LOGINKaren POV
When Zaiden finally tore his mouth from mine, I was shaking half from breathlessness, half from the storm inside me. His thumb lingered at my jaw, his gaze heavy, unreadable.
I pushed weakly at his chest, whispering, âI⌠I canât do this.â
His eyes narrowed, but instead of arguing, he stepped back, his grip loosening only enough to guide me toward his room. âThen donât fight,â he said simply. âRest.â
I blinked at him, stunned, as he opened the heavy wooden door that led to his chambers. The scent of cedarwood and smoke wrapped around me too strong, too him. My pulse jumped when I saw the enormous bed dominating the space.
âIâm notâŚâ I started, panic clawing up my throat.
âYouâre not leaving.â His tone was final, like carved stone. âNot tonight.â
My wolf purred at the command, but my human side shrank, torn between fear and⌠safety. Moon goddess, I hated how safe his presence felt even as my body trembled.
âIâll take the couch,â I muttered, trying to sidestep.
A growl rumbled from his chest, quiet but dangerous. âNo couch.â His eyes pinned me in place. âYouâll sleep here. With me.â
Heat flared in my face. My mouth opened to argue, but exhaustion struck the weight of the day, the kiss, the bond clawing at my soul. My body betrayed me, sagging.
Zaiden caught the flicker of fear in my eyes. His expression softened, just barely. He brushed a strand of hair from my cheek and said, low, âSleep. I wonât touch you.â
I did believe him. Not entirely. But when he lay back on the bed and tugged me down beside him, his arm a heavy barrier keeping me there, something inside me unclenched.
I curled stiffly at the edge, heart racing. His warmth pressed against my back, steady and immovable. My wolf sighed, content. I closed my eyes, praying sleep would come praying my heart would stop betraying me every time he whispered through the bond.
And just before sleep dragged me under, I swore I heard him murmur, voice rough with a promise and a threat all at once
âYouâll run in your dreams, little Luna. But when you wake⌠youâll still be mine.â

The Next Morning
A heavy, solid weight wrapped around me, cocooning me in a way that made it impossible to move. For a blissful moment, I thought I was safe⌠until the deep rumble of breathing at my neck shattered the illusion.
My eyes flew open.
Zaidenâs arm was draped across my waist, his hand splayed possessively over my stomach, pulling me firmly against the hard wall of his chest. His legs tangled with mine, anchoring me in place. Even in sleep, he was claiming me.
My pulse hammered, every nerve alight where his skin brushed mine.
Carefully, I shifted, testing the iron grip around me. His hold tightened instantly. A low growl vibrated against my back.
âDonât,â he muttered, still half-asleep. His voice was gravelly, raw, and far too dangerous to my resolve.
âI⌠I wasnâtâŚ.â My whisper died when his nose brushed against my hair, inhaling deeply.
âYou smell like mine,â he murmured, and gods help me, my traitorous wolf purred at the sound.
Heat burned in my cheeks. My body screamed to melt into him, to let the bond take over, but my mind⌠my mind wanted to escape.
Summoning every ounce of courage, I pushed lightly at his arm. âZaiden⌠let me go.â
His eyes cracked open stormy, dark, piercing right through me. For a heartbeat, he only stared, lips brushing the curve of my neck. The bond surged instantly, sending a shiver racing down my spine. My breath hitched. Then he smirked, lazy and possessive.
âYou woke up in my arms,â he said, voice thick with satisfaction. âYouâll get used to it.â
My heart stuttered violently. âNever.â
He leaned closer, his lips grazing the shell of my ear as he whispered, âWeâll see.â

