LOGINAYANNA
I turned off my phone and begged the taxi driver to hurry so I could get to the house before Alex. Only then could I come up with an excuse for my absence at the party today and quell whatever suspicion he had about me and Rain Blackwell.
So far I was only tolerating him and keeping my affair hidden because I didn't want to be labeled a cheater first. If my affair got out first, it could ruin me especially. Alex on the other hand would just spin things in his favor and escape so I had to find proof that he was cheating first.
The taxi soon pulled up in front of the house, I quickly paid and made my way into the house. It was dim and quiet. By now the house keepers had already retired for the night and Alex was yet to return. I heaved a sigh of relief tossing my phone on the bed as soon as I entered the bedroom. I took off my dress and freshened up before getting into the bed. No matter how much I tried to sleep, I couldn't. Memories of what happened at the party kept haunting me. Rain Blackwell'd last words to me. I certainly hope he hadn't meant it. But a man like him didn't seem like one to make empty promises.
I was soon pulled out of my thoughts when I heard footsteps approaching soon Alex walked into the room. I pretended to be asleep hearing his movement halt, his gaze taking me in.
"Ayanna?" He called out with surprise in his tone.
Slowly I opened my eyes, pretending to have been deeply asleep. I lazily stretched and pulled myself up a little to look at him. "Oh hubby you're finally back," I said with a feigned yawn. "I had a terrible stomach upset at the party, I couldn't wait and I didn't want to disturb you. My phone also went dead so I couldn't text you. Forgive me."
I had aways been the one to apologize even when he was in the wrong. I didn't want him to be angry with me because I loved him so much. Now I looked back I couldn't help but realize how pathetic I had been. However, Alex would never suspect me because he still harbored the thought that I loved him too much I would never lie to him.
Gradually, the harsh expression on his face eased and he strolled toward me, lowering himself onto the empty space beside me. "It doesn't hurt anymore does it?" He asked, bring his hand to touch my stomach with a pained look on his face. "No matter what, you're my wife, you should have told me about it. How can a party be more important than you?"
"I know how much you love me. You'd readily abandoned your important work just for me that's why I didn't tell you. But you don't have to worry I'm feeling better already. Go take a shower and come lay with me."
Alex nodded and stood to go do as I said though he suddenly halted his steps when he reached the bathroom door turning to me.
"When did you meet the Blackwell heir and why didn't you tell me about it?" A scowl appeared on his face briefly before he replaced it with a pretentious smile. I feigned being apologetic too.
"Oh...you know I wouldn't hide such important piece of information from you hubby. It's just that when I met Mr.Blackwell I didn't know about his real identity because he had hidden it. We only worked together for a month and then I didn't see him again," I said, not lying but not saying the complete truth either.
"Oh I see," Alex replied looking lost in thoughts.
"Hubby, that Mr.Blackwell seem to have a bad attitude, look how rudely he treated you," I scoffed." In my opinion, he doesn't even come close to you. You're more handsome than he is," I almost laughed at my lies but I had to quell even the slightest doubt he had about my relationship with Rain Blackwell. Fortunately, he easily bought my lies and soon smiled in satisfaction.
"I believe you honey. You'd never lie to me, you love me so much."
"Of course I do," I blow him a kiss then watched as he walked into the bathroom. My expression quickly turning into a scowl. Stupid man.
How did I even fall for him? I certainly was stupid also.
I picked up my phone after I heard the sound of running water coming from the bathroom. It beeped a second after I turned it on. A message from an unknown number. Yet I couldn't help but feel as though the number was familiar. I clicked on the message gasping in shock my heart beating fast as I read it.
"My darling, have a good night rest. We'll meet again soon.
Your most beloved Rain."
I had deleted his number after I ended things with him. I never thought I'd see him again or he'd still have my number it's been a year after all.
I quickly deleted the message and blocked his number then I turned off my phone again. Even after doing so, I wasn't at ease. What could I do to escape Rain Blackwell. When I had drafted the one month contract, I had only included that breaking our agreement would lead to him paying a hefty sum of money because back then I felt that a gigolo like him wouldn't be able to afford it.
