LOGINHelena was looking outside through the window as she was now bracing for her new life to unfold in the world of the man whom he didn’t even know a bit. Remembering the man, Alpha Louis Montville, makes her stomach churn for some reason.
Her mind was wandering around, thinking how she would deal with him. She had already heard things about him. Although she already has experience with how love works, there is just something about the things she heard about Louis that she could properly differentiate from Darren—her ex who was stolen by Ingrid herself.
But at the same time, she believes that being in an arrangement where both of them don’t have deep feelings for each other would be alright. She could handle it, knowing that during her time when she was Alana, she got even no time to mourn for the love she lost because it was replaced with betrayal.
Why are you still holding on to a love that ruined you, Alana? It should be easy for you to move on because he cheated, and it’s not your loss. She thought to herself, but the happy memories she had with him were always overshadowing the pain that she felt like it was her fault; she was not enough for him, and she should have done something to prevent him from cheating.
She was irrational. Her mind was filled with her past until she didn’t notice that the car already entered a private place with a big gate that could see through what was inside. But as much as she wanted to see the place, there was still a road, and the sides were filled with pine trees, as you could clearly see the open space of the green forest.
Her lips parted. She had seen the Asher’s place, and knowing that they were already rich in her eyes, the Montville’s was something else. Her eyes roamed around and she saw a property, a house that was bigger than theirs, but she was confused about why the driver hadn’t stopped yet.
“Isn’t that the house?” I asked.
“Oh, that’s just the guest house,” the driver said, which made her jaw drop.
She cannot imagine the power Louis Montville has knowing that he is also an alpha himself and is leading a powerful pack which is how her mother told her about how important the Montville is to their family.
She can clearly see now when she gets a sight of the big house, which tells her immediately that it is Louis Montville’s own house. She was getting goosebumps at how extravagant the house was and she could tell that it was two times bigger than the Asher’s property, or even more than that because she had seen a lot of small houses on its sides and she had no idea about what it was.
It took them how many minutes before they arrived right in front of the big balcony with a marble floor, and there were twenty maids waiting on the sides, waiting for her entrance.
As soon as the car stopped, the doors were opened by one of the maids; the rest took her things as she was guided inside, the double big doors opening as the maids bowed their heads for acknowledgment.
She was flushed. In her entire life, she hasn’t been treated like a princess because her parents weren’t really that caring. And even her friends, those she trusted, suddenly threw her under the bus and sided with Ingrid instead. It was like all her life; she had been manipulated and taken for granted.
“Alpha Louis is in his office, but he told us that once you are here, we will inform him.” The maid spoke to her respectfully.
She nodded as she was now guided upstairs, in a big spiral carpeted staircase, which was just too wide, and she could smell how high-ranking the Montville are in society.
As soon as she was guided into her personal room when it was opened, her eyes widened in disbelief. She was still adjusting to the lavish life the Asher’s have, and to see how her room was two times bigger than her previous room in the Asher’s household, she felt like it was a dream that was just too impossible to believe.
Her things were arranged by them as she roamed her eyes around, walking around and looking at each of the things that were there, as everything looked so expensive in her eyes and she could barely touch it, afraid that she might ruin it.
“Just call us if you need anything, Miss Asher. We will inform you if Alpha Louis is not busy anymore,” one of the maids, which is her personal, said politely.
She nodded and was left alone as she sighed and decided to wear something comfortable. Her life is just so sudden—a plot twist she didn’t expect, and she seems like dreaming because everything is just too hard to believe.
An hour later, a personal maid, who introduced herself as Anna, told her that Alpha Louis prepared dinner for the both of them and she needed to wear a fancy dress, which was delivered in a box including some jewelry.
How lavish. It was what she said as soon as she opened the box and realized what kind of woman Alpha Louis likes. Or maybe he just wants her to match his intense stance that she must also look good once she is beside him.
So she showered, wore the black satin dress and the earrings, which were pearls, and decided to put her hair into a slick ponytail, highlighting how small her face was.
Putting make-up on Helena’s face, she realized that Helena had an alluring beauty compared to her sister. She is indeed a goddess when you look at her face clearly, with those slight dots of freckles on the bridge of her nose that weren’t too visible unless you looked at her up close, her almond-shaped eyes, and the way how her long lashes are curvy. Ingrid might be pretty, but Helena’s beauty is mind-blowing the more you stare at her.
When she went down, she saw Louis, who was in his suit, standing in the wide living room, hand on the other side of the hips, as he seemed to be conversing with someone on the phone while his thick brows were furrowed.
He was talking to someone else when he accidentally glanced at the spiral stairs and took a second glance at his talking stopping when he looked at Helena.
His brow only arched, his expression unreadable, he said something to the phone and dropped the call. The man might have shown a little reaction, but Helena could feel he was slightly impressed that she wore the dress he wanted.
“Let’s have dinner,” he said casually and even walked straight to the dining area instead of waiting for her to finally come down.
Arrogant. It’s what she eventually said to herself because of how rude Louis was, who seemed to be showing no remorse for being that cold.
She was wondering if Louis had even been into a relationship or experienced heartache, at least to be that cold. She was thinking that he might be heartless for a reason, and he had once experienced a rough heartbreak like her to be that less interested in women.
Not that I wanted him to be interested in me, but I am just curious if men like him have those kinds of sweetness in their bones or have room for love to admire a woman at all.
It was bugging her mind, but she chose to ignore it as she was guided by the maid to the dining room, where Louis was already sitting.
