“What, how can you say such father you didn't even ask for my consent?” Azzura the only child of Mr. Tommaso and Mrs Gaia of the Sil clan, a small and almost seen to be weak clan screamed out at her father after hearing the news of her already planned marriage with her betrothed Francisco of the Ndranghetas Mafia Family.

A very dangerous Mafia family ruled by the mighty strength of Don Giovanni a very ruggedly voracious man who believes in killing or be killed and the father to Francesco the betrothed to Azzura.

“I don't like him father and I will never get married to such ugly human, never” Azzura barked at her father who sat comfortably with her mother by his side.

The tension in the room thickened immediately as mother vs parent clash in a strong staring contest to see who has the most opinion stated down on a slate.

The office of the Sil mansion was large and luxurious, built with dark mahogany walls and expensive Italian designs that screamed wealth and power.

A giant chandelier hung from above casting golden lights across the polished floor while the faint smell of cigar smoke lingered heavily in the air.

Mr Tommaso remained seated on the long black leather chair like a king on his throne dangerously calm like a bright sky before the storm.

His sharp eyes remained fixed on his daughter as though studying every movement she made while his wife Mrs Gaia beside him looked far softer with concern hidden beneath her composed smile.

“Mother” Azzura called out as she shifted her gaze to her mother “why are you not saying anything against this evil idea, you want me to get married to that heartless idiot who raises his shoulders so high with annoying pride swelling all over his face?”

“I hate him so much I can tear out his eyes I swear I will, don't you guys get it?” Azzura screamed as she walked towards her mother who kept a smile on her face all through like she had seen such attitude countless times and what Azzura was displaying was nothing compared to what she herself had done or experienced in her lifetime.

Azzura's chest rose heavily with every breath as ager burned wildly inside her, thus was not just anger burning…no.

This was fear disguised as rage, fear that was not coming from her but rooted deeply in the name of the house she is getting married into..

The Casa Ndrangheta.

This wasn't any fear because everyone knew the Ndranghetas and without saying much the stories alone were enough to terrify entire cities even presidents of nations do not dare react when this clan speaks.

People disappeared overnight after crossing them and grown men with the bravest heart begged for mercy before getting bullets buried into their skulls.

Families vanished without traces and now she was expected to become one of them, one of the family of an extremely dangerous house…a haunted clan.

“Just thinking about all these makes me want to die right now, no I can't take it… I have to do something about this” Azzura said in her head as she shivered unconsciously at the deep fear she felt at the mention of the Casa Ndrangheta.

“Just say something mum at least that can stop dad from such useless decisions he is about to embark on…please mum” Azzura said once more as she almost went on her knees pleading that her mum at least reconsider.

“Darling, trust me when I tell that you don't have to be so stiff on this matter” Mrs Gaia said with a bright smile on her face.

“You see my love the wedding was not something we decided ourselves, it's the Ndrangheta family way of telling your father thank you for what he did for Mr Giovanni his friend some years back”

“So darling…. you see it is not like we forced you into it, no we didn't but we felt it would be a very good start for you” Mrs Gaia said, her voice remained soft and controlled unlike the storm brewing inside Azzura.

But Azzura was far beyond calming down as she began to feel like this was a lost war from the very start “I can't believe mum will be in support of this nonsense it's like this is just a waste of time from the very start…but still I need to fight it out, I must” Azzura said in her head as she looked at her parent.

“Bla bla bla mom I don't understand you at all, what is my business with the fact that father helped Mr Giovanni, how does that concern me in the first place please make it make sense to me..i need to understand” Azzura said.

“if like you said father helped the Ndrangheta family good and fine, but why then is it a marriage to their most proud boring son that I am getting married to is that nothing sounding very weird to you two?” Azzura said out loud.

“I need control of my life” Azzura said once more “for crying out loud this is my life and I can decide what I want for myself and by myself… for christ sake I want to get married to a simple man one I love and cherish not some planned marriage proud guy from a disgusting family of killers and destroyers mother”

Mr Tommaso’s fingers tightened a little bit around the wine glass in his hand and with a little more pressure there was an assurance that the glass would surely break, but he remained silent a clear show that he was trying his possible best to hold himself from reacting.

