Lucy POV
"Luna Lucy, you're pregnant." The pack doctor's words sounded so unreal, as though they were spoken from a distant dream. My chest immediately tightened, my fingers trembling as they curled into the edge of the chair. The stark clinical room suddenly felt suffocating, the air too heavy to breathe. “Pregnant?” The word rolled off my tongue, foreign and weightless. It couldn’t be real at all. It shouldn’t be real atleast, even though have been waiting for this moment like forever. “Yes,” the doctor confirmed, her voice calm but firm, as though she had uttered the words a hundred times before. “You’re pregnant, Luna.” I blinked at her, searching her expression for any sign that she was joking to me. A cruel mistake? A misdiagnosis? Surely, it wasn’t true. My heart beat wildly in my chest, hammering against my ribcage like it was trying to escape already. “Are you sure about that?” My voice wavered, my hands gripping the armrests of the chair tightly. Without hesitation, the doctor handed me the scan results. The proof stared back at me in black and white. It was undeniable at this point. The faint outline of life inside me, a miracle. I was actually pregnant. For a moment, the room spun, and I felt as though the world had tilted off its axis. After good five long, agonizing years of waiting to have a baby of my own. Five years of shame, whispers, and pitying glances. Five years of wondering if I was broken, if I was unworthy of being a Luna of a pack, of being a mother for the Beta. Now, at last, I had the answer I had been praying for over the years. “I... I don’t know what to say,” I whispered, tears pooling in my eyes at this point. A mixture of joy and disbelief flooded my heart at almost same time. I gently placed a hand on my stomach, the thought that something so precious was growing within me almost too much to bear. The doctor’s face softened, her voice taking on a soothing tone. “It’s still early, but everything looks healthy and good. Congratulations, Luna.” I nodded absently, my mind racing with anxiety. What would this mean for me? For my mate? For the whole pack? The joy was quickly tempered by a creeping unease. Not all pregnancies in the pack were celebrated equally though. Not every mate reacted with happiness to such news. I knew the traditions, the unspoken rules that governed our world. Would he be happy? Would he... care? The thought sent a chill down my spine. As I stood to leave, my legs felt shaky, as if the weight of the news had rendered them weak. The doctor gave me some parting instructions, but her voice was drowned out by the storm of emotions raging in my head. I left the clinic, the scan result clutched tightly in my hand. The cold breeze outside did little to cool the flush on my cheeks. I looked down at the paper again, as if to reassure myself that it was real. Pregnant. I was pregnant. I should have been ecstatic. I should have been running to tell him. But instead, doubt and fear gnawed at the edges of my joy. Five years without a child hadn’t just been a test of patience, it had been a test of our mate bond. A bond that had started with love and devotion but had grown strained with every passing year. His words still echoed in my mind. “If you can’t give me an heir, what’s the point of all this?” He had said it in anger, during one of our worst fights, but it had cut deeper than any physical wound on me . I knew he had resented me for years, though he tried to hide it behind a mask of duty. Would this change things at this point? Would it bring us closer, or drive us further apart? I hurried back to the packhouse, my heart pounding with every step I made. The halls felt colder than usual, the weight of the secret I carried pressing heavily on my shoulders. When I reached my room, I closed the door behind me, leaning against it for support. I stared at the scan result again, my emotions swirling in a chaotic storm. Finally, I allowed myself to smile, a small, hopeful smile. This was my moment, my miracle. No matter what happened next, no one could take this away from me. But as I turned to place the scan result on the bedside table, my hand froze mid-air. A scent lingered in the room, faint but unmistakable. It wasn’t mine. It wasn’t his, either. My stomach sank, a cold dread replacing the warmth that had filled me just moments ago . Slowly, I turned my head, scanning the room for any sign of disturbance. My gaze fell on the bed, and my breath caught in my throat. A single, unfamiliar item lay on the sheets. A scarf. It was delicate, feminine, and reeked of a scent I didn’t recognize. The scan result slipped from my fingers, fluttering to the ground like a dying leaf. My heart clenched, my mind racing to make sense of what I was seeing. The implications were clear, but I refused to believe them. No. It couldn’t be. Not now. Not when everything was finally falling into place. I looked around the whole apartment while trying to get something to understand, what I never wanted to do was to reveal that I was pregnant already. At this point, I hated myself. But deep down, I knew. Something was wrong. Something was very wrong.Lucy POVI hadn’t slept. Even though I wish for that. Not because of fear. Not because of doubt. But because Elias still breathed, and that alone kept my blood hot and restless.Me remembering my experience with him, made me hate him the more. From my tower window, I watched the horizon. Somewhere beyond those mountains, kira was slipping through his gates. Wearing silence like armor. Smiling with secrets packed between the crates of herbs she carried. If I’d learned anything from betrayal, it’s that it doesn’t always come with a blade or sword.Sometimes, it walks in politely… and waits. And sometimes, it comes causally with a smile.“Are you still up?” Daniel asked, stepping in with a fur cloak draped across his arms.“I told you not to baby me,” I replied.“You didn’t tell me to stop worrying about you either,” he said. “Mira’s been gone over a day. You expected faster results?”“I expected contact.” I turned toward the window again. “She’s never gone dark this long before.”He sta
