"Aysha." Adrian called out to me.

"Seems like you guys are having too much fun. Sorry to interrupt." I said mockingly.

"What the hell are you doing here." That word stopped me cold.

"What the fuck do you mean, what am I doing here? In my own fucking house? Are you serious right now, Adrian Damascus." This man had me fucked up.

"Your house. Please." Mira laughed, sliding into his shirt like the lover she clearly thought she was.

"Yes. My house. I'm his wife, and this house belongs to me."

"Poor you. You still think you're a wife." She smirked, dripping with confidence. "News flash, sweetie. You were never one."

I looked at Adrian, waiting for him to say something. Anything. He stayed quiet. He didn't even bother looking at me.

"What the hell is she talking about, Adrian." My voice shook.

"Did you ever stop to ask yourself why he married you and never once showed you love? This man abuses you constantly and your weak self just stays." She sat herself right on his lap like she belonged there.

"He loved me. That's why he married me."

She burst out laughing like I'd just told the funniest joke of her life.

"Love you?" She turned to Adrian. "Tell her, baby. Let her know since her nosy ass already caught us. Might as well spill it all."

She kissed him again, no shame, no hesitation, right in front of me.

"Fine, if you must know so badly." He shrugged like none of this mattered. "I married you to inherit my father's companies. It was the clause. Marry his best friend's daughter or lose everything."

My world cracked open. Twelve years of my life flashed in front of me and none of it felt real anymore. My knees buckled and I hit the floor.

"I... I don't understand." My voice broke. "You told me you loved me. We dated for two years. Married for ten. What the hell are you saying right now."

"The truth."

"I gave you twelve years, Adrian. Twelve fucking years. And this is how you pay me back? You used me. Why didn't you let me go the second you got what you wanted? Why drag this out? Why make me waste my life on you when you had nothing real to give me?" I screamed it through tears I couldn't hold back anymore.

"Because the clause said you had to be the one to leave. But you never would. No matter what I did to you, you stayed. No pride. No self respect. That's exactly why I could never love you. You're weak, Aysha. Pathetic. You were never built for a man like me." He glanced at Mira and smiled. "Unlike my baby girl here. She's a trophy. She's perfect."

He kissed her again, lifted her off the floor, and carried her up the stairs like I wasn't even standing there. Like twelve years of marriage had just evaporated into nothing.

I sat on that floor until I had no tears left to cry.

There was nothing left in me. No purpose. No reason to keep fighting for a life that was never mine to begin with.

I dragged myself up to my room and stood in front of the mirror. The woman staring back at me didn't look like me anymore. Her eyes were empty. Hollow. Like whatever made her alive had already packed up and left, leaving the body behind to figure out what came next.

This is how it ends, I thought. Right here.

The walls of my room suddenly felt too close, too tight, like they were closing in on me. I grabbed my phone and the few things I couldn't leave without and walked out.

The door across from mine was cracked open. I caught a glimpse of Mira straddling him, laughing like nothing in the world was wrong. Like they hadn't just destroyed me a few feet away. They looked happy. Too happy.

I didn't say anything. I just walked.

On my way down the stairs my eyes landed on the study, and my mind went straight back to the divorce papers I'd found weeks ago. I'd been too scared to face it then. I ignored it, told myself I imagined it. But now my feet carried me right back into that room.

The papers were still there. Already signed. His signature sitting at the bottom like it had been waiting for me this whole time.

I almost laughed.

"He really was getting ready to throw me away. Even without telling me." My hands were shaking as I picked up the pen. "Guess I'll save him the trouble."

I signed my name under his and left it exactly where I found it.

Then I walked out of that house for the last time. No looking back. No second thoughts.

I got in my car and drove. I didn't even know where I was going, I just needed to be anywhere that wasn't there.

My hands were still shaking when I picked up my phone and dialed a number I hadn't called in years.

It rang twice before it picked up.

"I need you. Please." My voice cracked.

"Aysha? What's wrong. Where are you?" His voice was sharp, alert.

"I'll send you my location."

"Don't move. I'm coming. I'm on my way right now."

I hit send on my location and let out a breath I didn't know I'd been holding.

Headlights filled my rearview mirror.

Too close. Too fast.

I barely had time to register it before the impact threw my car off the road, metal screeching against metal, the world spinning around me in a blur of light and noise.

Then nothing.

Unknown POV:

"It's done."

"Good. Your payment has been sent."

He hung up the phone and looked out at the wreckage from a distance, watching the smoke curl into the night sky.

