I slowly rose to my feet, my eyes fixed on the tree line. Those glowing eyes hadn’t moved neither had we.

The fire crackled quietly between us. Its warm light barely reached beyond the clearing, leaving the wolves hidden beneath the cover of darkness.

Beside me, Caelum rested one hand on the hilt of his sword.

Aria had already nocked an arrow onto her bow.

The wolves growled again and then they stepped into the firelight.
