LOGINKingsley’s eyes flickered, and he opened them. He grabbed Rose’s hand and again said, “Rose!” and finally lost his consciousness.
“No, no, please, please, wake up! Wake up!” sobbed Rose. But she made sure that the pressure on Kingsley’s wound was tight. She was not letting even a drop fall from the wound.
She turned to look around, but there was no one. She was alone with an unconscious body, and she had no way to help him. Her phone was inside her kitchen. If she ran to bring that back, the man before her would lose a lot of blood, and that would be life-threatening.
She knew what it felt like when someone died or was on the precipice of dying. She had already lost her mother, and her father was in a coma. She had no parents. She just had a stepmother and a stepsister, a so-called family. And she knew that the man lying before her must have a family. She could feel the pain his family would feel when they would know that he was dead.
Tears started streaming down her face, but she never let the pressure get loose. “Seth! Seth! Please come soon!” she cried, praying to whatever god would listen to her.
Suddenly she heard a few footsteps, and she shouted at the top of her lungs, “please, please, here! Please help! he is bleeding! He is dying! Please help!”
The footsteps kept coming close and the moment two tall figures appeared before her, a loud gasp escaped her mouth, and she stopped breathing. She didn’t think that the killers could come back after she sent them packing, but the killers were back. They had guns pointed at Rose and Kingsley’s heads, and they looked extremely angry.
“You bitch!!! You fooled us!” snapped one of the goons and waved his gun at her.
“No, no!” cried Rose, but the goons didn’t care. One of them moved close to her and grabbed her by her hair. He started pulling her away from Kingsley, but she kept the pressure on his arm. “No, nooo!!!! Stop! Ahhh! Ow!!!” she cried in pain.
The goons pulled her up and threw her against a wall. He grabbed her neck and pressed her hard into the wall. “So, you were giving him pleasure? And now he is lying dead? How hard did you fuck him?” laughed the goon.
Tears kept streaming down Rose’s face. She kept clawing at his hand, but he was not ready to let her go.
“Okay, how shall we do this? Should we fuck her first and then kill him, or kill him first and then fuck her?” asked Goon 1. His friend laughed and licked Kingsley to find out if he really was unconscious. When he was satisfied, he faced Rose and smiled at her.
“Well, she is hot! We can fuck her first. He is not getting up anytime soon,” laughed goon 2.
“Ohh! This day is so lucky. We get to kill the devil, Kingsley Aguilar, and then get to fuck a hot woman. By the way, who are you?” asked Goon 1.
“You know what, I recognise this bakery. This is going viral on all social media. The Kunafa Doughnut is worth killing for. Do you make them?” asked Goon 2.
“Please, he is dying. No one should die. Please help him!” sobbed Rose.
“Then strip! Ride me like you were riding him, and then we will walk away. I promise,” said Goon 1.
“Wh…at?” sobbed Rose.
“Do it! I promise I will leave him alone. See this… I cross my heart and hope to die,” said Goon 1 and literally crossed his heart.
But the moment Rose saw the blood oozing out of Kingsley’s arm and flowing on the floor, she lost her mind. She knew she had to save him, no matter what. She didn’t mind that she was going to die. She felt like she was standing in the rain, but the rain was not drenching her. She could hear screams coming from the unconscious man’s mouth, but somehow those sounds sounded like a female voice. She felt like she was not inside a bathroom but standing on a street, and everyone was staring at her.
Everything was a blur for her. All she knew was that she had to save the bleeding man, the man called Kingsley Aguilar. And why did the goons call him a devil? She took a deep breath and, without thinking twice, kicked the goon standing before him between his legs.
Goon 1 gasped loudly, and all the air was knocked out of his chest. He groaned and fell down to his knees. She pushed the other goon out of her way and knelt down near Kingsley. He again put pressure on his wound and begged him, “please, please wake up! Please wake up!"
“You slut! You hit my people. I will kill you. I will kill you and then fuck you, fuck you till you bleed to death,” shouted Goon 2 and pointed his gun at her head. His friend was now on the floor, writhing in pain.
Rose instinctively threw herself over Kingsley and tried to cover his upper body with her own. But her body was not enough to cover his large, muscular body. She was a tall woman, but all the hard work in her bakery had kept her slender.
Tears had now soaked Kinsgley’s shirt. Goon 2 gritted his teeth and pressed the barrel of the gun against her head. A loud bang echoed in Rose’s ears. She pressed her eyes tightly and waited for the pain and blood to appear. She knew this was her last moment on earth. She thought about her father and apologised to him for leaving him alone in the world.
The next person she thought about was Seth, her best friend, the co-owner of her bakery. He was the only person she could call her family. She knew the sassy man would say something funny to make her forget her pain before dying.
She then thought back to her mother. She had her pictures, and that was the only reason she knew what her mother looked like, because she never remembered anything about her. She only knew that she had died in a car accident and nothing else. And for years, after her father fell into a coma, there was no one she could talk to about her mother.
But no pain, no blood appeared. She opened her eyes and touched her forehead; it was intact. She looked around, and her eyes fell on a tall, handsome, muscular man standing at the bathroom door with six men standing around him. The gun in his hand was smoking from the barrel.
“Please! Please don’t kill him!” she sobbed.
