Evie.

“Tommy is missing.”

My heart stopped when I heard the words. For a second, I thought I heard Damien wrong.

“What?”

Damien stood at the doorway with a grim expression. “We can’t find him.”

I went and shook his shoulders. “What do you mean we can’t find him? Where is my baby? You were with him? How could he get lost?”

My mind was all over the place. How could Tommy go missing around the pack house with 24/7 security?

I pushed past Damien but he grabbed my wrist.

“Where was he?”

Evie.“Tommy is missing.”My heart stopped when I heard the words. For a second, I thought I heard Damien wrong.“What?”Damien stood at the doorway with a grim expression. “We can’t find him.”I went and shook his shoulders. “What do you mean we can’t find him? Where is my baby? You were with him? How could he get lost?” My mind was all over the place. How could Tommy go missing around the pack house with 24/7 security?I pushed past Damien but he grabbed my wrist.“Where was he?”“At the training grounds. I had to leave for a few minutes and he was gone. We’re searching.”When he refused to let go of my arm, I let out flames, forcing him to drop my hand like it was made of lava. The pack house has turned into a hub of activity; people running in different directions, shouting and giving out orders. I ignored all of them, only asking for Rodney’s whereabouts. I found him in the main hall, ice freezing his boots. Everyone near him was trembling from extreme cold.“Evie.”“Do you have

  • The Cursed Alpha's Regret    An evil plan

Lyra. How dare they laugh at me!Ever since that damned Evie returned, everything had changed. It was like Rodney even forgotten I existed. After five years of me being there for him, he dumped me as soon as his beloved Evie showed up.My hands gripped the metal railings as I stood at the landing overlooking the dining hall. Servants carrying trays and wine bottles and other serving equipment moved around without noticing me.Good for them because if even one had dared to look me in the eye in that moment, I might have ripped their throat open.“…the Alpha is better now.” one of them said, relief noticeable in their voice.“It’s because Luna Evie returned.” another said with a smile. “He really loved her. I can’t wait for them to fully get back together.”My teeth clenched. Luna Evie?Back then they all mocked the half-blood luna that Rodney refused to mark. Now they all respected and admired her because she was the Fireheart who could save the Alpha. Hearing them speak, you would thi

  • The Cursed Alpha's Regret    A guilty woman

Evie.Jade had proven to be trustworthy so I left Tommy with her while I went to fulfill the so called treatment plan. The healers had given me so many instructions.Keep him warm, wake him immediately if frost appears again, and avoid emotional stress blah blah blah...That last one was the most ridiculous. Avoid emotional stress?I was going to share a bedroom with the man who broke my heart and ruined my life. Emotional stress was unavoidable. Being in the same room with him was enough to trigger emotional distress in me.Rodney joined me to wish Tommy a good night before we left. Entering the familiar bedroom made my heart ache because it brought back all the memories from before. There were so many good and bad memories.Fire burned inside the fireplace, making the room pretty warm. I glanced at Rodney. The fire didn’t seem to have any effect on him.I walked in and stopped near the door, giving Rodney space to enter. He closed the door behind us gently. For a few seconds we were

Evie. The entire room was covered by ice. Even the medical equipment and curtains were frozen under thick layers of frost.Cold air entered my lungs the moment I stepped inside. Rodney stood at the center of the room wearing only a thin black shirt soaked in melted ice. His breathing was labored. As soon as our eyes met, the frost stopped spreading. Rodney looked at me like a drowning man spotting land. He looked so desperate and lost which was very strange to take in. he had always been confident and in control of every situation.“Evie.” his voice was low, laced with desperation. He suddenly went on one knee, one hand bracing against the floor while frost crawled beneath his fingers. His skin looked frighteningly pale and almost blue over the ice spreading through his veins. One healer moved toward me.“His body temperature keeps dropping,” the older woman said. “We can’t control it.”“What do I do?” I asked.“Touch him.” she said without hesitation.Ambling towards Rodney, I stood

Evie. The next day I avoided Rodney like he was the plague. I kept replaying the healer’s explanations and they made me feel manipulated. He said I should sleep beside him, touch him, stay emotionally connected and work on strengthening the mate bond. That was everything I didn’t want to do with Rodney because I knew where it would lead to.Rodney was way too pleased with every single part of the so called treatment plan. The man was dying but somehow made everything seem weird. If I weren’t for tommy, I’d have left him to his fate.I sat near the large windows inside the private lounge watching Tommy build a train station with a set Rodney bought for him. Ever since he received the gift, he had not stopped playing with it.Suddenly, the lounge door opened a maid hurried inside looking pale.“Luna Evie—”“What happened?” I asked, noting her panicked expression. I hoped this had nothing to do with Rodney because I was not ready to face him.“There was another freezing episode. The alp

  • The Cursed Alpha's Regret    The treatment plan

Rodney. The old man standing near the fireplace looked worried when he saw the frost slowly spreading under my chair. But I couldn’t stop it. The curse worsened whenever I got irritated. The cause of my irritation was Evie refusing to sit beside me. She stood near the window with her arms crossed over her chest. The healer cleared his throat. “As I was saying, Alpha. The Frostbane Curse has progressed faster than expected.”Ice spread along the armrest where I’d placed my arm. The old man saw it and shook his head. Evie glanced at me briefly before looking away again. The healer opened an ancient leather book on the table. Strange symbols covered the pages alongside drawings of wolves surrounded by fire.“The curse is ancient,” he explained. “Created originally by Fireheart witches centuries ago.”My brows rose. I still wanted to kill the rest of that coven for what they did to me.“The Frostbane Curse activates when balance between mates is broken,” the man continued. I looked at Ev
