Chapter 3

Author: Heisen Steele
They had been smugly waiting for me to surrender, but now they suddenly turned pale. All of them shouted in unison, "Don't hurt Xena!"

They panicked, but I, on the other hand, grew calm.

Since my father, brother, and fiancé loved Xena so much that they would rather see me dead, I would use their weakness to protect myself until I was completely safe.

I forced Xena to back away quickly with me. The others were terrified that I might harm their precious Xena. They did not dare approach, but they also did not want to let me escape, so they followed closely behind.

Soon, I reached the police station entrance.

Seeing the situation, the police immediately surrounded us.

I looked at the serious expressions on the officers' faces, and tears of relief streamed down my face as I tossed the knife aside and raised my hands.

"I want to turn myself in."

Not only did the officers look confused, but the group behind me was completely stunned.

Xena, now without my support, collapsed to the ground, screaming and crying, "Arrest her! She's mentally unstable! She tried to kill me!"

I glanced at my family members, whose faces were a mix of emotions, and walked toward the police with my hands still raised.

"Yes, I did threaten Xena, but I did it to protect myself. I had no other choice.

"I’m guilty. Please arrest me, but before you do, I need to call my mother."

My mother had been abroad for two years due to business, and I had no way of contacting her after the dean took my phone.

The police officer frowned but nodded in agreement. Orion immediately rushed forward.

"Officer, don’t listen to her. She’s mentally unstable, often violent toward her family, and extremely dangerous!

"For everyone’s safety, it’s best to send her directly to a psychiatric hospital!"

The police officer looked at me with confusion. "You say she’s mentally unstable. Do you have any evidence?"

Orion was left speechless, while Xena quickly shouted, "Officer, not only is she mentally unstable, but she’s also a depraved person with no morals, engaging in all sorts of indecent acts. You must—"

At that point, Xena herself was momentarily stunned. Must what? Was she suggesting I should be arrested?

But right now, I was the one who had called the police, reporting myself!

I looked at the scheming faces around me and felt a cold sneer inside. They had wanted to take advantage of the situation to send me to a psychiatric hospital and discreetly get rid of me. But now, what power did they have to snatch me away in front of the police?

With the help of the officers, I finally contacted my mother overseas. Hearing her familiar voice through the phone, I broke down in tears.

My mother was terrified and promised to return as soon as possible. After hanging up, I remembered the island Xena had sold and turned to the officers with a serious expression.

"I need to file another report. The girl I threatened, Xena, a scholarship student my family sponsors, secretly sold the island my mother gave me. It’s worth two billion dollars."

Hearing this, my fiancé, Scott, immediately shouted, "Officer, we told you she’s delusional! Look at her! Does she seem like someone who owns an island?

"Just let her come with us. The mental health specialists are still waiting outside!"

With that, Orion and Scott each grabbed one of my arms, trying to drag me away.

I looked at the officer pleadingly. "What I’m saying is true. I have proof!"

The officer, noticing my serious expression, was about to intervene when Xena suddenly appeared with the doctors.

The lead doctor handed a stack of papers to the officer with great respect. "Sir, please take a look. These are Miss Luna's medical records. She does indeed have some mental issues.

"With symptoms like hers, she often experiences delusions of persecution and acts out violently, endangering public safety. In cases like this, she must be hospitalized."

The officer took the medical report. After seeing the diagnosis of schizophrenia, he stepped aside, allowing the door to open.

"In that case, she should be taken to the hospital."

As soon as he finished speaking, several strong men jumped out of the ambulance. They pinned me down despite my struggles, and tried to shove me into the vehicle.

I was utterly helpless. Just as despair set in, a loud voice suddenly echoed from nearby.

"Get your filthy hands off her! Let’s see who dares touch my Luna!"