Kingsley first gritted his teeth in anger. He didn’t like Emerson noticing every tiny thing about him. But that was obvious. They had been friends since they were teenagers and were trained together to lead Dia Lucrii. One became the boss, and the other became his right hand. They were like two peas in a pod. They were best friends, best fighters, best marksmen and did everything together. He also hated the fact that a girl was affecting him to this extent. All his life, his heart had been searching for Rose; his heart belonged to Rose. And he hated the fact that some unknown girl was making him jealous and angry. Only his Rose could do that to him. No one else could. He sighed loudly and, without looking at Emerson, replied, “I don’t know. Trust me, I, too, hate the fact that I got jealous. I didn’t like it when he talked about you falling for her. Even if she is not my Rose, I don’t want anyone falling for her.”“What? Why?” asked Emerson.“I don’t want an innocent girl to get roped
Kingsley didn’t know why he felt jealous after hearing what Shannon just said. He didn’t know who Rose was or if she even was his Rose. He lost his Rose when she was merely four years old. She was a cute little kid who always kept fighting with him. She could not even pronounce his name correctly.Whenever they would meet, they would always fight. And when they would be separated, they would cry, saying that they missed each other. As Rose was younger than him, he used to give in to every one of her demands. She would sit on his chest, grab his hair and yank on it, and he would just end up laughing at her. Because after hurting him, she herself would end up crying. And the gold in her eyes would become more prominent. He still remembered her chubby cheeks, her bob haircut, her tiny fingers, her wails, her giggles, her little body, her little feet. And now that sweet girl must have grown. He had been searching for her for years. When he was a kid, Egbert used to look for her. In the me
Emerson was looking at Kingsley while he was busy talking to Deep. He informed Kingsley about everything his team had already done. They all kept walking behind Shannon to the security room. As it was situated in a quiet corner of the basement level 1, they had to get inside an elevator.“So, everything in that bakery is fine now?” asked Kinsgley.“Yes!” sighed Kingsley.Emerson then took out his phone and dialled Liliana’s number. Within seconds, she picked up the phone.“Oh, so you remember me now?” snapped Liliana. She didn’t wait for any greetings.“I always remember you, Lili darling!” mocked Emerson.“You son of a bitch! You always remember me when you have some work. What is it this time?” snapped Liliana, making Emerson laugh.Kingsley jerked the phone away from Emerson and spoke, “Liliana!” She immediately stiffened after hearing his authoritative voice. He was not rude; he was just nonchalant.“Boss!” said Liliana. Everyone could hear her standing straight with one word.“I h
Kingsley stopped at the door and looked around. There was no one in the room. Deep had gone to search the hospital for Rose. Kingsley moved ahead and stopped near the hospital bed. The blanket was half lying on the floor. The IV injection was dripping liquid drop by drop on the floor. He moved one step more, and his feet stumbled on nude-coloured heels. He looked at the heels with a deep sigh. Suddenly, he noticed the shoe size. “That girl was tall, so why are her heels so small in size?” he thought.“Oh no! Where is she? Did she yank her IV out?” shouted the nurse and ran to the bedside.“When you last saw her, was she alright?” asked Kingsley.“Yeah, I told you she was sleeping it off. But…” hesitated the nurse.“But what?” Kingsley’s heart was ready to jump out of his chest.“When we came here to check on her, we noticed a few drops of blood in her IV tube,” replied the nurse.“Nothing else! No one was around her? no one was lingering outside her room?” asked Emerson.“No! Nothing e
“Find her! Find her, Emer! Now!” shouted Kingsley. Emerson saw the panic in Kingsley’s eyes and gulped with fear. He had never seen Kingsley showing such emotions before that, too, for a strange woman. Seeing his fear now, Emerson was afraid too. What if Darcy had come back to finish the job? But why that woman, why would he try to hurt that woman, she didn’t see him, she just saw his goons. And if Darcy wanted to kill someone, why not Kingsley? But he knew the answer. Kingsley was under a lot of protection. No one could get to him, but to capture that woman, that was a fairly easy job. Emerson almost ran to the door when he saw that Kingsley was coming up right behind him.“What are you doing?” snapped Emerson.“I am coming with you!” shouted Kingsley. The sweat was dripping from his forehead.“Have you lost your mind? Don’t you see all these IVs attached to you?” Emerson started pushing Kingsley back into the room. “Do you have any idea how much blood you have lost? If not for that
Rose couldn’t look into Seth’s eyes. She had her head lowered with guilt and shame. Why was she feeling that she had no idea? She did nothing wrong, she didn’t make a mistake, she didn’t hurt anyone, yet she was the one who was feeling bad.“I… I don’t know, Sethie! I love… loved him. His name is associated with Woolridge now, and if anything happens to that name, you know how Ursa will act. She will not believe me; she will believe Piers and get him out of jail. Vanessa will stand with him. If I send Piers to jail, my name will be spoiled, and everyone will call me names just because I was living with him. I chose him, Seth! I chose him. So somewhere, everyone will make it my fault,” explained Rose.“You are really an idiot! So, what people talk about you, so what people call you names. You taught me to always side with the truth, always speak my mind. So now it’s your turn, and you are giving excuses! Hypocrite!” snapped Seth.“Please just take me away, Seth! I don’t want to be in th
Emerson was driving the car and kept giving the reports about patients lying in his car to the doctor.“Maybe the shock was too much. Okay, I will get everything ready. When will you reach?” asked Ernesta.“Five more minutes!” said Emerson and sped up the car. “You know his blood group, right?”“I
Tears could not stop falling from Rose’s face. She had her body thrown over Kingsley’s body. She was surrounded by men with guns in their hands and no way to save or protect Kingsley or herself. All she could do was plead. But would pleading work with heartless gang members? The man standing at the
The moment Kingsley was at the back of the bakery, he heard the bell of the door. He knew someone had entered the shop. He had to act fast. He knew he must not die. He had to live. He had to find the love of his life. He had to get rid of his mortal enemy. He had to live for his people. He tilted h
“Get out, King! Now! I will hold him off! Go!” shouted Emerson at the top of his lungs as all the bang-bang of the guns was deafening. Emerson and other bodyguards had made a wall right before Kingsley to hide him from the hail of bullets. The table and chairs had bullet holes in them. The metal ta
