EVIE POV

“Disguising yourself as a boy to go to an all boys academy is insane!” Mom yelled, looking at me like I had gone insane. “Especially when the school in question isn’t exactly known for being kind to its students.”

“Don’t you get it Mom?” I cast a look at my Dad for help. “The school board said there’s no evidence that suggested that Ethan was bullied despite the bruises all over his body. Once I’m able to get the evidence to prove it, Ethan will finally get the justice he deserves.”

A sound came from the doorway, pulling us away from our argument to look at my twin brother Ethan. Seeing him standing there, looking confused, wounded and hurt makes my chest hurt the most.

Anger stirred up in my guts at what has been done to him. Ethan has always had a hard time due to his autism. Growing up together means I was always there to protect him, until we had to go our separate ways for college.

It was a decision that was hard on both me and our parents, but Ethan was determined to fly solo. He wanted to experience life without me hovering around, which I understood even though it hurt to be separated from him.

Despite him being an hour older than me, I was always playing the role of big sister. One could imagine my excitement when he was given a scholarship to study in Relics collage, an academy for the elites only.

Usually only the sons of Alphas, Betas and other wealthy members of the pack could attend due to how insanely expensive the academy is. My brother, being a genius, became the first student to be awarded a scholarship into that school.

However everything came crashing down a week ago. Ethan was being bullied, at first it was scratches—which he managed to hide from us for a few days. Then the injuries got bigger and harder to hide.

“Ethan…come here.” Mom quickly wipes her tears, gesturing for him to come closer.

“Don’t let Evie go…” he whispered, looking down. “They are evil… Kaden, Logan…and Jordan.”

I winced inwardly, turning my back on him to hide the tears blurring my vision. It doesn’t matter what my parents say, I’ll make sure those bastards pay for the nightmares they’ve brought upon my family.

“Darling, I hate this as much as you, but Evie may have a point.”

Hearing my Dad say that, I spun around, my face lighting up at the support. “Tell Mom please, we can’t let them get away with what they did to Ethan.”

“What is your plan then?” Mom demanded after glaring at Dad. “Because there’s no way I’m throwing another one of my children to the wolves. This is all my fault, I shouldn’t have agreed to let him go.”

My mom hasn’t stopped blaming herself ever since the whole thing unfold. I wish I could make her understand that none of this is her fault. It is those bastards and I won’t rest until I make them pay.

“I—”

Dad interrupts me, shaking his head. He motioned for me to take Ethan back to his room. I did exactly that, realizing he needs the privacy to convince Mom to let me do this.

The plan is simple: set them up, film the evidence and send copies of it to the cops, and the school board. Let’s see if either of them can argue with the evidence.

Ethan's grip tightened on my arm as we reached his bedroom, pulling me away from my thoughts.

“What is it?” I ask him calmly, urging him to sit down.

He shook his head, his eyes wide and frightened. “Don’t go… they are evil.”

“Which is why I need to go, people like them should be locked up in a cell. What they did to you Ethan… it’s cruel and I won’t let them do it to someone else.”

“They are evil…” he repeated, clearly not paying attention to my words. “They will hurt you, Evie.”

Moved by his concern, I forced a smile. “So because you went to a fancy school for a few months, you’ve suddenly forgotten how tough I am, huh?”

Folding my arms across my chest, I feign anger.

“You’re tough, but—”

“No buts.” I place my pointed finger on his lips, using it to shut him up.

“Evie?”

I turned at the sound of my name, rising to my feet, I walked over to our Dad.

“Are you able to convince Mom?” I inquired, pausing for his response.

He nodded. “But only for a week, if you’re unable to get the evidence in a week, she has sworn to come and drag you out of there by herself. And I fully support your mother on that.”

Filled with happiness, I threw my arms around him. “Thank you so much! I should have no problem taking Ethan’s identity.”

Turning to my brother with a mischievous grin, I say. “See? It pays to be an identical twin.”

He turned away from me, his eyes clouded. My heart dropped, not having his support hurts but knowing I’ll earn his forgiveness after I expose the demons who are responsible for hurting him.

In the two days that followed, I went through a complete transformation. Cutting off my long dark hair to mirror the same haircut Ethan has. I borrowed his uniform and IDs.

“Remember, you only have a week and if you run into any trouble, call me or your Mom immediately.” Dad reminded me, dropping me off at the gate.

“Seriously, I will be fine.” I reassured him, leaving over to kiss him goodbye.

I waited until the car drove out of sight before making my way into the school premises. Having been here only once when Ethan wanted to enroll, I had stared wide-eyed at the building structure and marveled at the beauty of it.

But after knowing the horrors that goes on in there, it became a haunted castle to me. Taking a deep breath, I make my way to the Dean’s office, aware of the curious eyes I was getting.

“Ethan Moonstone, is it?” He didn’t bother to mask his surprise, to be fair my Mom did make a scene about my brother never coming back the last time we were in his office.

“Yes, sir.” I responded in a voice I am hoping sounds like Ethan.

He eyed me, a line of wrinkles forming on his forehead. “It’s good to see you again, hopefully this time you won’t be causing any scene. It took the board a lot to make up for the accusations you filed against our star pupils.”

My fingers crawled into a fists at his words. I wanted to slam them onto his face until my knuckles blistered with blood. Despite the anger stirring up inside me, I force a smile.

“That won’t happen again sir.”

“Good, have a wonderful semester.” He dismissed me, going back to the porno he was watching before I came in.

No wonder every student in there is a rotten piece of shit, I mean… look at what the Dean is watching in the middle of the day.