"Sleep well, Aysha," he muttered. "You won't be waking up from this one."

  • Return Of The Ex Wife   Nice To Finally Grab Your Attention.

Aysha POV:"Where in the world is this man." I said to no one in particular.I've been waiting eagerly for Adrian to come home. I don't know why he's taking so long to get here."What if he decides not to come home tonight." I bite my lips anxiously."Oh fuck, I can't afford for my plans to get ruined all because of a stupid prank." I panicked, thinking about how this could be a waste of time.I went to check on the food and realized it had gotten cold. I quickly threw them into the microwave to reheat it while I kept peeping outside, just in case he drives in.The food finally got done and I decided to leave it in until I hear his car pull up.I called Martha to know if she had arrived safely."Hey dear, I just wanted to check up on you, if you've gotten there safely?""Yes ma, I have. Thank you so much for the break. I hope you're having a good romantic day with Sir.""Well.... I will, when he gets home.""Sir hasn't gotten home yet?""Not yet.""That's strange, he seems later than

  • Return Of The Ex Wife   10th Wedding Anniversary

Aysha POVI woke up with a positive mind, excited about the day already. I looked to my side and noticed Adrian didn't sleep in last night."Where the hell did he go to.""Didn't he sleep home last night?"I got up, quickly showered and got dressed. I stepped outside, trying to find any trace of him in the house, I even checked his study but I didn't see him."Martha?""Yes ma.""Did my husband come home last night." I asked."No ma.""Did he call or leave any word at all?""No ma. Nothing. I was up late finishing the laundry and I didn't hear the door at all.""So he just didn't come home and didn't say anything.""I'm sorry ma.""Oh. Okay..."I checked my phone. No message from him."I wonder where he is. Today is our anniversary, he should have at least spent the morning with me. He couldn't even send me a romantic message to wish me."I tried calling him but to no avail. Eventually a text came through."He can't talk right now, he's in a meeting."Pretty sure Mira sent this, but I

Aysha POV"I see you finally got that place cleaned up." Adrian said as he walked through the door.I nodded, still a little shaken up."Good. Well I need you to get dressed, there's an event this evening and unfortunately you'll be going with me. Don't embarrass me with your plain Jane look. Try to look less ugly. Be ready in two hours." With that he went out of the room.I checked the time on my phone, it was almost four. I quickly went to take a quick shower to get a fresh look. I already had a dress in mind.In less than two hours, I was finally done getting ready. My husband hates waiting, so I knew I had to be quick before he leaves me.I had on a black strapless gown, with a slit at the side. It was a present from my mother. For my look, I went with a little more flashy makeup, definitely not my style but it will do for tonight. I curled my hair, put on my LV heels, sprayed my perfume and I was ready to head out."Took you long enough." He said as I walked down the stairs."I w

CHAPTER TWOAysha POV"Ma, what have you done?"Martha's voice broke through everything. I let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding."Ma, you're bleeding, come on, get up, let me help you to your room."She reached for me but I pulled back gently."It's okay, I have to clean this up first, he said before he gets back,""Ma." Her voice was firm but soft, the way only Martha could manage. "That's my job, let me handle it, please."I looked at the mess, then at my hand, then back at her face. She wasn't moving until I did."Fine," I whispered. She helped me up slowly, one hand supporting my back, the other careful around my injured hand. We walked to my room quietly, the hallway feeling longer than usual."Why do you keep letting him do this to you?" she said as she sat me on the edge of the bed, already reaching for the first aid kit she knew I kept in the bathroom cabinet. "He keeps downgrading you, insulting you, embarrassing you right in front of that woman. Why can't you ju

  • Return Of The Ex Wife   Millions of dollars !

CHAPTER ONE Aysha POV I woke up to giggling. Not just any giggling, the kind that's too comfortable, too familiar, the kind that doesn't belong in a married home at this hour. I sat up slowly, blinking the sleep out of my eyes. The sound was coming from across the hallway. Adrian, My husband's study. I tied my robe and padded toward it, telling myself I was probably imagining things. "Oh Adrian, you're so funny." The voice said again. I stopped dead in front of the door. That's Mira, his personal assistant . My stomach twisted upon realization . I pressed my eye to the keyhole, because I wasn't allowed near the study. Adrian made that clear a long time ago. "That room is for important people and important things," he had said one night, not even looking up from his desk. "Unfortunately, Aysha, you are neither." That felt like a knife to my skin. I looked through the keyhole and what I saw made my chest cave in. Mira was sitting on his lap. Right there, comfort
