Chapter Four

Bella’s chest rose and fell. At this point she was hyperventilating.  What was he doing in his office tis late? Alex was always the first to leave the office. She didn’t know what would happen next. Was her job at risk if she disobeyed? She walked slowly towards him. She had sweat dripped down her palms and her heart raced.

“Sir” she muttered. Alex smiled. “Mr. Kendrick” she began. Oh it was Mr. Kendrick now. Alex thought

“The other day you called me Alex” he rasped.

“I am sorry sir” she said.

“Why are you here?” Alex asked.

“I had some work to finish” Bella said. Alex patted the seat beside him. “Come “he said. Bella looked at the seat and back at Alex. She walked slowly and sat and the end of the seat.

“I haven’t been seeing you lately” he said.

“It was just work” Bella replied. 

“Are you sure?” he asked and she nodded.

“Well I thought you were running from me. Bella stared at him. And for a moment she had pity on him. Was the office work getting harder? Did he need to go on a vacation?

“You are staring” Alex ran his hands through his hair.

“Oh” she muttered. “I am sorry Alex” 

Alex felt some relief that she had addressed him with his name. The formalities made it known that he was distant to her.

“Are you in pain” Bella asked. Alex slowly lifted his head and gave her a good stare. Bella began to regret speaking in the first place. 

Alex smiled sadly.” You do know you are part of the source of my pain. You rejected me” 

Bella looked away as the memories of their breakup came flooding through her senses. 

“But presently you are not the source of my pain” he said.

Bella took in a deep breath. “I wish I could help. Maybe if I was your body guard or your driver—“she saws interrupted when Alex snorted.

“Don’t make me laugh. I have lots of people who are ever willing to do that” he smiled sadly then he went stared at the lips. “You damn know well, that is not what from you”

 Bella sat motionless. She was thinking of what net to say, when Alex grabbed her by the shirt and roughly pulled her close. She could perceive alcohol in his breath. And his cologne. Its scent never left her brain. She tried to be free from his grip but he pulled her closer. She gasped when she was an inch close to kissing him.

“You are unlucky today” he rasped. His eyes slanted as he stared at her lips.

“You are drunk, I will call the driver” she said trying to be free.

“Where have you been avoiding me?” he asked

“No I didn’t….I didn’t avoid you. You are a busy man so I let you be” Bella stammered and tried to look away but he tightened his grip on her hand. It was almost painful. That got her attention.

“Liar!” he hissed harshly. . His eyes intent on her lips. No matter how she tried, she just couldn’t look away from him. Those icy blues always had her in a choke hold.

“Alex please let me go. You are drunk and you won’t remember anything tomorrow”

He smirked.” Isn’t that better”

“Alex if you don’t remember... I will not forget” she begged. Her heart raced as his eyes roamed her face and stopped at her lips.

“Good. You will remember. That will be your punishment” and then he slammed his lips on hers.

Bella’s POV

His tongue delved into my mouth in a slow intense fashion. What was happening? I couldn’t believe it.

He grabbed my neck and deepened the kiss.  My tongue shyly stroked his tongue and joining him in a slow sensual dance. It was drugging. I was slowly losing control. I knew I had to stop but it seemed impossible. He was slowly making me lose myself in him. In this kiss.

 I pulled away from him quickly. What the hell just happened? I clutched a hand to my mouth to hide my panting. No one has ever kissed me like this.  I opened my mouth but no words made it out.  My heart pounded in my chest. 

“I... I... I think I need to leave”.  I said in a ragged breath. I stood up and tried to fix my shirt.

I just wanted to tell Alex that this was a mistake. All this was not some acting to seduce him or something. I never knew he would be in his office. I just wanted to do my job and leave. I watched his pupil dilate. His gaze was now dark. He looked like a complete different person. His lips were parted as he engaged me in an intense eye contact.  His gaze flickered from my eyes to my lips. Those icy blues would be the death of me. Damn! He was hot. 

“So?” he murmured standing. I began walking to the door, ignoring the fact that my boss and my ex, still wanted me. Even though I broke his heart years back.

I took one step back. “Huh” I stared at him in wide eyes and my mouth went dry. I took two more steps and bounced. I was against the wall.  In a swift move Alex covered the space between us. He held my waist in a possessive and intense grip. Pressing himself against me.

“What if I wanted it?” he murmured.

“Huh?” Alex‘s gaze never wavered. I open my mouth to speak but nothing makes it out. He has rendered me speechless. I knew this was bound to happen that was why I was running.

Alex pressed himself on me and I could feel his bulge against my leg. “You feel that? That is what you do to me” 

I swallowed.

 His eye lingering on my lips. My breathing was now faster and more audible. He leaned in more and titled my head to face him. I bit my lips.

“I want to do that to you” he muttered and immediately plunged his lips into mine and also grabbed my ass. Need shot straight to my center as I melted into him. I was no way going to fight this.