Listening to my mother’s words, I could not hold back the tears streaming down my face. No one knew that I had already died once because of their conspiracy. Even after being reborn, I barely escaped the traps they had set. Every move they made was ruthless, all aimed at taking my life!I sniffled, looking at the few people still struggling desperately. "I have one last question, Xena. What’s your relationship with the dean?"As soon as I asked, a commotion broke out in the corner. Soon, the bodyguards pinned a woman to the ground. I recognized her immediately. It was the dean who had helped Xena fabricate evidence against me in front of the entire school, accusing me of misconduct and seizing the opportunity to take my phone.Seeing her, Xena, who had been silent until now, suddenly panicked. "Let go of my mom! Dad, say something! Tell them to release my mom!"David, looking defeated, replied, "Fool, everything is already exposed. Did you think your mother could escape this?

Amid the murmurs of the crowd, someone had already set up a laptop. The butler played the content from the hard drive without hesitation. The video showed inside my family’s villa. David was lounging with his legs crossed, with Orion and Xena seated on either side of him.David spoke first, raising his chin to signal Orion to hand over the items to Xena. "The girl’s documents are all here. Go make the deal, and the sooner, the better."Xena glanced through them and said with a cheerful smile, "Dad, I’ll help you cover up this mess, but what if Luna finds out?"David’s expression was indifferent. "That girl only knows how to bury herself in books. She’s clueless about the world. If she finds out, just publicly accuse her."She has never experienced something like this before, so she’ll definitely be provoked. After that, let Orion handle it."Orion smirked. "Don’t worry. That old woman is abroad and can’t manage things here. I've already arranged everything with the hospital. If a

"You’re talking nonsense. I’m not crazy!"Luna is the one who's crazy. Go arrest her!"I watched as Xena was pinned to the ground, and I could not help but chuckle. Grandma squeezed my hand and whispered in my ear, "This is called using someone’s own tactics against them."Seeing their beloved Xena restrained, Orion and Scott were frantic. "Let her go! Xena isn’t crazy. Stop making baseless accusations!"The lead doctor cleared his throat and calmly pulled out a medical record. "Xena, having come from a poor background, went mad with jealousy after being sponsored by Miss Luna. This had led to a series of mental health issues."We're taking her back now. Everyone else, please disperse."As he spoke, several people began lifting Xena. Xena, who had tried to use the same tactics against me, was now visibly panicking."I'm not crazy! This is all Luna’s plot!"She forged the medical records to trap me in the hospital and secretly harm me!"Don’t touch me with your dirty hands. W

Seeing me curled up in a ball, my grandmother's eyes turned red. She quickly arranged for the butler to investigate. As the butler left with his team, loud noises erupted outside the front door.I took a deep breath, wiped my tears, and looked out the window. I saw Xena and her group arguing loudly with the security guard at the door. Scott saw me peeking out and immediately shouted. "That's her! This woman has a mental illness. She just escaped from the hospital, and she has severe violent tendencies that could greatly affect public safety!"I'm here with doctors from the psychiatric hospital. Everyone, join me and help catch this patient and take her back to the hospital!"With his words, the crowd of onlookers behind Xena became stirred up and started shouting as well."It’s terrifying that rich people hide such filth.""How can they even hide a mental patient? What won’t these rich people do?""Could they be doing this intentionally? I often see dramas about wealthy familie

Looking at the person who arrived, tears streamed down my face."Jane, are you here to save me?"Jane was my mother’s best friend in the country and had watched me grow up. Seeing my pitiful state, she rushed over and grabbed my hand with concern."My poor Luna, if it weren’t for your mother calling me, I wouldn’t have known you’ve been suffering so much!"After saying that, Jane gave my father, who was standing behind the others, a cold glance."David, when Linda married you, it was to ensure you treated Luna well, especially after all the financial support she had provided."I never expected you, ungrateful as you are, to dare to take advantage of Linda’s absence and harm her daughter!"Hearing Jane’s words, I was stunned. It turned out the father I had called mine for eighteen years was not my biological father! No wonder he did not come looking for me when my brother forcibly sent me away in my past life.