Zaidenâs POV
âAlpha,â Cole said, his tone clipped in the mindlink. âThereâs a problem.â
I glanced at Karen, who was still tangled in the sheets, eyes wide and wary.
âItâs urgent, Alpha,â Cole pressed.
âWhat is it?â I asked, my voice low.
Karenâs soft voice cut in, interrupting the mindlink. âWhoâs that?â
I climbed off the bed, dragging on a shirt. âHeâs my Beta.â
Her brows knitted, but I didnât give her a chance to question further. I leaned down, brushing a quick kiss against her
cheek. âStay here. Donât leave this room. The maids will bring your breakfast.â
Three Years Later Zaidenâs POV My birthday was at the corner, Tomorrow, Adrian had been pressuring me to make it a celebration which I didnât want a celebration. I hadnât wanted one for three years. Adrian stubborn as always, refused to listen. âYouâre still my Alpha,â he had said. âAnd if Karen was alive, she wouldâve wanted this for you. If you're worried about having to do everything your self, worry no more that's why we are here, everything will be covered by us. Invitation, food drinks, gifts everything you can think of.â He said explained. "Fine, I'll be there, can you let me be now?" I asked. "Of course Alpha." He said and laughed and went back to his office. *On that morning* They had prepared a surprise for me when I woke up which I was grateful for, the brought their gift and wishes which I appreciated. *At the party* People trying too hard to pretend joy didnât feel wrong around me, they tried to make the party interesting and it was. But I didn't tak
Zaiden's POV The next morning, I carried my daughter in my arms as I made my way toward Karen's room. This had become our routine. I would bring our little princess to her mother so they could spend time together. The baby was unusually fussy today. She kept whimpering softly against my chest. I kissed her forehead. "What's wrong, little one?" She only fussed harder. I frowned. That wasn't like her. As I approached the room, I noticed something strange. Too many frightened faces the healers where looking distressed. My footsteps slowed. Immediately, something felt wrong, terribly wrong. The closer I got, the heavier my chest became. Then suddenly a horrifying pain exploded through my entire body. I stopped walking. My breath caught. The baby immediately began crying. Something was wrong with the mate bond. My heart started racing. "No! No! No!" I kept repeating. A healer stepped forward. His face was pale. Terrified. "Alpha..." I looked at him. "What happene
Karen's POV Marciel, Zaden's mother came two days after the birth of my baby, I was so happy to see her because of course I haven't talked to her or even seen her since I got married to Zaiden. On the evening she came back, I had the maid come to take her things inside and I welcomed her into the house at first I thought it was me imagining it but she some how didn't really talk to me she just stared at me in disgust which I had absolutely no I deal why she had done that. I felt I had done something or was it because I couldn't get her what to eat? I asked myself. Then turning to her. "What would you like to have." I asked she looked at me in disappointment she shook her head and said to the maids. "Show me to my room." I was surprised because I don't recall doing anything to see her get angry at me, besides she just came. Maybe the journey was exhausting I thought trying to make excuses for her. Then it kept on happening and I kept assuring myself or was exhaustion from child
Four Months Later General POV "Push!" The midwife's voice rang through the room. Karen cried out in pain, her fingers clutching the sheets beneath her. Sweat covered her body and tears streamed down her face as another contraction tore through her. "You can do it, Luna! Just one more push!" Outside the room, Zaiden paced like a caged animal. His heart was pounding so hard he could hear it. Every scream that came from behind those doors felt like a blade slicing through his chest. Nothing had ever terrified him as much as hearing his mate in pain. Another scream echoed through the hallway. Zaiden stopped moving. His fists clenched. "Moon Goddess, please..." he whispered. Then suddenly, a baby's cry pierced through the air. The entire hallway fell silent. For a second, Zaiden couldn't breathe. The cry came again, his eyes widened. The baby was here. Without waiting for permission, he shoved the door open and rushed inside. His eyes immediately searched for only one p
Zaiden POV "Don't you ever talk about my mate that way." He sneered. "Karen is your weakness, Zaiden." The mention of Karen made my wolf stir violently. But I kept my face expressionless. "Say her name again." The threat in my voice was unmistakable. Cole smirked. He laughed. "Let's see what you've got," he said, laughing maniacally. A warrior burst into the clearing from the direction of the pack house. "Alpha!" The warrior stumbled to a stop. "Alpha..." His voice shook. "The restaurant was attacked." The entire world seemed to stop. Every muscle in my body locked. My blood ran cold. Karen. And with a deafening roar that echoed through the forest, I launched myself at Cole. Cole met me head-on. Our bodies collided with enough force to shake the ground beneath us. His jaws snapped toward my throat. I twisted away just in time and sank my teeth into his shoulder. Cole howled in pain and retaliated immediately, his claws raking across my side. A burning pain
Zaiden POV Few weeks later We where back together fully. Karen had resumed her work back at the restaurant and I was at the office, Alpha duties of course always keeping me busy. I was in my office attending to some documents when I heard a loud piercing scream outside. I hurriedly stood up and went by the window side to check. Just then, someone burst into the office. "Alpha! Alpha!" he called, panting heavily. "The Rogues have attacked us. Cole is their leader," he said. I turned to him, my eyes widened in shock. "What!!" "Get the warriors to strengthen their forces and the rest should protect women, children, and elderly. Take them to the safe house. We can't afford to loose them. Tell Charles to get to the restaurant immediately and protect my mate. If anything should happen to her, I'll have all of your heads rolling on the ground." "Yes, Alpha," he said and left. The doors shut behind him. I stood there for a few seconds longer, jaw tight, listening to the distant move
Zaidenâs POVThe council hall reeked of smoke and blood. My warriors stood tense in a circle, their eyes flicking between me, the bound rogue at the center, and my Beta Cole.I stalked closer to the prisoner. âWho sent you?âThe wolf spat blood onto the floor but his voice trembled. âI was only a m

Zaidenâs POVThe council hall still smelled of blood and smoke, but it wasnât the rogues that lingered in my mind. It was her words.âMaybe I was a mistake.âThey cut deeper than any blade. And when I reached for her, when I tried to hold her, she pulled away. Since then, sheâd avoided me at every
Karenâs POVAfter days of refusing their poisoned meals, the fire in my veins finally cooled. My wolf stirred again weak, but alive.