But that amount was like a pinch of sand for someone like Rain Blackwell. Even if I included a harsher penalty like sueing him or locking him up in jail, he was a Blackwell none of those would do any harm to him.
I pretended to be asleep when Alex walked out of the bathroom. My body went stiff when he climbed unto the bed beside me, pulling me closer so he could cuddle me. I rolled my eyes enduring until after he fell asleep before pulling myself from his arms.
...
The next day at noon, I had to walk the runway for ITfashion latest collection. My makeup artist was applying the finishing touch of my make up when my phone beeped. It was a text message from an anonymous number. At first panic sets in thinking it was Rain Blackwell, nevertheless I mustered the courage to open the message. It was a photo of Alex and a woman. Though the woman wasn't visible I could tell by her physique that it was Kate.
They were both standing in front of the city hospital, for what reason though was Kate sick? Though I was greatly intrigued. I couldn't abandoned an important show for the likes of them.
"Wow, you look unreal," the makeup artist, Alicia praised after she was done. I smiled politely as I spoke. "It's the makeup."
"Oh come on. Don't be so humble. Even without the make you look ethereal."
I was about to thank her when the boss called to me that it was my turn to walk the runway. I smiled at Alicia before walking away. The show took about an hour when it was over, I drove to the hospital. I had gotten another message from the same number asking me to go to the hospital that Alex was still there with Kate waiting for the doctor.
I wanted to ignore it. Perhaps Alex was just accompanying his mistress to the hospital because she was sick. But then there was a what if in my thought. So I disguised myself and drove to the hospital.
With each step I took toward the ward the anonymous person told me Alex and Kate were, I felt my heart beat increasing. I came to a halt by the door, I didn't want to look suspicious so i just sat on the waiting chair outside the ward. Soon a doctor walked out of the ward, glancing my way quickly then walking away. I peeked through the half closed door seeing Alex and Kate hug passionately.
Looking around and making sure no one was there. I walked closer to the door to eavesdrop on their conversation.
"Alex, I'm carrying your child are you happy?."
"Of course I'm happy. You're the one carrying my child so I'd be happy. If it were Ayanna I would have found a way to make sure she loss the child."
Kate laughed at his statement then she said. "How could she even get pregnant when you made sure she wouldn't."
ALEX Ayanna's chauffeur dropped her off in front of the Elite hotel. One of the many hotels belonging to the Blackwell's. I didn't want to jump to conclusion that she was meeting with Rain Blackwell just because she came to one of the Blackwell's hotel. It could be someone else, a friend, a client yet I couldn't shake the initial feeling off.Dressed in a backless red silk dress that clung to her body like a second skin, Ayanna drew the attention of all those who passed by as she gracefully walked into the hotel. My phone beeped just then and I looked the message that appeared on it, not mine but Ayanna's message to the anonymous person she was meeting."I'm already here, see you in a minute."Rage surged through me as I read the message, my grip tightening on the stirring wheel until my knuckles turned white. I desperately hoped my intuition was wrong, that Ayanna wasn't cheating on me. The mere thought ignited an unadulterated rage. That she was no longer useful to me didn't make i
ALEX What the f*ck. This place was creepy as hell. An abandoned warehouse at the outskirt of town. It was hidden in a maze of trees I wouldn't have found it if not for the use of GPS. Who the hell was this psychopath who knew about my affair with Kate and what did he want? Why make me come all the way to a place like this?I parked my car in front of the warehouse, heaving a sigh as I slowly stepped out. My legs trembled as I walked and adrenaline course through me at the thought of finally meeting whoever this person was. I'd come alone like the anonymous person instructed but I'd shared my location with Kate just in case.Distant howl echoed through the forest and I trembled in fear increasing my pace toward the warehouse. The door swung open with a shriek when I pushed it and I flinched, glancing around before I walked in. The places was empty, except for the table which sat at the middle of the room with a single lit candle which dimly illuminated the place. The anonymous person
