The Moans

last update publish date: 2026-05-13 07:37:08

The moment Kingsley was at the back of the bakery, he heard the bell of the door. He knew someone had entered the shop. He had to act fast. He knew he must not die. He had to live. He had to find the love of his life. He had to get rid of his mortal enemy. He had to live for his people.

He tilted his head to look from behind a wall that safely had him hidden from everyone and saw two men dressed in black suits waving their guns all around, looking for him. Kingsley had to think of something fast. He was hurt; he could not run long distances. He had to stay put in the bakery, but he needed the goons gone. And the only help he could get was from the woman standing before him.

He looked in all directions and saw the bathroom sign. He started pushing the brunette towards the bathroom, but she kept fighting with him.

“Hmmm… hmmm,” her voice escaped, but thank god, it was muffled.

Kingsley had this strict rule: never work in the drug business or prostitution, but arms deals, extortion, and killing were fair game. The most important rule that he followed was to never hurt innocent people. And the woman standing before him was innocent. But in order to protect himself, he would have to threaten her. Her noises could attract the goons, and he could lose his life. He didn’t want that to happen.

He moved her inside the men’s bathroom and locked the door. He pushed her against the wall but kept his hand over her mouth, not giving her even an inch to shout. She started hitting his face, trying to get away, when Kingsley took out his gun and pointed it at her waist. The noises died down. She widened her eyes and looked at Kingsley in fear.

“Good! Good! Now you understand! Don’t make another… sou…” Kingsley was all snappy and menacing while giving her instructions, but he made the mistake of looking in her eyes. he immediately lost his voice. He didn’t even remember the words he was going to say. He just kept looking into her brown eyes with a wide mouth.

“I am telling you, I heard it!” a loud voice came from out of the bathroom. That brought Kingsley back to his senses. The woman wanted to shout, but the barrel of the gun pointed at her waist kept her quiet.

“On second thought, make some noises,” said Kingsley and removed his hand from her mouth. Without waiting for her permission, he snatched the hairnet out of her hair and pocketed it.

The woman tried to open her mouth, but Kingsley pressed the gun even deeper in her waist and warned, “No shouting, no shrieking. Moan! Moan for me!”

“W… h… at?” stammered the woman. The moment her lips moved, Kingsley gasped loudly. The woman standing before him was pulling at his heartstrings, and every single movement of her lips, every gulp on her throat, every movement of her eyelids was making his heart race. There was something about that woman that felt familiar.

Kingsley grabbed her neck and pressed her even more into the wall. “Just moans! Nothing else! If you won’t moan, I will first kill you and then kill every man and woman who will walk inside this shop, is that clear?” he gritted his teeth. For a second, he shut his eyes as the loss of blood and the bullet inside his arm was causing him pain.

The brunette gasped when she saw blood dripping from his arm. “You… you… are… bleeding,” she gasped.

“What did I just say? Only moans!” snapped Kingsley.

“I… I… don’t understand! I don’t… know… how!” stammered the woman.

“How does a woman not know how to moan? Are you trying to be cheeky with me?” chided Kingsley, and this time pointed his gun at her forehead. The woman stopped breathing, and tears started streaming down her face. Kingsley felt someone had ripped his heart out the moment he saw the tears. The light in the bathroom made her eyes shine even more, and he saw the gold specks in her eyes.

“Please moan! Just do that, and I won’t hurt you, I promise!” said Kingsley and grabbed the fabric of her skirt.

“What… are you doing?” she cried, and that sound attracted the attention of the goons.

“Help me, please!” said Kingsley, and this time grabbed his arm as the pain was increasing.

“Did you hear that?” asked the goon, and they came running towards the bathroom. The woman’s eyes were widened with shock. Kingsley started lifting her skirt, inserted his hand inside it and placed his gun under it, essentially hiding it from everyone’s eyes. But the gun was now pointed at her bare stomach.

“Just moan!” ordered Kingsley and placed his mouth on her neck, enclosing her whole body with his large stature.

“Fuck! This is locked!” shouted the goon. Kingsley was not ready for what came next. In one move, the two goons had broken the door, and the scene before them was a shocking one.

A woman and a man were entangled with each other. The woman’s skirt was all the way up, and the man was busy eating her neck out. The woman had her eyes closed, and her fingers were buried in the man’s hair. She kept moaning at the top of her lungs and had her mouth open, basically trying to catch her breath. Her other hand was placed tightly on the man’s arm.

She opened her eyes and looked at the goons and snapped, “what the fuck! Can’t you see we are busy? Get out! Get out! Now!”

“Sorry! Sorry!” shouted the goons and first lowered their eyes. They ran outside haphazardly and tried to close the door, but they had just broken it, and now it was hanging by its hinges.

The moment the goons ran outside, Kingsley lifted his head from her neck and looked at her, “You know how to moan, good to kno…w.” He lost his footing and was about to fall when the woman did her best to grab him and made him lie on the floor.

“You… you are hurt! God! You are losing blood,” cried the woman. She took off her apron and pressed it on the wound, trying to stop the bleeding.

“Your… your eyes… they have gold in them,” stammered Kingsley.

“Please, don’t talk, you are losing blood. Conserve your energy. 911! 911! Let me call 911.”

Kingsley started closing his eyes when the woman cried, “no, no, please stay awake! Please stay awake!”

“Rose!” sighed Kingsley and closed his eyes.

“Wh…at? What did you just say? How do you know my name?”

