Inside a magnificent ballroom, glasses clicked and voices chatted slowly.

Elena was standing at the edge of the crowd like a hawk. She watched her husband accept congratulations from admirers. He looked so handsome in his tailored suit, so confident. Pride swelled in her chest despite the ache she was feeling.

She approached him, keeping her voice soft. "Congratulations, honey. I'm so proud of everything you've accomplished."

Aaron's smile vanished. He grabbed her elbow and pulled her aside, his fingers digging in hard enough to bruise.

"Don't call me that," he hissed, his eyes darting around nervously. "Don't call me honey in public. Someone might hear you and know that we are married."

The words were knives cutting her heart.

"But I am your wife"

"Not here you're not." His tone was final and cold. "Do you understand? No one can know."

Elena nodded, blinking back tears. She understood perfectly. She was his hidden wife that no one was supposed to know about. But that broke Elena.

She desired to be by his side and be recognized as Mrs. Aaron Walton.

"I understand," she whispered.

He released her arm and straightened his tie, his charming smile snapping back into place as he saw someone important approaching. He walked away without another word, leaving her standing alone.

Elena wrapped her arms around herself, suddenly cold despite the warmth of the crowded ballroom. She should leave. She should have never come.

"Aaron."

That voice. Sweet and venomous.

Elena turned to find the sensational Tiffani Cavalli, a business woman as well, wearing a red dress that probably cost more than Elena's yearly allowance. Her perfectly glossed lips curved into a smile that didn't reach her eyes.

Tiffani moved past her, heading straight for Aaron. Elena watched as she whispered in his ear, her hand resting possessively on his arm. She saw the way Aaron's expression darkened, the way his gaze snapped to her.

He excused himself and crossed the room in long strides.

"Elena, what are you still doing here?"

"I... I thought I should be here to support you."

"I didn't ask you to come." His voice was low, but the irritation was unmistakable. "You should go home. This isn't the place for you."

"Aaron, please,"

"Go home, Elena." He wasn't even looking at her anymore. His eyes tracked back to Tiffani Cavalli. "I'll see you later."

The dismissal was absolute.

Elena's throat tightened. She nodded, not trusting her voice, and turned toward the exit. Each step felt heavier than the last. Around her, people laughed and clinked glasses, celebrating success and wealth and connections. Things she would never be part of.

She was almost to the door when she heard Tiffani's laugh ring out behind her.

"Oh, excuse me!"

Elena turned just in time to see the waiter stumbling forward, his tray of red wine falling too fast for her to dodge. It soaked through her dress, dripping down her face and arms. The tray clattered to the floor.

A cruel, mocking laughter erupted around Elena. People began taking pictures and making videos of it.

"Oh my God, I'm so sorry!" the waiter stammered, his face pale with horror. "I didn't see you."

Around the room Tiffani had a wide smile.

"How clumsy," Tiffani cooed loudly. "Someone should really watch where they're going."

Elena stood there, dripping and humiliated, feeling every eye in the room on her.

She searched Aaron' s eyes. She already knew he wouldn't defend her. He'd probably be mortified that his secret wife was causing a scene.

She pushed through the crowd, ignoring the whispers, and burst through the hotel doors into the cool night air. Her heels clicked frantically against the pavement as she fled down the steps, not stopping until she reached the sidewalk.

Only then did she let the tears fall endlessly.

Three years of being hidden, of being treated like she didn't matter. And for what? For love? He didn't love her. He was ashamed of her.

Her phone rang, the sound jarring in the quiet night.

Elena pulled it from her purse with shaking hands

"Hello" Her voice cracked.

"I have news about your family."

She froze.

Some months back she registered on a website that helps unite missing family members. There were a lot of testimonials concerning the site. When Elena signed up she wasn't expecting anything positive.

"My family?"

The phone almost slipped from her hands.

Four black luxurious cars pulled up in front of the hotel in perfect synchronization. The doors opened, and four men stepped out surrounding Elena in a protective semicircle. The streetlights illuminated their faces, and Elena's heart skipped a beat.

They were stunning. All of them. Tall, impeccably dressed, with features that could have been carved from marble. But it wasn't their looks that made her freeze.

The Andersons brothers. A wealthy and powerful family.

"Elena," the tallest one said, and his voice was deep with emotion. "We've been looking for you for so long."

"Who are you?"

"We are your brothers and you are our lost baby sister.”

