Our pack was forcibly dissolved for provoking a war. The Werewolf Council issued a new decree. All young wolves who hadn't participated in the war were required to undergo a heart blood extraction within one month to complete an aggression gene screening. Those who passed could join a new pack. Those who didn't would be expelled and cast out as rogues. Sophia, a white wolf, suddenly claimed that her father was the chairman of the Werewolf Council. She said she could get her father to exempt everyone from the screening and grant them unconditional entry into the Blackstone Pack. Our friends believed her and simply waited for her to lead them into the new pack. I urged everyone to complete the screening as a backup plan. That irritated Sophia. She mocked me for being clueless and making everyone suffer for nothing. "Some of them might carry the aggression gene. If they fail the screening, are you going to take responsibility?" My boyfriend Silas said I was too jealous and didn't want anyone else to have it good. Left with no choice, I reported what was happening in the pack to the Council. Sophia was immediately stripped of her membership for identity fraud and obstruction of the merger. Without the pack's protection, she died in the wilderness. At the time, every member of the pack said she deserved what she got and thanked me for saving them. But after we entered the new territory, Silas stabbed me with a silver dagger. Not a single pack member standing by lifted a finger to help me. "All we had to do was endure a little pain from the blood draw. Sophia lost her life!" When I opened my eyes again, I was back on the day Sophia declared herself the chairman's daughter.

Chapter 1

In my previous life, after Silas stabbed me to death, he noticed my phone wouldn't stop ringing.

It was my parents.

They said they could feel my wolf fading.

Silas and the bystanders were afraid my parents would uncover the truth, so they lied and told them I'd been slightly injured during a hunt and needed a blood transfusion from them.

My parents didn't think twice and rushed over through the night.

But they had set up traps everywhere. Just before my parents could reach my body, they were riddled with silver arrows!

They howled in agony!

Then they spat out a rush of blood and crumpled to the ground, dead.

What remained of my soul floated above, desperate to rip out every last one of their throats!

But I was powerless!

Silas stared coldly at my parents' bodies and spat,

"Blame yourselves for raising such a vicious daughter. The three of your lives aren't worth a single Sophia!"

The next second, a familiar voice reached my ears. "Wow, Sophia, your fur is absolutely gorgeous! I've never seen anything so purely white, not even at the Werewolf Museum. Your parents' bloodline must be incredible!"

"And it smells so nice too! Your parents must really spoil you!"

I stared at the scene before me in disbelief, realizing I had been reborn.

Sophia covered her mouth and giggled.

"Keep this about my identity a secret, okay? I only told you because I was worried you wouldn't pass the genetic screening."

Our friends crowded around her in excitement, all talking over each other.

"It's all thanks to you, Sophia! Now we can skip the genetic screening and the pain of having blood drawn from our hearts."

"My brother was found to carry the aggression gene. I was so worried, but thank you, Sophia!"

"Sophia, you've got the face of an angel and a heart to match."

Sophia played with her long hair, soaking up the flattery without a shred of guilt.

Remembering my gruesome death in my previous life, I looked at them with nothing but hatred.

Sophia felt my gaze and turned to me. "Opal, a frail little Omega like you can't fight anyway. You don't need my help, right?"

Before I could respond, Silas cut in.

"An Omega. Even if you pass the screening, Blackstone might not even want you."

"A useless wolf like you will just get kicked out of the territory and end up a rogue."

"You can't spend your whole life leeching off Sophia, can you?"

Everyone had already bought Sophia's lies. Afraid I'd drag them down, they piled on more compliments for her.

Hatred made my wolf snarl from deep within. "Opal, bare your claws! Tear them apart!"

I suppressed the Alpha aura threatening to burst from my chest and soothed her. "These losers aren't worth my time."

I had more important things to do. I couldn't afford to stain my hands with the blood of my own kind.

Sophia took my silence as fear. "You know, my family has plenty of Omega servants. For old times' sake, I could take you in as one of mine."

"That way you won't have to end up a rogue."

She paused. "But first, you'll have to swear an oath to the Moon Goddess and pledge your submission to me."

I clenched my fists, fighting the urge to tear her apart, and said calmly, "Taking what isn't yours by force will only cost you more in the end."

An invisible wave of dominance washed over Sophia, and her voice began to tremble. "I... I was only trying to help you. You're so weak, the new pack might not even accept you... and yet you're cursing us..."

She trailed off and started crying, looking wronged.

Seeing Sophia humiliated, Silas shifted into wolf form and lunged at me. Before I could react, he pinned me to the ground.

"Opal, you'd better know what's good for you! Apologize to Sophia!"

I nearly lost control of my wolf.

Everyone piled on, demanding I apologize.

"The aggression gene is a warrior's gene. Of course an Omega like you doesn't have it. Of course you'd want the screening."

"You hate us that much? You won't be happy until we're all rogues? Apologize to Sophia!"

Silas pressed down harder. "Did you hear me? Apologize. Now!"

My vulnerable neck was completely exposed. For a wolf, that was as good as death!

I lifted my gaze and stared silently at each familiar face before me.

Silas, full of disgust.

Sophia, looking down at me with contempt.

All of them, waiting for me to submit.

I forced my head up. "My safety is none of your concern. I have my own plan. But you might want to worry about yourselves. You think you can skip the screening and the other packs will just let it slide?"
