THIRD PERSON POV

The alpha was in a meeting with his elders when a guard ran into the hall with panic in his eyes. He walked swiftly to where the alpha was and got on one knee.

"Alpha, the divinator is nowhere to be found " the guard said, out of breath.

"What?" the elders said in unison. "Where has he gone to?" the Alpha asked.

"We do not know sir, some guards are already out looking for him, but there's one other thing sir", the guard hesitated before speaking.

"What is it?" the Alpha said impatiently, a growl coming out.

"His chambers have been cleared out too, he must have fled in the night, his assistants are gone too, all his books and tools are gone, the room is empty" he said, sweating profusely.

"Traitor, I knew we couldn't trust him after the first ritual mishap," one of the elders said angrily.

"We should have had guards watching him round the clock" another one chipped in.

The Alpha was silently fuming. "Take guards and scour the entire pack and the forest, get our best wolves to sniff him out" he said, his alpha authority leaking out. The room suddenly became colder.

"Yes, Alpha" the guard nodded and hurried out swiftly, leaving the Alpha alone with the elders once again.

"What do we do now, Alpha?" one of the elders spoke up after a few minutes.

The Alpha was speechless, drowning in his thoughts, He had to find a way to end this bond soon, even if it means killing the girl. The bond was fake as far as he could tell, because he did not have any feelings for her.

"Alpha, I have some news for you too, I intended to tell you after the meeting, before the ritual " he said, the other elders suddenly turned to him expectantly.

He continued "one of my sources said the divinator visited the girl last night, to see if he could get the truth out of her after the ritual, they said he left her the dungeon in a rush" the other elders gasped, in hushed tones.

"Then something must have happened when he saw the girl, we need to have her questioned, what do you say Alpha" the first elder suggested.

"Bring her to me" the Alpha spat out those words angrily.

.....

ELARA'S POV

My head ached from the amount of thinking I had been doing all night long, I had barely slept a wink.

One minute the divinator was here, I saw black, and the next minute, he wasn't.

Was he here? Did I black out? What happened? How long was it?

I was so confused.

"Since this damn mate bond, I have been going round in confusing circles, I barely feel it anymore, maybe it's because the Alpha doesn't care" I shrugged to myself.

I didn't know how this was going to end and I had no idea what had been happening but I had to brace myself for the ritual tonight. I wonder what would happen tonight.

The bond with the Alpha is weird, I feel things from the mate bond, but only because the mate bond wants me to, I have no distinct feelings for him.

"Ugggghhh, I am so confused, I wish I could get an explanation for all this...and that voice... Who was that? Who is that?

The sound of the dungeon opening snapped me out of my thoughts. The guards were coming, but it wasn't time for the ritual yet.

My heart started to beat really fast.

What was happening?

Both guards opened the cell and looked at me warily, as if I were a criminal.

Without a word, they grabbed my arms and dragged me towards the hall. I could feel their nails digging into my skin, but I bit back a cry. I had cried too much these past weeks and this was too small to make me cry.

"When am I going to be out of here?" I  kept on thinking to myself till I was face to face in front of the elders and my Almighty mate again.

"What an irony?" I thought to myself.

Their stern faces peered at me as if looking into a mirror.

"Did the divinator visit you yesterday?" the first elder said while peering into my eyes, waiting for an answer.

I stared at all of their faces with more boldness than I thought I possessed, their faces were a mixture of curiosity and confusion, the Alpha's face was pure anger.

"Yes, he did," I said out loud, after hesitating for a while.

Their bodies seemed to grow even more tense after my answer.

"What did he want?" the first elder pressed again, squinting his eyes at me.

It annoyed me. The way he looked at me, as if he was trying to read me.

"He asked me what I was and he tried to stretch his hand to touch me, I can't remember anything after that" I gave a short answer. I suddenly felt angry remembering that and wondering why I couldn't remember anything after he stretched his hand.

They shifted uncomfortably in their seats, the Alpha seemed even more furious now.

"You say he tried to touch you?" the alpha said, clearly furious, gripping the edge of his seat, almost as if he can wanted to crush it.

I nodded, without a word. He got even angrier and on my own end, my anger had been growing all this while.

Why did he care? Hadn't he been trying to get rid of the mate bond?

"And you say you do not remember anything else after that?" the elders asked again.

"I do not, one minute he was there, and the next he was not, I don't know if I blacked out, I don't know what happened" I said, impatiently, I didn't know where this anger was coming from.

"Alpha, it seems she is telling the truth, he must have seen something that made him run away from the pack" one of the elders said.

Oh, so the divinator had run away? That meant the ritual would most likely not happen tonight.

That cooled my anger a bit.

"You can leave us" the Alpha said, and as if on cue, the guards opened the large doors and came to escort me back to my cell.

As I was being led out by the guards, my back turned to the Alpha, I instinctively turned back and my eyes locked with the Alpha's, but something was different, it seemed like I was seeing him through someone else's eyes.

The doors closed in my face, and I turned back, confused at what just happened.

I was going crazy being locked up in here without any light."This is getting too much," I said to myself.Amidst all my thoughts, I heard the dungeon doors opening. He asked the girls, sweat beads forming on his head which he wiped away furiously."No my lord" they answered almost simultaneously. His hope cracked a little more, this would mean death for him if he wasn't able to give the Alpha and the pack a solution."I should have never accepted this, this is bigger than me" he muttered to himself, still pacing around. The sound of books and scrolls opening and closing could be heard as the girls worked, trying to find a solution for their master. The room was hot from the heat of the c

ELARA'S POVA few days had passed. The minutes kept ticking in my head, wondering when the divinator would arrive, when my fate would be sealed.Suddenly, I heard noises outside the dungeon, I heard the dungeon being opened. I knew he had arrived.I'm lost in my thoughts when the guards come up to me, pick me up and drag me to the hall as usual, it's familiar this time. The wounds on my back have healed a long way so I feel better, I feel stronger. And I also knew I was being watched, I didn't know by who or what, but I knew I was being watched, and I just might be safe. Though I didn't fully believe that either.I sat on the cold stone floor in the hall, not bothering to look anyone in the eyes and see the disgust on their faces.Through the corner of my eyes, I spotted the guards leading someone into the hall, dressed in all black, a cloak covering his eyes. I felt an uncomfortable presence from him, a dark presence."This must be the divinator" I thought to myself. "We are gather

  • REJECTED BY THE ALPHA, CHOSEN BY THE MOON   What the divinator saw - pt 1

ELARA'S POVThe silence in the hall was so thick, you could almost feel it on your skin. One of the elders leaned forward, he was the oldest of the three, his hair, as pale as ash, fell over his shoulders and down the back of his robe. The deep lines on his face made him look strict, but his eyes held no anger.Only coldness. The Elder studied me for a long moment, like a puzzle. Then he said,"The Alpha claims the bond has been disturbed".Murmurs started all over the hall."Silence" he said, and the murmurs stopped almost immediately."In all werewolf history, a bond has never weakened without interference" he said, his voice calm, and carrying across the hall."A bond does not dim without it being tampered with, and you..." he pointed his staff to me "are the only one capable of doing that because the bond belongs to you and the Alpha, and the Alpha claims not to have done that" he continued."I didn't..." I tried to say"Silence" he said calmly, and my words stuck at my throat, hi