She sealed the box with tape without saying any other word from her mouth. She made sure that the tape was completely sealed and pushed it away. She did not want anything that would take her back to the lifestyle that she was already putting out. Now it’s going to be a new, different version of Elena. She let us smile but she was not ready to leave the house for that day. It was just her alone in the house so she didn’t have any reason to panic at all. By evening, nothing remained in the room that reminded her of Marilyn. Finally, she achieved her plan but what remained was what every other person outside was going to say, especially Aaron if they heard of the news. Although she didn’t plan to say anything to anyone. She walked onto the balcony. The cool wind brushed against her face. Then she took a deep breath and let it out calmly, staring at the whole city from her view. Below, the city continued moving as if nothing had changed. Cars drove past. But actually, nothi

Marylin stood alone in the large bedroom, staring at her reflection in the mirror. There has been a lot going on in her mind, but she has decided to keep it to herself. The woman looking back at her was beautiful, elegant, and flawless. Sometimes she looks at herself and wonders why she is going through so much trouble when she is just supposed to sit back and relax self But she was not real. She has thought about going back to her real self but it’s not something that was easy for her to do. She lifted a trembling hand and touched her smooth cheek. Underneath the carefully designed face was someone else. Someone she had kept in hiding for months. Someone named Elena. She closed her eyes. “How much longer?” she whispered to herself. The room remained silent. She had spent months pretending to be Marilyn. She had smiled when she wanted to cry. She had acted innocent when her heart was full of anger. She had worn expensive dresses, expensive jewelry, and a face that neve

The discussion did not continue with a call again, it continued with the meeting with each other inside the black SUV car that was just by the street. He was already here before he even called her and all she did was just go out to meet him.“I hired you because you said you could find answers.” Marylin didn’t give him any room to talk too much. “And I still believe we will.” He muttered. Marylin shook her head. She didn't really believe in him because his confidence was beginning to sound empty. For weeks he had repeated the same promises. But there was nothing that was bringing progress, and he didn’t look like he was doing anything serious. For weeks she had listened. But nothing had changed. Meanwhile, she felt trapped inside a mystery that refused to move forward.“The stalker knows everything,” she said quietly. “He knows where I go.”“Yes.” D Seer responded immediately. “He knows who I meet.” She Snapped. “Possibly and he always stays one step ahead.”The investigator was si

Marylin had never imagined that finding the truth would be this difficult. She thought that she was never going to agree with him, but it was all a joke when everything started. She couldn’t just see herself going against the private investigator. Even while she was supposed to be at peace without bothering about anyone looking at her or watching her every move, she noticed that D Seer constantly sent his personal assistant, Grey, to watch everything that she did. He wouldn’t come out of the plane, but decided to stay in the dark. I know exactly how everything was going. Sometimes she even wonders how he managed to get all the information about what is happening around without even telling a word to him.A full month had passed since she had an agreement with the investigator to uncover the identity of the mysterious stalker and expose the person responsible for the crimes hidden inside Anderson Company. They had already come a long way and she just had to make that decision so that

After a brief pause, the investigator continued speaking. “The people behind this planned everything carefully.”Marylin’s expression immediately became serious as she listened to every detail he explained.“They knew where you would be.” the private investigator added.Marylin nodded slowly. “I know.”He continued without stopping. “They understood the security at the club.”She answered quietly, “Yes.”Then he added, “They even had people waiting outside.”Marylin took a deep breath before whispering, “They’ve been watching me.”The investigator nodded. “They have.”She swallowed hard as fear slowly filled her heart once again. But was it really fear? It could not be fear in her mind because she was doing everything deliberately, and she knew exactly what she was getting herself into.“If they’re watching me…” she whispered. The investigator remained silent, allowing her to finish her own thoughts. “…then maybe they already know who I really am.” Her voice became much quieter by the

Marylin arrived home very late, but then she could not complete her meeting with the private investigator earlier, so they decided to meet outside her house. She immediately took her bath and then changed to something simple before she left the house like she was taking a walk around the street.Just a few minutes walk from her main house, a very clean car, parked by the side of the road, quickly turned on the engine and then drove towards her. She hesitated for a while, and then quietly looked through the glass by the door, Greg immediately stepped down from the driver's seat and opened the car door for her to enter.“We have been waiting for you.” That was all he said, but she did not respond to him. The guy she wanted to talk to was inside, probably waiting for her too. The investigator sat behind the driver’s seat with the engine switched off. Their car was parked in a quiet corner of her street. People walked in and out of the building, completely unaware of the serious conver

Aaron had already walked closer to her so there was no way to escape from here again. She had no other option but to stand and listen to him.“You came early,” he said quietly.Marilyn forced a calm expression onto her face. “I work here. Of course, I came early and I was sure that you already knew

“You are never going to learn because you don’t see any reason for you to carefully study what is happening outside of your environment and know how to handle it properly.” Aaron had constantly thought about this word several times. He tried several times to convince Tiffani, but it was completely

From the way the assistant was looking at Aaron, it was already obvious that she was scared to tell him the truth. But somehow, she managed to see it out, although her voice was a little bit calm.“Because of your past business connections with the Anderson family, sir.” Aaron’s assistant responde

“And you also said you were fine while lying unconscious in a hospital bed,” Kelvin shot back sharply. They were trying to sound calm, but the look on their eyes was saying something else, especially with the fact that their own sister was acting a little bit stupid. The nurse quietly looked away,
