LOGINLeo’s pov: I wasn’t particularly in a hurry to leave Yuri. Aurora could threaten to kill herself and the baby all she wanted, considering I had my doubts about its lineage, I didn’t feel concerned much… The issue was that the elders were a pain to deal with, and I had to pacify them. Upon reaching the building where she lived, I found her perched on the balcony’s edge, seemingly ready to throw herself off. Considering the height, and her wolf genes, not much damage was meant to happen anyways, so I wasn’t quite sure what the fire was about. Rodney, her Beta father, was desperate to get her to come to her senses, urging her to stay calm, time and time again. When he caught sight of me, his eyes brightened, “There, there, Aurora. Alpha Leo came. He came for you and the baby. I told you he wouldn’t abandon you.” “He doesn’t love me anymore,” she whined, sniffling like some wronged wife, “He rarely ever makes time for me anymore… Our engagement party was ruined. And our lives seeme
Leo’s pov: “Stop moving, or I’ll take you, right here, right now,” I let out in a husky voice, even as my arousal poked Yuri’s behind, and she stiffened for a moment because of the threat. The lust I could see in the depths of Jackson’s eyes each time they settled over Yuri, my own freaking mate, was beyond maddening, and it was taking every ounce of self control I possessed not to teach him a lesson to remember. Ergo, I opted for the very next best thing – making Yuri flustered. When I had asked her to join me on the sofa, and she had naturally refused, with quite some attitude too, I felt like that was the perfect occasion to make the clueless Jackson realize where he stood in the grand scheme of things. For a few seconds, Yuri barely struggled, even though she was on my lap. Then, her spirit won against her wolf, and she began to demand that I let her go. Jackson watched us with curious eyes, and I knew deep down that, although the method was questionable at best, he was fin
Yuri’s pov: I had to remind myself time and time again that Jackson was only following orders. Otherwise I would so be hitting the man. He drove me to a district I hadn’t even known it existed, so chic looking, I barely knew how to spell elite anymore. It screamed and smelled wealth in here, and I knew that whatever property Jackson was taking me to was bound to take my breath away. I wasn’t disappointed. The villa was stunning with very few servants, all busy tending to the already spotless space. Heavens, I wanted to disappear… preferably somewhere this nice, though not necessarily this big, with a man who could understand me, and also love me for me. I heaved a sigh of dismay as I realized that I would never have what most wolves had – an unbreakable bond and a love for life. “Don’t fret it,” Jackson was quick to try to ease my worries off. He was so off the mark, it was endearing. And he sounded so earnest, I didn’t have the heart to tell him I wasn’t worried about what Aur
Leo’s pov: I was thinking of ways to make Aurora give up on me and on the Luna title. I was trying to devise a plan that wouldn’t involve Yuri, who only seemed willing to misunderstand me at the first chance she had. There was so much to take into consideration – my relationship with the wretched Beta’s daughter and my standing within the pack, her father and everything he knew should things go sour… and they were actually meant to get ugly even. The elders would have a fit, especially since despite her wickedness, Aurora was rather easy to impress, and couldn’t hold a candle to them when it came to scheming. “Leo!” Her voice reached me, and I wondered for a brief moment if I was hearing things. Considering my age and my perfectly healthy ears, that was unlikely. I grunted in response, my brows knitting together in a frown of pure annoyance, even as she pushed the doors to my office open. James, whom I had sent to another department to handle a matter on my behalf, was nowhere to
Yuri’s pov: I didn’t know what prompted me to show Jackson the screenshot… I wasn’t even sure he’d believe me, not that he could do anything about the situation to begin with… But a part of me longed for a day that didn’t involve looking over my shoulder every now and then, because my fated mate had a deranged and obsessed lover. Jackson became pensive at once, and didn’t hesitate to snap a picture of the screenshot. “I’ll help you get to your lecture,” he declared in a tone of voice that allowed room for no arguments. “Stay with your friends, and keep your guard up, Yuri. Let’s not take the words of a deranged person lightly, eh?” I was shocked by his choice of words. Never would I have thought he’d believe me this easily, nor that he’d side with me. “Friends?” I echoed after him, my laughter somewhere between bleak and nervous. “I don’t have any. She made sure of that.” “You have me,” he patted my shoulder in a gesture meant to soothe me but which only made my wolf bristle. Sh
Yuri’s pov: Starting the day with threats was not my idea of a fun morning. I recalled the masked dance where Leo had decided to seek me out, and we had danced far too intimately for it to be casual… I remembered all too clearly how he had held me, led beautifully, and I had fallen into step with him, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. There was something quite divine about that evening… Despite my wolf’s insistent words, begging me and encouraging me to tear his mask off and kiss him – so as to make a statement and a claim at the same time, as per her words – and his disctracting sensual touch, I had managed to remain sane somehow. But yeah, Cinderella only ever went to the dance till midnight before running off on the prince. And Alpha dearest only ever stayed as long as the scent suppressants were effective. No matter what, I knew and was sure that Aurora had recognized him. If the unveiled threat was any indication, I’d dare say she wasn’t pleased too. Stay aw
Leo’s pov: I had just entered the pack house when Beta Rodney shot up to his feet. My guts told me he had been waiting for my return. I looked at him in mild puzzlement, right before I barked at an omega servant nearby, “Get going. Don't you have anything to do?” She didn’t give me a reply and d
Yuri’s pov: I didn’t know why I didn’t react in time, to push Leo away, but the feeling of his lips on mine was actually pleasurable, more than ever. Even when the kiss shifted from soft and tentative to passionate and all-consuming, I didn’t stop him. If anything, I got swept away in a whirlwind
Yuri’s pov: I didn’t know where Aurora was staying, but I knew she was used to the VIP ward. Ergo, I wasn’t bothered in the least going into the clinic. Everything felt new with heightened senses, and a wolf who often babbled on and on about one thing or the other. My feet led me to the therapist
Yuri’s pov: My smile didn’t last long… I bumped into a wall of muscles, and it was none other than Leo freaking Phillips! The tingles that erupted on my arm, as he steadied me, made me almost lose focus for a moment there. Admittedly, my wolf’s yapping wasn’t helping either.I stepped away from h
