NOT A PATIENT—-A LIABILITY!

I watched him break under the violet solution for forty-three agonizing minutes.

Every twitch of his powerful body, every choked groan, every time his muscles strained against the restraints — I catalogued it all. Not with pity. Not even with satisfaction.

With cold calculation.

Justin Halderman was no longer simply a patient.

He was a liability.

A very dangerous, very tempting liability.

I finally eased the flow of the flushing agent and stepped back, peeling off my gloves. His chest heaved as the worst of the pain receded, leaving him drenched in sweat, the hospital gown clinging obscenely to every ridge of muscle. The black veins had faded slightly, but they still marred his skin like a map of my control.

He turned his head toward me, golden eyes glassy but still burning with that stubborn Alpha fire.

“Water…” he rasped.

I poured a small cup and held it to his lips myself, letting him drink slowly. Some of it spilled down his chin, trailing over the strong column of his throat. I resisted the urge to trace it with my finger.

When he finished, I set the cup aside and crossed my arms.

“You’re not a patient, Justin. Not in the way my others are. You are a walking complication. A threat magnet. And right now, you are endangering everything I’ve built.”

He swallowed hard, voice hoarse from the pain. “The boy… our son. Tell me he’s safe.”

I didn’t correct the “our.” Not this time.

Instead, I leaned against the edge of the bed, close enough that my hip brushed his restrained arm. “He is safe because I made him safe. Because while you were busy playing Supreme Alpha and fucking your Princess, I spent three years turning myself into something untouchable. I built this clinic. I built my reputation on ruin and resurrection. And I will not let you or your enemies destroy it.”

His jaw clenched. “I never touched her.”

The words slipped out raw. Unexpected.

I paused.

For the first time in years, something cold and sharp twisted in my chest. I crushed it instantly.

“Lie or truth,” I said flatly, “it doesn’t matter anymore. You chose the alliance. You chose the crown. You stood in front of the entire realm and claimed her while I was carrying your child and bleeding from the bond you broke.”

I let my fingers drift lightly over the fresh injection site on his arm, pressing just enough to make him hiss.

“You are a liability because your presence here has already drawn bloodhounds to my door. Someone wants you dead and they’re willing to use my son to do it. That makes you more dangerous to me than the poison in your veins.”

Justin’s eyes darkened with something feral. “Then let me protect him. Let me protect both of you. Release me from these restraints and I’ll tear apart anyone who—”

I laughed. Soft. Low. Cruel.

I climbed onto the bed in one fluid motion, straddling his waist without putting weight on his wounds. The thin fabric of my scrubs pressed against the growing hardness beneath the hospital gown. His cock jerked instantly at the contact.

I leaned down until our faces were inches apart, my hands braced on either side of his head.

“Look at you,” I whispered, voice dripping with mocking sweetness. “Still trying to play the hero. Still thinking you can command anything in my domain. You can’t even control your own body right now.”

I rolled my hips once, slowly, deliberately, feeling him thicken and throb against me. A strangled groan tore from his throat.

“This,” I said, grinding down harder, “is all you get tonight. A reminder of what you lost. You will stay hard. You will stay aching. And you will not come. Not until I decide your body has earned it.”

His hips bucked up instinctively, seeking more friction. I pinned them down with my weight and a sharp look.

“Liability,” I repeated softly. “That’s what you are. A beautiful, broken liability that I now own for ninety days. And if you want to keep breathing, you will remember your place.”

I climbed off him as gracefully as I had mounted, leaving him panting, flushed, and painfully erect beneath the thin gown.

His voice followed me to the door, rough and desperate.

“Veronica…”

I stopped but didn’t turn.

“I will earn back the right to say your name,” he vowed, voice shaking with pain, need, and something deeper. “Even if it takes the rest of my life.”

I glanced back over my shoulder, letting a cold smile curve my lips.

“You still don’t understand. This isn’t about earning me back. This is about surviving me.”

I left the room, the door sealing shut behind me with a soft, final click.

In the viewing room, I watched on the monitor as he let his head fall back against the pillow, eyes closed, breathing ragged. His cock still strained obscenely against the fabric, a wet spot forming where pre-cum had soaked through.

My own body was slick and throbbing, but I ignored it.

Control.

That was my weapon now.

I turned away from the monitor and walked toward the residence wing where my son slept safely behind triple-layered security.

Justin Halderman was not just a patient.

He was not even just a liability.

He was the first real test of how far the Queen Surgeon of Ruin was willing to go.

And I had only just begun.

