KAIREN

“So you're saying she's never been in heat but she's been mated before?” Heira asked, her brows furrowed, her nose hitched up a bit.

“Yes. Apparently, he wasn't her fated mate. More like her chosen mate.”

Flinn stood to his feet, letting out a sigh. “None of this makes any sense.” He started pacing. “How crazy is it that she coincidentally had her first heat on the night you both met?”

“I wouldn't think that far, if I were you. Didn't she already go into heat before she met him?” Valios

  • THE LYCAN KING’S STOLEN MATE.   Chapter 47

MERILYNI held Kairen’s gaze, looking deep into those differently coloured orbs. My lips parted to give him my default answer but something kept pushing, deep in my chest, a willingness to tell him everything. I looked down at my fidgeting fingers. How do I start? Where do I start? Kairen’s hands came into frame, gripping my hands in his. I looked up. “Talk to me. I promise, no matter what you say, I won't judge. Instead, I'll help you find a way through it.” It's okay, Merilyn. It's okay to be wanted, to be loved. And for that, you have to let go. I did that once… ten years ago. And look what happened. Just because it happened once, doesn't mean it'll keep happening. You can't live the rest of your life alone. I searched Kairen’s eyes and realized that even though his reason for wanting me was majorly because of what I could offer him, I still wanted it. That experience of being chosen by someone so fiercely. Whether it was lust or something else. It was strange and mind-bl

KAIREN“Kairen, I asked you a fucking question. Merilyn isn’t your mate, is she?!” “She is.”“Don't you dare lie to me! It's impossible! It goes against everything we believe in. No one would stand for this.” I sighed, “Don't make this an issue.” “An issue?! It's already a freaking abomination. How could you do this?” Her pupils darted back and forth in panic, “Kairen—”“I don't owe you an explanation, Lorelei. Merilyn is my mate and that's all you need to know. As for whatever you found out, don't you dare spill a word of it to another soul.” Lorelei shut her mouth and looked away, her hand tightened into fists at her side, her brows pulled in the middle. “Now, that aside. What happened to Merilyn tonight?” She shrugged, “How would I know? Do I look like her watchdog?” “You were there, you saw what happened to her and yet, you stood by and watched it happen.” I held up a hand when she opened her mouth to speak, “I honestly don't care about that. All I'm asking you to do is tel

  • THE LYCAN KING’S STOLEN MATE.   Chapter 45

CHAPTER 45 KAIREN’S POV Could this be it? I looked at the necklace, stared at the broken clasp. The clasp was broken alright, and it was fixable… it just didn't look like something that would have broken accidentally. If it were, this wouldn't be the first time it would get repaired in centuries. It looked more like something someone broke apart on purpose. Even that was more confusing. This heirloom was indestructible. It was forged from blood, and magic and spells and of course jewels. It couldn't have broken off that easily…or had the magic worn out over the centuries? Was that it? I glanced at Merilyn, her hand wrapped around her pillow, eyes closed and chest rising and falling with each breath as she slept. Absent-mindedly, I placed the broken necklace on the nightstand and brushed my knuckles over her face. A content sigh escaped her lips and she went right back to sleep. She must have realized just how important this jewelry was. If not, she wouldn't have worri

  • THE LYCAN KING’S STOLEN MATE.   CHAPTER 44

THIRD PERSON’S POVBy the time they returned to the pack, Merilyn was barely holding it together. She'd bolted out of the car, hurriedly making her way towards the entrance of the castle. The plan was to lock herself up in her bedroom before anyone even realized she had returned. But fate clearly had other plans as the sound of Kairen’s voice drifted in the air. She tensed, clutched her purse tighter against her chest and raced up the stairs. Fortunately, by the time he appeared, she'd disappeared round the corner and he hadn't seen her.“Do you think we should start the construction now? Wouldn't it affect the other activities of the factory?” Valios asked as he and Kairen looked over the blueprint of the building plan in his hands. “No, it shouldn't interfere with it. It's better if we start it now and…” Kairen trailed off as he looked up.His brows furrowed as he stared at the car that took Merilyn to the ball. He glanced at his watch and realized barely two hours had passed.

MERILYN My shocked gaze fell on the necklace. How could this be the necklace? Of course it wasn't. That lady was just confused. But looking up and seeing the way everyone eyed me warily, she clearly wasn't. “You haven't answered me.” Penelope pointed her fingers at my neck, “Why do you have it on?!” This has to be some kind of mistake. Raskia’s Necklace wasn't just any family heirloom. It was a symbol of power passed down from generations to generation, it belonged only to the Luna of Lunas. Kairen couldn't have given it to me. It had to be a mistake. “I don't owe you any explanation.” I said, trying to keep my voice from trembling. Another Luna scoffed, “You either tell us where you got it or you get arrested for theft?” I frowned, but before I could talk the Luna who saw the necklace spoke out, “What if it's her?” She said cautiously. Murmurs filled the air and I even saw Penelope go pale for a second before getting her colour back. “It's not impossible

  • THE LYCAN KING’S STOLEN MATE.   Chapter 42

MERILYN Althrough the night, I kept thinking of what Lyn said. I barely got a wink of sleep until very early this morning. Maybe I shouldn't have told them about the King and I. It wasn't like he was professing his undying love for me. It was just the usual rumpling in the sheets. Keep telling yourself that. I sighed. “My Lady, you're all done.” Gwen said, as she made one final swipe of gloss on my lips and stepped away. My eyes opened, taking in my reflection in the mirror and for a second, I couldn't believe my eyes. I pressed the tip of my fingers against my cheek and leaned in, “Wow,” “You like it, right?” “Like? I love it.” I grinned. “I look so beautiful.” “Meh,” Gwen shrugged, “I didn't do much. My lady already looks beautiful from the start.” I smiled and stood up, walking up to the full length mirror in my room before twirling in front of it, “You really should give yourself some credit.” My heels clicked against the floor as I came to a stop,

MERILYN“LUNA!” The loud shattering of ceramic shot through the air; shards flew all over the place. I froze mid-step and stared at the broken ceramic bowls. “Oh, that’s bad.” I stared at the maid; her face had gone pale, her eyes filled with dread as sweat dotted her forehead. “I’m sorry. I didn

MERILYNThink carefully. Or I might kill you if I don’t like your answer.I jerked awake with a scream. My eyes darted around searching for the threat, looking for the three-headed monster that had hovered over me, threatening to kill me. My stomach churned, cramps squeezing the life out of my or

MERILYNI silently followed the men as they led me away from the airport into one of their very luxurious cars. “Please,” the man gestured, and I got in. Fear oozed from me like an open dam. My hands clutched my bag tightly, and my eyes kept darting to the man seated next to me. How on earth had

KAIREN“Wh-where are you taking me?…” She drawled as her jelly legs made their way across the pavement. She reeked of alcohol and something sweet. Her scent has grown stronger in the last couple of minutes. “Ohhh, are we going to get laid?” she giggled, limply leaning on me as I held her up. “W
