LEVI'S POV

Dagon having dinner with us was one thing I would never have never allowed. But somehow, he was seated at our table eating with us.

I had returned to the table a few minutes ago, and sat back down. Dagon was doing most of the talking, but I noticed Brooks had become quiet.

The brightness that had briefly returned to her face earlier had faded again, replaced by a strange quietness.

"Everything alright?"

Brooks looked at me and gave a small nod.

"I'm fine."

That answer was too simple,

LEVI'S POVDagon having dinner with us was one thing I would never have never allowed. But somehow, he was seated at our table eating with us.I had returned to the table a few minutes ago, and sat back down. Dagon was doing most of the talking, but I noticed Brooks had become quiet. The brightness that had briefly returned to her face earlier had faded again, replaced by a strange quietness."Everything alright?"Brooks looked at me and gave a small nod."I'm fine."That answer was too simple, but I didn't budge further.Theo was seated along with Rowan who had barely eaten anything since dinner started. He sat beside Brooks, poking absentmindedly at the vegetables on his plate with his fork.Every now and then he glanced toward Dagon before looking away again, his small face wearing an unmistakable frown.I noticed it and so did Brooks who gently nudged his shoulder."Rowan, eat your food."He sighed dramatically but obeyed, taking another bite before looking across the table once m

BROOK'S POVThe palace hall was packed with major media house representatives from all over the kingdom, reporters with their notepads and microphones in hand, and cameramen capturing everything.I sat quietly among the guests, my hands resting in my lap as my eyes remained fixed on Levi seated at the table podium at the front of the hall."I called this press conference because there are things I should have admitted a long time ago."The hall became completely silent."My interview with Dagon forced the truth into the open, but the truth should never have needed to be forced out of me. I should have been the one to tell it."His voice remained steady, but I could hear the weight behind every word."The history that the kingdom has believed about the White Wolves is false. My father was responsible for the massacre of the White Wolves. They were not traitors, and they did not commit the crimes history accused them of."Levi lowered his eyes briefly before continuing."I discovered th

BROOK'S POVThe entire drive back from the café had been spent replaying my conversation with Dagon over and over again.Immediately we got back to the palace, I walked straight to our bedroom and pushed the door open.Levi was inside, and the moment he saw me, he got up from the bed like something had burned him and walked toward me.For the briefest second, I caught the flicker of hope in his eyes, as though my coming to him meant that something between us had changed. It hadn't."Where's the pendant?"His expression changed almost immediately and he searched my face for a long moment."What do you want it for?"I didn't have the patience for any interrogation."Don't waste my time, Levi. Give me the pendant."He remained where he was, looking at me, and I could see the hesitation written all over his face. His jaw tightened slightly, and it was obvious that he didn't want to do it, but whatever he saw in my expression made him decide against it.After several long seconds, he let o

BROOKSI sat quietly in the back seat, my eyes fixed on the scenery beyond the tinted window as the car moved steadily along the road.Theo sat in the front passenger seat. He hadn't tried to start a conversation from the moment we left the palace, and I was grateful for it.There wasn't anything either of us could say that would make today any easier. The driver remained focused on the road, while the convoy carrying the guards stayed close behind us, following at a steady distance. The quiet inside the car should have been comforting. Instead, it gave my thoughts far too much room to wander.I leaned back against the seat and slowly let out a breath I hadn't realized I'd been holding. Ever since the interview, my mind had been consumed by Levi's confession and everything that had come with it.The anger, the heartbreak, the betrayal, and the countless questions that had followed had left me emotionally exhausted. I hadn't had the chance to think about anything else.As we got closer

LEVI'S POV"Damn it!"My voice echoed through the study as I dragged both hands frantically through my hair, pacing back and forth across the study, and unable to stop moving.I was now facing the terrifying, inescapable reality that Brooks now completely hated me and that everything in my entire life had gone completely wrong in the span of a single televised nightmare.Every time I closed my eyes, I saw the absolute devastation, hurt and heartbreak etched onto her face, and that image tormented me in ways I had never thought possible.I shoved a chair aside so hard that it scraped loudly across the floor before crashing into the wall."What was I thinking? Why didn't I just tell her? Why did I keep lying?"The desperate questions tumbled out of my mouth one after another, but there were no answers left that made any sense or offered any comfort anymore.I slammed my fist hard against the edge of the desk, and while the sharp, stinging pain shot instantly through my knuckles, it did

BROOK'S POVI sat quietly on the edge of the bed, my hands resting limply in my lap as I stared at the blank TV screen I had turned off after the live broadcast had ended almost an hour ago.Levi had lied to me all this time. The realization refused to settle. It felt too enormous to fit inside my mind. I kept thinking that if I sat here long enough, it'd turn out to be a lie.But the silence in the room was real, the emptiness in my chest was real, and the truth I'd heard with my own ears was real.I thought back to every conversation we had about the White Wolves, every time I asked him questions and he would look me in the eyes and answer me without the slightest hesitation. That was what hurt the most.He had watched me believe that the white wolves had been monsters. He had watched me accept that they were traitors without ever giving me the chance to know who they truly were. All those moments when he'd held me, comforted me, and told me everything would be alright suddenly felt

BROOKS POV The palace was very grand. That was the first thing that hit me the moment we stepped in, and it didn’t ease even after hours of being there. Everything was big, polished, and perfect. The floors gleamed like they had never seen dirt, the walls stretched higher than anything, and every