I had barely stepped foot in the hallway before I was shoved into a commotion by the rushing students. They gathered, forming a circle. Joining the crowd, my mouth flew open at the scene that unfolds in front of me…!

EVIE POV My eyes flickered across his face, wondering how I never noticed until now. Probably because I’ve never looked at him long enough, his eyes were dark with a hint of blue I know are fragrant of his wolf. I blushed, lowering my gaze when he furrowed at me in confusion. “You were staring.” He remarked, taking a step back. “Because it’s hard to imagine Damien being one of you guys,” I lied. What was I supposed to say? That I was staring at him because it suddenly hit me how fucking hot he is? Clearing my throat, I trailed behind him as we began to depart from the building. “Probably explains why the arrangement only lasted a few weeks.” He continued, peeking at me over his shoulder. “Come on, I’ll walk you.” “Walk me?” I echoed, having no idea what he was talking about. “Your tutoring class.” Oh, the lack of excitement didn’t go unnoticed by me, due to the fact that I was actually looking forward to skipping class. Not wanting him to misunderstand the situation or anythi

EVIE POV A commotion happening outside my room woke me up around mid-noon the following day. At first my brain didn’t fully grasp it since I just became conscious, but the voice wasn’t coming from my head that’s for sure. Climbing out of bed, I poke my head through the door. My eyes widened at the scene unfolding in front of me. Jordan stood at the entrance, collecting cash from people while Logan led them around the lounge. Some guys were throwing darts—and one almost got thrown at me as I let the rest of my body out. Some were by the pool table, it took another minute for what they were doing to register to me. “You’re charging people money to play the games?” I inquired, stopping by Jordan’s side. His eyes flickered at me for a second. “A tour you mean? We had to make money somehow since you asked us to trade our bodies for favours.” I smacked him, earning a low chuckle from him. My lips parted to deliver a retort when I caught sight of someone opening the door to my room. I

EVIE POV Despite being broke, they still turn their nose down at the cafeteria food. Which is hilarious because the meal served there looks like something out of a restaurant. Apparently that wasn’t up to their standard. Gloating over their misery, I shoved Jordan back in his chair when he tried to leave. Grabbing four sets of trays I made my way to the lunch table, today was self served so none of the servers were present. I was on the verge of serving the first one when someone wiped one of my trays to place their plate on it. “Hey—” I paused, seeing that the culprit was none other than Damien. Deciding to let it go, I went back to grab an extra plate. Upon returning, the rest were gone as well, used by his minions to serve themselves. “You know there are plenty of trays still available for use right?” I hissed, dropping the one I just bought. “I don’t see your name on them, finders keepers.”“Of course, who else are you going to pick on if not the weak? You already got beate

EVIE POV Cricket's silence followed after Alfred's question. Any chance I had of slipping away was gone. The attention is on me now, and Alfred is looking at me like the Alphas summoned me from the pit of hell like some sort of demon. Although I was a bit surprised that he was able to piece the puzzle so fast, I mean he had only seen Ethan and I together once. While a few days ago…weeks even, him knowing would have meant something. But now? My mind was made up about the Alphas, I don’t want to leave until I bring them to their knees, unless I am the one walking away with the last laugh, I don’t plan on going anywhere. “Evie?” I let out a long forceful laugh. “That’s just something they say to make fun of me for looking identical to my sister. I mean… we aren’t identical twins for nothing, am I right?” Alfred's eyes narrowed at me, obviously not pleased with being gaslighted. “If Alfred was stupid, my parents wouldn’t hire him to be a pain in our behind.” Kaden interferes, tighte

EVIE POV I let out an audible gasp as I bumped into Logan, who happens to be in front of me. He moved so fast it was like a blur and the next thing I knew, he held me captive against the wall, while glaring down at me. “I don’t like the way you were looking at the new guy…” he hissed in a voice that’s surprisingly calm. “You mean with relief?”My heart skipped despite my word, because I knew if any of the Alphas find out about my growing crush on Asher, then the both of us are going to feel the burn of it. “Relief that you guys aren’t the only people I’m being forced to interact with on a daily basis?” Not giving him a chance to respond, I took the first escape opening I saw. Dunking under his arm, I made my way back to the dorm where I knocked on the others door, then waited for them to come out of their room. Logan entered the room just as Jordan was emerging from his—shirtless. I tried not to look directly at him, only sneaking a peek without raising my head. In that moment,

EVIE POV I went to the auditorium to wait for my new tutor after lunch with the Alphas. There was no secret agenda which I still found a little shocking by the way, they just wanted to have lunch with me. When they first showed up to dragged me there, I thought I would be forced to witness after torture session. Aside from the playful fight that broke out between Jordan and Logan, nothing out of the ordinary happened. But I’d watch the interaction closely, still not able to make sense of their bond. I dread asking any of them anything relating to their bond as I recalled the first time I asked Jordan, he had tense up and his eyes flew into defense and guarded. Whatever the bond between them is, they are always trying to protect it. In their own very twisted ways, I kind of admire that. Maggie and I shared that bond too—except ours is healthy, normal and we simply call it friendship. We’ve known each other since we were six—still thinking about her makes me very emotional. At time

EVIE POV Prying myself from his grip, I glanced around the cafeteria to find everyone staring. Refusing to be intimidated by any of them, I straightened up, directing my glare back to the aggressor. “Can I go back to my brunch now?” I hissed out, straightening out my crumbled shirt. Why the hell

He was really good with his tongue.” I

EVIE POV Dragging myself off the floor, I hurried towards the door once Jordan left to insert the lock. With my back pressed against the door, I catch my breath, squeezing my thighs together to stop the ache. As the want for release climbs even higher, leaving me numb to anything else but the bur
