“Let me touch you the way you touched me…” He began after a pause. “Take off your bra, Sophia.”
Were these the words that changed everything for Sophia? I think not. This twisted, yet beautiful chase started way before this day. Way before she ever found out that she was arranged to marry him in seventy-four days.
‘He said no sex until we get married, but why are we doing this?’ Sophia thought, as her head went white with shock. Despite her attraction to her fiancé, she couldn’t believe what was happening.
“Come here.” He said.
“I’ve not—”
“It’s okay. Just come.”
She obeyed, moved slowly, and sat back in his lap.
But he wrapped his arms around her. Her body grew tense instantly. Unsure and wanting, she clenched her fist.
“Relax, Sophia,” he whispered while pulling her against his chest and noting the rapid rise and fall of hers. “You have nothing to be worried about… You made me feel good. I want to make you feel better… Okay?”
She nodded without meaning to.
Despite the noise in her head, in a few minutes, she did as he asked—peeled off her bra and chose to feel better.
After all, what was she expecting when she followed a seducer home? A week ago, he’d given her a teaser. Eight months ago, he’d given her his number.
“You done?”
“Mm,” She could only mumble.
“Sit with your knees out. Back against my chest.”
Sophia did so clumsily.
The second his bare hands slithered into her dress from the halter opening, her breath fractured.
He covered her completely.
Her hands lifted to touch his, to slow him a little. But—
“Don’t do anything until I say you should,” he breathed in her ear. “Just feel.”
A moan came out of her. Heat filled her up, and soon, she started to melt.
He talked her through it, praised her through it, and stayed as her guide as she experienced something new.
It felt wrong yet wonderful at the same time.
“Don’t stop moving… ” He murmured just before her body went still.
Piece by piece, she was losing brain cells. Every inch of her felt tuned to him, helpless. But he wasn’t relenting just yet.
“Grip my leg, Soph…”
She couldn’t feel her hands. She was almost gone.
He kissed her cheek.
Sluggishly, her hands found his thigh, holding on as she sighed.
“Glide.” His voice dropped, scraping sinfully down her spine. “Easy, slowly…”
And this was all it took to blur the line between choice and obedience.
She moved when he pushed her forward. If only she knew that after this, resistance would no longer be simple.
“That’s my girl.” He whispered, stroking her arms gently. He’d successfully let her into his world and planted a seed of obsession in her.
From this day, Pandora’s box opened up, and by the time Sophia understood what escaped, the wrong eyes were already watching.

One week ago…
Alexander’s POVEyes closed, head thrust back against the headrest as Garvey silently drives to the penthouse, tonight’s events plague me. One event in particular steals air from my lungs; I keep taking deep breaths. Exhaustion rocks my body, possibly from the jet lag or all that’s weighing on me:“Where are you both going for the honeymoon? What about the license?”“When does Sophia move in? Can she stay back for a few days after the wedding? I know we can’t come over, but I’d like to buy some things for your home…”“My Sophia is so fragile and catches a cold easily. I trust you to take good care of her.”“Do you have maids? Live-in maids?”“I’m so grateful you agreed to have the wedding before the due diligence is over. Those pending lawsuits and regulatory approvals would have gotten in the way if we were to wait. My daughter is happy it’s you.”‘Who do you like?’ “I’m gonna tell you soon.”“Go inside, my baby…”“Go inside, my baby.”My head pounds and spins at the same time, like
Sophia’s POVChanged into a simple blue dress and blue sandals, I unlock my door and step out.I freeze.“Sophia!” Hannah exclaims, eyes bright and happy, standing right outside my door. She opens her arms.“Hi,” I mutter with a smile, embracing her. “It’s good to see you again,”“It’s always amazing to see you, Sophia.” She enthuses, squeezing me as we both giggle. She lets go, finally, and takes a step back. “Your mom let me come up to see you… We’re leaving.”“What? No. Why?”She chuckles, taking my hand.“Your mom’s actually the one who wants us to have dinner, but she’s fed us so many snacks already, and I gotta put Abel to bed. I was just hoping to see you before I left… Actually, Christian and I dropped by to, um, invite you and your family over for brunch at our parents’ on Saturday. My parents return tomorrow because of the anniversary party on Sunday night. You’re aware of that, right?”I nod, thinking of my black or pink outfit options. “But if I left it to Joel to tell yo