RAINmy expression changed the moment I arrived at grandfather's mansion. Though the dinner was supposed to be by 8.pm I came by 9.pm. purposely delaying to avoid much of the family drama. Heaving a sigh, I walked into the house. Their loud voices welcomed me even before I got to the dining hall."That arrogant brat, he has absolutely no regard for us his elders. Everyone was here by eight except him. If he can't even respect us now, what happens when he finally wears the crown," that high pitched annoying voice belonged to Vivian Blackwell, my second aunt. She was maniputive. Always looking for ways to remove me as the heir of the Blackwell family and give it to her son even though he wasn't a Blackwell."You do make a good point Vivian_ once I wear the crown as the head of the Blackwell family, the first thing I'll do is strip off your right to the Blackwell name. You're married now, you should take your husband's name, stop clinging to the Blackwell name so desperately. Secondly I
"Mr.Blackwell, it is said in your file that you have an unhealthy obsession with a married woman."She looked up for the file with a curious expression and I shrugged."It's not an unhealthy obsession. It's more like an intense obsession and love for her. I desire to claim her for myself, to protect her even if it means killing the bastard she calls her husband. I'd say the urge to kill him grows each day. I sometimes find myself fantasizing over it," I smiled sadistically as I spoke. Suddenly this therapy session didn't seem so absurd I now had someone to share my sinister intentions with. She observed me for a while, an unreadable expression on her face."I'd like it if you address me as Margaret, going forward. she finally broke the silence. "How about you tell me more about this woman, when and how did you meet her?"I thought back to the time I met Ayanna. You probably thought it was the night she approached me at the club. However Ayanna and I met long before that, I was probab
After I left the room I returned to the guest room where Ayanna was, kissed her forehead and lips before leaving....As soon as I walked into my living room, I found Mason sitting on the couch, he slowly glanced up at me, disapproval written all over his face. I get him, it was almost 4 a.m and I was just coming back home after visiting a lover."I'll schedule you an appointment with a therapist to help with your unhealthy obsession," Was all he said before sauntering off to his quarters.Heaving a sigh, I threw myself into the nearest couch. Could my obsession really be cured? Perhaps I should give it a try. I pushed the thought aside as I pulled the spare phone I bought recently from my pocket. It had a chip installed in it to make every call and text untraceable.I smiled sinisterly as I typed a message pressing send before closing my eyes to sleep.Morning came in a flash, I groaned as I stood up, the aroma of food filling the air. I checked the time on my phone, it was 7.am. ju
I gently removed his hand from my shoulder, heaving a sigh as I turn to face him. "Not tonight Alex, I had a long day but go take a quick shower and come, I'll put you to sleep."Reluctantly, he left and I breath a sigh of relief as I resumed drying my hair. By the time he came out of the bathroom I was in my pajamas sitting on the bed. As much as I wanted to sleep before he came, I couldn't bring myself to, not when he was after my life.I helped him dry his hair and helped him into his pajamas like I always do, then I pulled him to bed with me, making him rest his head on my thigh then I slowly massaged his head while humming a soft melody. I always did this. To him I was showing him affection, that may have been the case yet right now I was simply putting my enemy to sleep so I could sleep also. Once I heard his snores, I patted him several times to be sure he'd truly fallen asleep, carefully removing his head from my lap before leaving the room with my pillow. My phone beeped as
The atmosphere was tensed as soon as I walked into grandfather's office. He shot me a glare throwing the file he was holding at me. Several pictures fell out and I immediately picked them up seeing the familiar faces on it."How did you know?" I asked as I scan through picture by picture. I needed
AYANNA I hid in the boot of one of the vehicles belonging to the men who'd come to Rain's Villa_Mason as Rain had addressed him. Being a light sleeper, I'd woken up right after his phone beeped, sneaking out to eavesdrop on his conversation with whoever had come to the villa. I listened to their
Everything became blur. If I felt my world crumbling down when I caught Alex cheating then now my world completely shattered with no hope of repair. Whatever lingering love I still had for him, completely died and replaced with hatred so pure it rivalled the immense love I'd once felt for him. "It
"I can deal with this for you but then you have to make a deal with me." I hesitated, knowing I wouldn't like whatever deal he wanted to offer but right now he had the upper hand, so I had to agree to whatever he wanted . "Okay. I agree,"I said through gritted teeth.Slowly, Rain let go of