The table was big, and she was expecting to sit next to his side since it seemed like a forty-seater table, and yet she was placed on the edge away from him.
“Isn’t it…uh…too far?” she whispered to her personal maid, which is Anna, who pulled the chair for him.
“Alpha Louis hates loud noises when he is eating. And he always wants no one in his side when he is eating,” Anna responded.
Well, obviously. Helena could see clearly how distant Louis was that he wanted space, literally. But she didn’t mind it at all. She just agreed with the agreement because she was satisfied to see Ingrid losing the things she wanted to have, which is why she accepted it.
Although Louis is making him feel things because of his overwhelming effect, overall, she doesn’t really mind him. She knows that she would not fall for him so easily, knowing that he is so rude and he doesn’t like men like that.
But your ex cheated, huh? You fell in love with the most toxic man existing, and who knows whom you are falling in love with next…
It was what her mind was screaming about, teasing her like she would bend her words any minute once she would stay longer in Louis’ household.
When they started eating, Helena could not believe that there was a lot of food being served and yet there were only two.
“Uh, isn’t the food too many? Aren’t you guys eating?” She asked and looked at the maids standing, inviting them to join.
Anna gestured to stop it, knowing that Louis’ brows furrowed. He seemed distracted by what she said because she got his attention.
“Focus on your own food instead, woman,” he demanded critically.
Helena could feel the coldness of Louis while they ate. He was serious in his own chair, and he didn’t even lift his eyes to look at her, as if he didn’t exist at all.As much as she wanted to talk, she didn’t want to cause awkwardness as well. It seems like they are both on the same page that was only after the arrangement to help with the family business and nothing more.Helena was actually having fun with the food being offered because it tasted good, but she could not help but get annoyed at why the maids weren’t eating. Anna would just gesture at her that it was okay and she should stop being worried about it.She then looked at Louis, who was just eating. She is now wondering how her days would look under the roof of the man who has zero interest in her. After eating, Louis stood up first, while Helena was hesitating on what to do as well. Anna smiled and gestured to just follow Louis, who was now heading somewhere. Can’t he talk? What am I, his dog? He should be communicating

Before that night, while Helena was watching her maids pack her things and she was telling them what to bring and what not, Ingrid appeared in her room with a serious expression.Helena got a sight of her in the mirror, and she could vividly see the envy that sparkled in her eyes; the desperation was just too strong, and she could already see it coming.“Come out for a while,” she said to the maids, who nodded and bowed before walking out.Helena remained a poker face, trying to appear innocent in her sister’s eyes when she was already a sheep in a wolf’s clothing.“What is it, Ingrid?” she asked.“I am here to actually talk to you about the sudden burden our family has given to you,” she said worriedly, but Helena could see through her pretentious worry because she had already revealed her evilness to her when she was Alana. And she doesn’t want to be fooled by her anymore.Ingrid held her hand and looked at her in the eyes worriedly as if she were the most concerned and overprotecti
It wasn’t easy for Helena to take in what she just heard. Does this mean she has to marry someone she didn’t know?Alpha Harold spoke for his daughter, “Father, Helena just woke up from a five-year slumber. I think it is too early for her to be engaged and have a mate,”Alpha Leon waved his hand in response. “That’s nonsense. This had been pushed for so long. And I think that’s actually a good reason for Helena to be married now. She’s of the right age now. She already missed a lot. Besides, this is an agreement that has long been arranged between our families,”Ingrid was so quick to back up her father, the envy she was feeling inside was slowly consuming her, “But grandfather, Helena lost a few of her memories. I think it’s best for her to recuperate first instead of jumping into something that she isn’t ready yet,”Whoever heard Ingrid would think that she was sincerely concerned for the wellbeing of her sister but the truth is, there were so many things that were running on her mi
It has been a week since Helena woke up and she was already able to walk within the house. Everyone was treating her like she was a fragile doll. Her mother had been on her case since the moment she woke up.“Helena, just tell our servants what you want and I will make sure you have it. You have missed five years of your life. Don’t hesitate to ask because I am sure your father can give it to you. We are one of the most powerful families in Emerald Ville. Money and power will never be a problem,” her mother told her.‘Will you give me your oldest daughter’s life?’ Helena wanted to ask but she stopped herself. She simply nodded to her mother and just let everyone pamper her with love and attention. She wants to use her condition to her advantage. The servants would follow her around wherever she goes even when she stays in the garden as she thinks.Sometimes, she would ask the servants some questions, asking things about herself and her family. The doctor already told them about Helena
“He’s mine now, Alana. Don’t you see? Nobody really wants you. Your parents turned their backs on you. Darren loves me now…You have no one…”Ingrid’s voice kept echoing in her head. Her voice sounded demonic, and piercing pain shivered down through her skull as she felt like everything was breaking within her.‘No!’ she was screaming inside her head. But then the voice that was haunting her wouldn’t stop.“No one will look for you once you die. Blame yourself for your pathetic life,”‘Stop!” Alana kept screaming, wanting the voice to stop. Her heart was beating violently inside her chest.“Did you really think I stayed with you because I truly see you as my best friend? Deep inside I wanted to vomit every time you hugged me. You disgust me, Alana,”‘No! Make it stop!’Alana was running. Her feet were hurting and she didn’t have to look at them to know that there were wounds on her legs and blood all over her body. The white long dress she was wearing was now a mixture of black and red