Emerson sighed after hearing Kingsley’s words. He knew that he was not only finding Rose for himself but also for his whole family. Everyone had waited for centuries to find that girl. Not only to give her the life she deserved, but also to keep her safe. A danger was looming over her head. An old enemy was hiding in the shadows to get to her. And he was not going to stop.“I wish that you find your Rose, King! I really wish!” said Emerson.“Yeah, let’s hope this time we get the good news!” Kingsley sighed too. He finally closed his eyes and decided to rest for a few hours. The whole hospital was crawling with Dia Lucrii. He knew he would be safe, but his dream of sleeping was crushed by the arrival of his doctor, Ernesta Cannon.“Mr Aguilar! Heard you regained consciousness and then went for a walk. Is that right?” said Ernesta and walked near Kingsley as if she was simply gliding on the floor. The ugly brown scrubs could not diminish her beauty. Her shoulder-length burgundy hair was

  • Replacement Bride: His Rose   The Best Friend

Kingsley first gritted his teeth in anger. He didn’t like Emerson noticing every tiny thing about him. But that was obvious. They had been friends since they were teenagers and were trained together to lead Dia Lucrii. One became the boss, and the other became his right hand. They were like two peas in a pod. They were best friends, best fighters, best marksmen and did everything together. He also hated the fact that a girl was affecting him to this extent. All his life, his heart had been searching for Rose; his heart belonged to Rose. And he hated the fact that some unknown girl was making him jealous and angry. Only his Rose could do that to him. No one else could. He sighed loudly and, without looking at Emerson, replied, “I don’t know. Trust me, I, too, hate the fact that I got jealous. I didn’t like it when he talked about you falling for her. Even if she is not my Rose, I don’t want anyone falling for her.”“What? Why?” asked Emerson.“I don’t want an innocent girl to get roped

  • Replacement Bride: His Rose   The Sorry Guard

Kingsley didn’t know why he felt jealous after hearing what Shannon just said. He didn’t know who Rose was or if she even was his Rose. He lost his Rose when she was merely four years old. She was a cute little kid who always kept fighting with him. She could not even pronounce his name correctly.Whenever they would meet, they would always fight. And when they would be separated, they would cry, saying that they missed each other. As Rose was younger than him, he used to give in to every one of her demands. She would sit on his chest, grab his hair and yank on it, and he would just end up laughing at her. Because after hurting him, she herself would end up crying. And the gold in her eyes would become more prominent. He still remembered her chubby cheeks, her bob haircut, her tiny fingers, her wails, her giggles, her little body, her little feet. And now that sweet girl must have grown. He had been searching for her for years. When he was a kid, Egbert used to look for her. In the mea

  • Replacement Bride: His Rose   The Powerful Family

Emerson was looking at Kingsley while he was busy talking to Deep. He informed Kingsley about everything his team had already done. They all kept walking behind Shannon to the security room. As it was situated in a quiet corner of the basement level 1, they had to get inside an elevator.“So, everything in that bakery is fine now?” asked Kinsgley.“Yes!” sighed Kingsley.Emerson then took out his phone and dialled Liliana’s number. Within seconds, she picked up the phone.“Oh, so you remember me now?” snapped Liliana. She didn’t wait for any greetings.“I always remember you, Lili darling!” mocked Emerson.“You son of a bitch! You always remember me when you have some work. What is it this time?” snapped Liliana, making Emerson laugh.Kingsley jerked the phone away from Emerson and spoke, “Liliana!” She immediately stiffened after hearing his authoritative voice. He was not rude; he was just nonchalant.“Boss!” said Liliana. Everyone could hear her standing straight with one word.“I h

  • Replacement Bride: His Rose   The Intelligent Nurse

Kingsley stopped at the door and looked around. There was no one in the room. Deep had gone to search the hospital for Rose. Kingsley moved ahead and stopped near the hospital bed. The blanket was half lying on the floor. The IV injection was dripping liquid drop by drop on the floor. He moved one step more, and his feet stumbled on nude-coloured heels. He looked at the heels with a deep sigh. Suddenly, he noticed the shoe size. “That girl was tall, so why are her heels so small in size?” he thought.“Oh no! Where is she? Did she yank her IV out?” shouted the nurse and ran to the bedside.“When you last saw her, was she alright?” asked Kingsley.“Yeah, I told you she was sleeping it off. But…” hesitated the nurse.“But what?” Kingsley’s heart was ready to jump out of his chest.“When we came here to check on her, we noticed a few drops of blood in her IV tube,” replied the nurse.“Nothing else! No one was around her? no one was lingering outside her room?” asked Emerson.“No! Nothing e

“Find her! Find her, Emer! Now!” shouted Kingsley. Emerson saw the panic in Kingsley’s eyes and gulped with fear. He had never seen Kingsley showing such emotions before that, too, for a strange woman. Seeing his fear now, Emerson was afraid too. What if Darcy had come back to finish the job? But why that woman, why would he try to hurt that woman, she didn’t see him, she just saw his goons. And if Darcy wanted to kill someone, why not Kingsley? But he knew the answer. Kingsley was under a lot of protection. No one could get to him, but to capture that woman, that was a fairly easy job. Emerson almost ran to the door when he saw that Kingsley was coming up right behind him.“What are you doing?” snapped Emerson.“I am coming with you!” shouted Kingsley. The sweat was dripping from his forehead.“Have you lost your mind? Don’t you see all these IVs attached to you?” Emerson started pushing Kingsley back into the room. “Do you have any idea how much blood you have lost? If not for that