  • QUEEN SURGEON OF RUIN   SILENCE BETWEEN US

The secured wing was quieter than the rest of my clinic. Intentionally so. Thick soundproof walls. Dimmed lights. One-way observation glass that let me watch without being seen. I stood in the viewing room with my arms crossed, staring at the man strapped to the surgical bed. Justin Halderman lay unconscious for now, his powerful body stripped down to a thin hospital gown that did nothing to hide the hard lines of muscle still fighting the poison. Monitors beeped steadily. IV lines snaked into his veins, pumping the first round of my custom stabilizers. His chest rose and fell in shallow rhythm, the black veins across his neck and torso looking like dark rivers on golden skin. He looked vulnerable. He looked like mine to break. I should have felt nothing but professional detachment. Instead, a slow, dangerous heat pooled low in my belly as I remembered the way he had shuddered under my gloved finger earlier. The way his cock had strained against his pants when I whispered

  • QUEEN SURGEON OF RUIN   THE PRICE OF ENTRY

Justin’s POV I stared at the blood-stained contract on the marble floor until the words blurred. My hands—hands that had commanded armies, signed treaties that reshaped the realm, and once held her hips while I knotted her so deep she screamed my name—now trembled as I reached for the folder. Doctor Veronica Sanchez – Terms of Treatment and Authority Every clause was a blade. Full medical control.
No external healers.
Mandatory residence in her private wing during recovery.
Daily examinations.
Complete obedience to all clinical orders.
No Alpha commands inside the clinic.
Ninety days of total submission. And the final line, written in her elegant, merciless handwriting: Any violation will result in immediate termination of treatment. No exceptions. No appeals. I could feel my men watching me. Their shame rolled off them in waves. The Supreme Alpha, on his knees in another Alpha’s territory, about to sign away his autonomy to the omega he had thrown away three years a

  • QUEEN SURGEON OF RUIN   NO NAME FOR HIM

I didn’t run to the security wing. Queens don’t run. I walked. Fast, measured strides that made my white coat snap behind me like a battle flag. My mind was already dissecting the new threat: unknown operatives hunting for my son. The timing was too perfect to be coincidence. Someone had leaked that Justin was here. Someone wanted to use the boy as leverage. Or as bait. The head of my security team, Marcus, met me at the reinforced doors. Tall, beta, unflinching. One of the few people who had seen me at my lowest three years ago and still chose to follow. “Three vehicles,” he reported quietly. “Tinted, unmarked. They’re probing the eastern perimeter but haven’t breached yet. One of them mentioned the boy by description.” My jaw tightened. “And Justin’s men?” “Still frozen in the main hall. Their Alpha hasn’t given them permission to move. He’s obeying your order to the letter.” A dark thread of satisfaction curled through me. Even poisoned and on his knees, Justin Ha

  • QUEEN SURGEON OF RUIN   THE MAN WHO KNELT

The pager burned against my hip like a brand. It’s not just me dying, little omega. Our son is next. I slipped the device into my coat pocket without looking back. Let him wait in his own blood a little longer. Let the marble drink him in. I walked down the private corridor, heels sharp against the floor, white coat flaring behind me like a coronation robe. My staff knew better than to ask questions. They had seen the Supreme Alpha on his knees. They had seen me walk away. Their silence was perfect. Inside my office, I poured myself a glass of water and drank it slowly, tasting nothing. My hands didn’t shake. They never did anymore. Three years of carving power out of flesh and politics had burned the tremors out of me. But my body remembered him. The low throb between my thighs was traitorous. The way my nipples had tightened when I stood close enough to smell his ruined Alpha scent — that was unacceptable. I crushed the unwanted heat with clinical detachment. I was no

  • QUEEN SURGEON OF RUIN   MARBLE ON THE FLOOR

The first thing I noticed was the sound. Not the frantic footsteps of my staff trying to contain the breach. Not the low, clipped voices of the guards who had no right to be here. No. The drip. Slow. Deliberate. Insistent. Blood has its own language, and it never hurries. It knows the world will eventually kneel to it. Drip. Drip. Drip. I didn’t look up right away. My gloved hands stayed steady as I tied off the last suture on my current patient, the needle sliding through torn flesh like silk through skin. The man beneath me shuddered once, then went still. Perfect. “Monitor him,” I said, voice cool, clinical. “Page me if the pressure drops.” “Yes, Doctor Sanchez.” Only then did I peel off the gloves, the latex snapping against my wrists like a promise. Only then did I turn. The double doors of the Black Veil Clinic stood wide open. They were never open. A line had been drawn in marble and blood three years ago, and no one crossed it without my invitatio
