ARIA'S POV

My body felt glued to the bed.

My limbs felt like it was disconnected from my body, like a heavy weight is pressing down on me. I hadn't gotten a good rest.

I managed to open my eyes, the room still brightly lit from the floor-to-ceiling windows.

I pushed myself up, wincing as the hangover throbbed behind my eyes like a drum.

My throat was dry and hoarse. I need water. I dragged myself to the kitchen, opened the fridge for water.

I stretched lazily, my body still aching in places tha

DOMINIC'S POVSelena! Her ghost still haunts me, whoever dug up her old picture has to have a game in mind, attempting to derail my plans or stir my memory. And I hate that they succeeded.I'm standing here in the courtroom, out of necessity because I couldn't go back on my words about protecting Aria. The courthouse was smaller than I expected, all beige walls and fluorescent lighting, nothing like the extravagant affair my mother would have insisted on if she'd known the truth of what this actually was, no one can know what this actually is.I stood near the window, watching the parking lot below, still turning that photograph over in my mind despite every effort to set it aside. Jorah had found nothing further overnight. Just Silence because the person knows exactly what they are doing.I forced it down. Today wasn't the day to chase ghosts. The door opened, and Aria stepped in with Claire beside her, dressed simply, a pale blue dress instead of white, nothing about the moment rese

DOMINIC'S POVIt took me a while to register what she had just said. Something is wrong with the baby?I stare down at her wide eyed, feeling stupid at how helpless and Inexperienced I feel right now.Panic rise and fell in my chest at the thought of how true what she is saying might be."Hold on," I said, though the words felt useless even as I spoke them, utterly inadequate against whatever fear had flooded her face. "We're almost there."Her hand found mine weakly, fingers cold, gripping with a strength that belied how fragile she looked pressed against my chest. "Dominic…" she said frayly."I'm here." I tightened my hold on her, forcing my voice steady despite the fear clawing up my own throat now, matching hers. "I'm not letting anything happen. Not to you. Not to the baby."The car screeched to a stop outside the emergency entrance before she could respond further, and I was moving before the driver had even fully braked, carrying her out into the harsh fluorescent glare of the

ARIA'S POVThe lobby was already in chaos by the time we arrived, a cluster of employees gathered near the reception desk, voices raised, phones out, the air thick with tension I could feel the moment the elevator doors opened.Dominic stepped out first, and the effect was immediate, conversations dying mid-sentence, heads turning, the crowd parting slightly as though some instinct told them to make room without needing to be asked.I followed behind him, forcing my spine straight despite the way my legs still trembled faintly beneath me, despite the ginger tea sitting uneasily in my stomach."Miss Cole." Someone near the front, one of the mid-level managers I recognized but couldn't immediately name, stepped forward. "We need answers. Now. People are saying you've been lying to the board. That the pregnancy, the scandal….""I understand you're frightened," I said, projecting my voice as steadily as I could manage. "I understand rumors have been spreading faster than facts. So let me a

ARIA'S POVMorning sickness is one thing I hate since it's onset. I woke to my stomach revolting before my mind had even caught up with consciousness.I barely made it to the bathroom in time, collapsing to my knees in front of the toilet as my body heaved violently, emptying what little remained from the night before. Tears stung my eyes, part nausea, part exhaustion, part the lingering weight of everything the headline had dredged up hours earlier. A sob broke out of me almost immediately."Aria?" Claire's voice, groggy with sleep, followed by quick footsteps. She appeared in the doorway a moment later, wincing sympathetically at the sight of me. "Oh, baby.""I'm fine," I said almost immediately, though the words came out weak, unconvincing even to my own ears. She crouched beside me, gathering my hair back with gentle hands, rubbing slow circles against my back while another wave rolled through me. "This is the worst morning sickness you've had yet.""Stress," I muttered, wiping my

ARIA'S POVThe knock came sometime after midnight, sharp and frantic, dragging me up out of a sleep so shallow I'd barely settled into it."Aria!" Claire's voice, muffled through the door, edged with panic. "Aria, wake up. You need to see this."I fumbled upright, heart already racing before I'd even processed why, my hand instinctively going to my stomach the way it always did now whenever fear spiked too fast to control.Claire burst in without waiting for an answer, phone already in her outstretched hand, screen glowing bright in the darkened room."What…." I started."Just look."I took the phone, squinting against the sudden light, and felt my stomach drop straight through the mattress.A headline, stark and merciless, glaring up at me from some gossip site I didn't recognize but that had clearly already gone viral.COLE HEIRESS TRAPS BILLIONAIRE WITH LOVE CHILD — SOURCES CLAIM SCANDALOUS AFFAIR BEGAN WEEKS BEFORE ENGAGEMENT ENDEDI scrolled further, my hands trembling harder wit

  • Pregnant for My Ex’s Ruthless Boss   Girl In the hospital

DOMINIC'S POV"When are we getting married?" she asked suddenly, her question caught me off guard, though I recovered quickly enough that she likely couldn't tell if I was hesitating or deliberating before I answered."Soon," I said. "The sooner this is official, the sooner Ryan loses whatever leverage he thinks he still has. And I need to be able to stabilize before fully replacing the faulty roots in the company." She explained. I nodded gently; it's understandable. We stepped out into the parking garage, her driver already waiting by the car, engine idling. I glanced at him, then back at Aria."I'll drive you," I said. She blinked. "No…" she answered sharply. "I mean you don't have to…" she started explaining."I'm aware." I turned to her driver before she could argue further. "Take the car back to the office. I'll see her home myself."The man glanced at Aria, waiting for her confirmation before he'd actually listen to me, which I found oddly reasonable given everything she'd been

ARIA’S POVSilence swallowed the entire hall. For a heartbeat, no one moved. Not even Ryan. The words hung in the air like a guillotine. Then just like that, the words traveled through the room twice before they could register in people’s brains. Whispers erupted—first confusion, then shock, then

ARIA’S POV I can't find him anywhere. ARIA’S POVI wish I had been sober enough yesterday.