Sophia’s POVMy brain wants to dwell on why my fiancé has a mute chauffeur and why I’m just finding out now, since meeting him almost two months ago, but Hannah is here? What a surprise. We exchanged numbers at my engagement party, but she does not enjoy chatting or calls, so we’ve only checked in on each other a few times. I hope she came along with little Abel. Alexander’s jaw is taut as he stares at the car, and I can’t help but wonder what he’s thinking. Still holding my hand, he glances at me; I avert my eyes, and he starts moving again. I follow, taking quick strides to catch up despite his slow steps. When we get to the porch, I start to slip my left hand out of his hold, but his grip tightens.I meet his eyes.“What are you thinking?” He questions, features softening into a small smile as he holds my gaze. My heart thuds nervously.I don’t want anyone to see us holding hands, especially my aunt. He turns to me, lifting his fingers to my face. No, not here. Not here. But m
Sophia’s POVIt took Garvey an hour and a few minutes to get to where his jet was going to land. He’s been driving for a while now, so we should be almost at my home. However, I’m still seated in Alexander’s lap, arms curved around his neck, face in his left cheek, and my body very aware of his; it’s warm and hard. He remains still. His arms are loosely wrapped around me, and his eyes are closed. But every few seconds, a flash of heat ticks between my thighs, and I replay what I did several minutes ago. I’ve never wanted to die of shame so much in my whole life. Maybe I would have jumped out of the car if he hadn’t resorted to tickling me. With every iota of self-control, I keep my thighs pressed tightly together, avoiding any movement because I fear I’ll kiss him and start moving again; one of my girls can literally feel a barbell. That’s not all, some dangerous thoughts have been running through my mind for the past few days, ever since those open-whatever panties that I’m yet to
Alexander’s POVI ground my jaw, thinking for a second. Then I turn down the volume of the music.“Sophia?” She still wouldn’t move or utter a sound. Only the rising and falling of her chest against mine and the slight trembling of her body tell me she’s very much aware of what she’s just done.Firming my hands on her hips, I pull her away from me and sit up.Hands on my shoulders, she keeps her head down, allowing her hair to cover her face.“Look at me.”She lifts only her eyes to glance at me, and then drops them again. I turn on the starlight headliner to see her face clearly. Her lips press together, twitching and twisting, face still flushed. Streak of tears has dried up on her face.“Is that how much you missed me?” I tease, pinching her left thigh. Her brows immediately snap together, eyes falling to where she’s just been pinched. Then she lifts her eyes to mine. I hold her gaze, watching the struggle on her face—the struggle not to avert her gaze.I take her hands, lifting
Alexander’s POVGarvey goes inside the Rolls-Royce and shuts his door.Instinctively, my nose gravitates toward her neck, dragging in her scent like it’s air. I wrap my other arm around her and just stay there like I’ve got all the time in the world. She sobs softly, warm breath caressing my jaw. Her body shakes on each sniffle she makes. And soon, I start to stroke her back, gently, patiently, allowing her to let it all out. Her arms squeeze even tighter, stopping my breath, as if I’d vanish if she lets go. But she’s allowed.I move toward the car again. Leaning low, I put my head inside and bend to put her on the seat, but she twists her legs behind me, refusing to let go. Wow.Distance has nothing on her.“Soph?”She responds with a tiny sniffle, releases her legs, then withdraws her hands. And carefully, I drop her on the seat. She keeps her head bowed, manicured little fingers curling in her lap—a sign of her nervousness, after doing something this gutsy. What irony. Her nails
Sophia’s POVHe breaks our kiss, hands going still on my thighs. I lock gaze with him, seeing how dark and dilated his pupils have turned. He’s panting just as I am, looking unusually unsettled. His face is frozen—an expression of shock I don’t miss. My body trembles, but I shake my head weakly, l
Sophia’s POV“It’s a guest bedroom,” he says, rolling the strap of my purse around his knuckles. I stare at my purse, mouth dry and open. I don’t know if it’s shock from learning that I’m spending the night in his bedroom or from having my purse snatched from me. My phone, my money, my passport—all
Sophia’s POV“Your daughter’s run away?” Alexander utters as if it’s news to him. He takes the phone off his ear, taps the screen, and switches to loudspeaker.“Sophia’s never acted out like this,” my dad’s frantic voice echoes. “She’s just… she’s a little sensitive…” My heart shatters.“The news m
Sophia’s POV“Y-your bride?” I stammer. His eyes glint with something unreadable, like an almost predatory amusement. It’s all the answer I need. The man I’m to marry is Alexander Thorne? This lethally beautiful, seducing billionaire, who’s spent the past months haunting my quietest thoughts? An eng
