

Sora Three plus Kade. Four buff men stand in the middle of my hospital room, smiling sheepishly while exchanging glances amongst themselves as though they're silently debating who should speak first. An overwhelming urge to disappear beneath my blanket crashes over me, but my pride stubbornly refuses to let me. I already embarrassed myself enough yesterday, the last thing I need is four ridiculously attractive men witnessing me hide under hospital sheets like a frightened turtle. “She’s much prettier than the pictures, mate.” The blond one quips, patting Kade on the shoulder. Pictures? My eyes snap to Kade so quickly my neck almost snaps. The idiot suddenly finds the ceiling fascinating, refusing to look anywhere in my direction. Traitor. I drag my attention back to the three men standing before me, taking them in properly this time. They're all inexplicably handsome in completely different ways, almost like they were handpicked to represent different kinds of attracti

  • Playing Fake With Kade Black    My Official Girlfriend

Sora I toss and turn, trying to shy away from the blinding light burning through my eyes, but it's futile. A groan slips past my lips as I burrow deeper into the hospital pillow, every muscle in my body protesting the movement. Ow. Who knew making out could count as cardio? ...Actually, scratch that. I know exactly why I'm sore. Heat rushes to my cheeks as flashes of last night threaten to replay in vivid detail. I squeeze my eyes shut and shove my face into the pillow. Absolutely not. I am not reliving that before breakfast. The steady beeping of the heart monitor drags me back to reality, followed by the faint scent of antiseptic reminding me I'm still very much in a hospital room. God, it's like Kade has embedded himself into my veins. I've never been brave enough to take control in bed before, yet somehow it came so naturally with him, like my body already knew what to do. And I came so hard from it too. Five fucking times. How am I supposed to face him today? It's not

  • Playing Fake With Kade Black    I Own You

Kade I lift Sora off me and lay her back down on the bed, quiet and careful. As much fun as it is leaving the door unlocked, the last thing I want is someone walking in on what I’m about to do to her. I’m going to fuck her so hard she forgets her own name. “Where are you going?” she breathes out, lips pink and swollen from our kisses. I flash her a slow smile before crossing the room and clicking the lock. The soft sound echoes in the quiet hospital room. “Nowhere, shadow.” I lean back against the door, drinking her in. Her chest rises and falls rapidly under that flimsy gown. I can’t decide if I want her completely naked or just like this—something about the way the fabric clings to her makes my cock ache. “What?” she snaps, but there’s heat in it. She pushes up on all fours and crawls toward the foot of the bed like a predator. I wipe my mouth with the back of my hand, licking my lips. “Lie back down and spread your legs for me.” She pauses, eyes narrowing, but then

Kade I can never get tired of kissing Sora. She tastes like an oasis—fucking pure, sweet enough to drown in. Every slide of her tongue quenches the worst of my thirst, but it only leaves me starving for the rest of her. She pulls back first, chest heaving under the thin hospital gown, lips swollen and glistening. “You keep kissing me like a starving man.” A low chuckle rumbles out of me as I chase her mouth, nipping at that plump lower lip. “Because I am.” My hand stays braced beside her head on the pillow while the other slides down her side, fingers tracing the edge of the flimsy blue gown. The hospital gown does nothing to hide how hard her nipples are already. I tug her closer on the narrow bed, the metal rails cool against my arm. “You have no idea what you do to me, baby. One taste and I’m gone.” Her breath catches when I duck my head and drag my mouth along the line of her throat, sucking lightly at the pulse fluttering there. The room is quiet except for the sof

  • Playing Fake With Kade Black    Your Book Boyfriend

Sora "It's nothing." Cam glances down at me before continuing, "Her heart rate was going crazy and I wanted to make sure she was okay." The lie slips from him so effortlessly that it catches me off guard. I've known Cameron for practically my entire life and until recently, I would've sworn on anything that he didn't lie. At least, that's what I used to believe. Now, I'm not so sure. I avoid both their eyes, looking around the room for some sort of escape. The ugly beige walls suddenly become incredibly fascinating. I can still feel Kade's gaze though, burning into the exact spot where Cam is standing. The silence stretches. It feels like time itself has stopped. After what feels like an eternity, Cam finally steps away from my bedside, silently giving Kade room. Kade doesn't thank him. He simply takes the space Cam vacated, placing the takeout bags on the small hospital tray before turning his attention fully to me. "Well, guess who listened to your stomach and