Lucy POVThe flames had almost burned out, but I remained seated at the war table, staring at the list in front of me. Five names. Five ghosts of the past who thought they buried me along with my mother. Five beast who made me tear up. Five beast who stood as a friend but worst than an already known enemy. They were wrong.I picked up the quill pen beside the parchment, dipped it in red ink, and drew a long, deliberate line through Andy’s name. One down. The next name stared back at me like a challenge.Elias.The air in the room thickened just thinking about him.The Alpha who once sat beside my mother. Her advisor. Her friend. The wolf who kissed her cheek the night before the rebellion—then opened the gates for the ones who killed her.The one should as a best friend, the one who claimed to be the father I never had.I still remember the blood on her dress. The fear in her eyes as she realized the betrayal hadn’t come from her enemies, but from within her own pack. From him.I too
Author's POVThe moon hung low over Lucy’s territory, casting long shadows through the towering trees and stone-lined pathways. Inside her mini council hall, the fire burned low, embers flickering like the tension in the air, the past still playing in her minds. Maps were spread across the long oak table. Lucy stood at the head of it, calm but alert. Daniel leaned beside her, arms folded across his chest, while Rhea paced near the door, ever the watchful blade. They had been preparing for the next move. Ash was already dealt with, her downfall a carefully calculated blow that sent ripples through the surrounding packs. But Lucy knew better than to believe peace had finally settled. No, this was only the eye of the storm. The moment shattered when the doors were flung open with a thunderous crash.Beta Andy stormed in, eyes bloodshot, fury seething from every inch of him. His hair was matted, his clothes torn, and his aura was wild with barely restrained rage. Two unknown rogues trail
Lucy – POVThe sky split in half with the clash of thunder and fury. The battlefield had gone quiet—eerily quiet—as if the land itself was holding its breath and waiting for something.Ash stood across from me. Her long coat whipped in the wind, her sharp eyes blazing with fury.I took a slow breath, letting the weight of everything fall into silence. This wasn’t about the pack anymore. This wasn’t about the betrayal, the politics, or even Andy. This was personal. She smirked. “So you finally crawled out of the dirt.”I didn’t blink. “I didn’t crawl. I rose.”Ash laughed. “Still so dramatic. You think this is a fairytale? That you’ll somehow beat me in the end and everything will make sense?”“No,” I said simply. “I don’t need it to make sense. I just need you to bleed and maybe die.”Her face darkened at sound of my words. We circled each other, the sounds of battle far off in the distance. Our wolves clashed elsewhere—but here, it was just us. Luna to Rogue. Woman to woman. Past to
Lucy – POVThe Hollow breathed with quiet purpose. Every torch that burned along the rocky paths felt like a pulse—a heartbeat of something that was no longer just an idea, but a living, growing resistance. But I knew it was only a matter of time before the fire we’d built attracted attention.I stood at the center of the training grounds, watching two wolves spar beneath the morning sun. Rhea barked commands from the side, pacing like a lioness sizing up her prey.“Too slow, Alaric!” she shouted. “If Lucy were your target, you’d be dead already.”“Let him catch his breath,” I said lightly, though my tone was steel under silk.Rhea glanced at me and smirked. “War doesn’t care about breath.”“No,” I replied. “But wolves do.”I turned to leave, my cloak trailing behind me as I moved toward the command tent. Daniel was already inside, bent over a rough map of Ash’s compound.“She’s sending scouts,” he said as I entered. “Two were spotted just beyond our southern perimeter. One escaped.”
Lucy – POVThe night after confronting Ash, I didn't sleep. I couldn't just put things together.I sat by the open window of the little room, watching the moon cut across the sky, silver and distant. My hand rested gently on my stomach, the hope of fulfilling those words I told Andy, playing in my head. This child—my child—wasn't just a hope but my life. It would be a new beginning for me.And beginnings demanded bold steps.Which was why, just before dawn, I sent for Daniel. He arrived without a word, his expression unreadable as always. He stood in the doorway, arms crossed, dark eyes watching me closely."You're up early," he said quietly.I didn’t waste time. “I want to build my own faction. My own force. I’m not asking for your blessing or your go ahead. I’m asking if you're with me.”He blinked, then laughed once—dry, surprised. “That’s not what I was expecting though.”“Good,” I said, standing tall and firm. “I’m done being predictable.”He studied me for a long moment. “You’re
Lucy’s POVThe silence in the room was suffocating and intimidating. Ivy, Ethan, Daniel and I sat around the table, each of us lost in different thought. The weight of our discovery felt like a storm brewing, threatening to destroy everything we already knew.Ethan broke the silence. “Ash is workin
Lucy POV“Ethan, I need you to help gather all the useful information you can get,” I said, leaning closer to him. My voice trembled slightly with worry, and my facial expression filled with concern.Ethan’s gaze softened, but his words were sharp. “Lucy, they’re already closer than you even know.”
Lucy POV“ You should atleast take a while and think about all of this that have been happening!” Ivy voice was already getting on the high side, as she paced the room back and forth.I looked at her as she paced the room, while my heart racing with multiple thoughts already.Ivy words were making
Lucy POVI stormed into the living room, my hands clenched into fists. Daniel was leaning against the window, staring out into the large city like he had all the answers in the world. His calmness only fueled my own anger.“Why do you always think you know better?” I blurted out, my voice echoing t
