Isabelle's POV

Edwin was exactly where she expected him to be — at the bar, two glasses of red wine already waiting, watching the party continue like nothing had happened outside that hall an hour ago.

Which, for most people here, it hadn't.

Guests had drifted back to their conversations the moment the drama ended. Music had resumed. Drinks had been refilled. Only the royal family had disappeared, tight-faced and quiet, and nobody was going to comment on that.

  • Rejected Once, Now Claimed By The Lycan    Wolfless

Ava's POVEdgar stayed in his seat like the entire room belonged to him.Which, once upon a time, it had."Have you gone mad?" he said. "Do you know who you are speaking to?""I know exactly who I am speaking to," Sebastian said.Janet moved to his side quickly, her hand on his arm. She knew her son. She knew Edgar. She understood what happened when neither of them decided to back down.Edgar's eyes were already shifting — darkening at the edges, his Lycan pressing forward."Sebastian." Janet kept her voice low. "Please.""Don't stop me, mother." He pulled away from her hand. "Do you know what they did to Ava last night?"Janet turned to look at Fiona, who stood with her arms folded and her jaw set, wearing the expression of someone who felt entirely justified."They dragged her out of her room at midnight," Sebastian said. "By her hair. Took her to his study. She was slapped and threatened." He slammed his hand on the table. "She is my mate!"Fiona moved before anyone could stop her.

  • Rejected Once, Now Claimed By The Lycan     Act Like It

Ava's POVMy eyes opened to an unfamiliar ceiling.I sat up fast, heart jumping — then the room settled around me and I remembered.Sebastian's room. The other side of the bed was empty but rumpled. He had actually slept there. The whole night.Heat rushed to my face before I could stop it."You're up."He walked out of his closet in a black shirt and grey joggers, hair still damp. He looked at me the way he always did — like he was reading something he found interesting."I should go," I said, clearing my throat. "Isabelle is probably looking for me.""Breakfast is in forty minutes. Go freshen up." He paused. "I want us to walk in together."I stared at him.He held my gaze without flinching."Alright," I said. "I won't make any promises about the time."He was still smiling when I walked out.---Twenty minutes for the shower. Twenty more to get dressed. I settled on a knee-length blue pleated dress, silver heels, minimal makeup and loose waves in my hair.Five minutes to eight. A k

  • Rejected Once, Now Claimed By The Lycan    Stay

Ava's POVI left Edgar's study with my cheek still burning and my blood running hot.Any sensible person would have gone back to their room. Locked the door. Waited until morning.I went upstairs instead.I had never been to Sebastian's floor. Three doors, all closed, all identical. I stood in the corridor and stared at them and felt the tears building before I could stop them.I knocked on the first door. Nothing.Second door. Nothing.I stopped in front of the third and pressed my fist against it."Sebastian." I knocked hard. "Open the door."Nothing."I'm not leaving." My voice cracked on the last word and I hated it. "I'm not going anywhere until you open this door."I knocked again. And again. And somewhere between the third and fourth knock the tears spilled over and I stopped trying to hold them back.I was twenty years old. I had been dragged out of bed by my hair, thrown to the floor, slapped across the face, and threatened by a man who looked at women like they were furnitur

Music had resumed. Drinks had been refilled. Only the royal family had disappeared, tight-faced and quiet, and nobody was going to comment on that.Isabelle slid onto the stool beside Edwin and picked up her glass."I am completely in love with Ava," she announced.Edwin looked at her sideways. "Sebastian's mate.""Did you *see* what she did out there?" Isabelle pressed her hand to her chest. "They handed her a punishment and she threw it straight back at them. In front of everyone.""I saw." His voice was flat."You don't think that's incredible?""I think it's going to cause her serious problems," he said, and took a slow sip of his wine.Isabelle rolled her eyes. "Sebast

  • Rejected Once, Now Claimed By The Lycan    Soft

Ava's POVI stormed into my room, slammed the door hard enough to rattle the frame, and screamed. Not a dignified sound. A full, raw, frustrated scream that I was fairly certain carried through the floor and down the staircase and possibly into the party hall where every Lycan in the kingdom was probably still talking about me.Good. Let them talk."I *hate* this place!" I threw myself onto the bed and stared at the ceiling.Four days. I had been here four days and I had already been told I needed to get pregnant on a deadline, watched my mate grope another woman on a balcony, accidentally endangered an innocent man's life, and been publicly threatened with something called a dark room.Four days. The knock came less than five minutes later. I ignored it.It came again. I pulled a pillow over my face. Then — quietly, through the door — "It's Isabelle."I was across the room before I had fully decided to move. She walked in and wrapped both arms around me immediately, no questions, no

Ava's POVThe words left my mouth and I immediately wanted to pull them back.Whatever you want.Sebastian's smile told me he had not missed a single syllable."Are you sure about that?" he asked."As long as it's within my power," I said, lifting my chin. "Yes."He stepped closer. One finger under my jaw, tilting my face up until I had no choice but to look at him directly."Go back into that hall," he said, his voice low and completely calm, "and let every person in that room know that you belong to me."Silence."That's it?" I asked."That's it."I stared at him. He stared back. Not a flicker of amusement, not a crack in that expression. He wanted me to walk back in there — in front of his parents, his father's four mates, Sandra, every Lycan in that hall — and publicly claim him as mine after he had spent twenty minutes on a balcony with another woman's hand on his."Is there anything else?" I asked. "Any other humiliation you'd like to add while you're at it?"Something crossed h