Azzura however was too blinded by emotions to notice the dangerous patience building inside him.l as images of Francesco crossed her mind unwillingly.

“That useless cold expression that is permanently resting on his face like he doesn't have an iota of emotions in him” Azzura thought in her head as flashes of Francesco kept playing in her head.

Even though his knees felt weak and his palms were sweating profusely but he forced himself to remain composed, and after all the panic would only make things worse.“Sir are you okay?” Diego finally asked after a while in silence as he fixed his gaze on Francesco who clearly was not in his right frame of mind.On the side Francesco remained quiet as the dream replayed itself again. The figure. The voice. The words. Karma. The strange certainty in the creature's eyes.“This is the second time I am having a nightmare about this strange figure with my face, what's going on?” Francesco asked himself in his head as he remembered the dream he had some minutes again and without even realizing himself he jerked unconsciously.A chill travelled down his spine “something about the dream feels different” Francesco said to himself “this time it did not feel like imagination, no it felt real, far too real like it was happening right now”As Francesco thought about it, he felt a slight pain pass t

“You are weak…you are nothing, you will cry at the loss of those you believe are with you” a very dark smoky shadow figure of Francesco said as it fixed it's gaze on Francesco who stood still bare chested. The surroundings were different now as the air itself felt distorted, Francesco looked around, nothing made sense as darkness stretched endlessly in every direction. There were no walls, no doors, no ceiling but only shadows and directly before him stood the figure, a reflection, a version of himself and yet not himself. Its eyes seemed darker, it's smile colder and it's presence more sinister.“You believe you are the best, but no your heart will burn out…and I will swallow you whole” the figure said as the voice echoed unnaturally as if coming from everywhere at once.“I will swallow you whole and make you useless and you will kneel as everything you worked so hard for comes down crumbling in your very eyes” the voice said again.Every word felt heavier than the last that the dar

“Ohh apologies sir for not informing you earlier.” Diego said apologetically “I had done as you commanded sir, and have so far I have compiled so much out for your consumption and here it is sir.” As Diego spoke, he turned toward his side. There, resting beside his chair stood a large black suitcase.Diego reached down, gripped the handle and carefully lifted it. The metal clasps clicked softly as he placed the case on the table, the sound immediately drew everyone's attention that even Mufasa seemed to glance toward it briefly.“This took nearly five days of nonstop investigation to come up with this detailed intel sir” Diego said.“The men worked through multiple networks, contacts, old archives, criminal databases, military records and underground sources to compile everything.”Francesco's interest visibly increased, that alone told him there might be something valuable inside, picking it up and placing on the taking, with one smooth click Diego opened the cuit case.Immediately r

“So sir,” Diego spoke for the first time in the meeting, breaking the silence that had settled heavily over the underground conference room, “so you mean to say sir that the Bratva family knows what they are doing?”The question lingered in the air and for several seconds no one spoke. The underground bunker remained unusually quiet as the soft hum of electrical equipment echoed faintly through the room.Francesco leaned back slightly in his chair as his fingers tapped slowly against the armrest as he stared at Diego while the expression on his face remained calm.“Ohh come on Diego of course they do,” Francesco replied, this time his voice carried absolute certainty “for a family that has been for years do you expect them to be emotional in their actions. Especially when it involves the number one family in the whole world?”The question struck Diego immediately as his expression showed his understanding while Francesco's cold and calculating gaze remained fixed on him.“Ohh come on

Francesco paused briefly as his gaze moved across the underground conference room, the room itself was silent as the only sounds that could be heard were the faint hum of the ventilation system above them and the occasional rustling of papers spread across the large table.“What about the casino sir…we have had a larger increase compared to before, even though that large input seems suspicious,” Dmitry said as he stroked his beard. His brows furrowed as he spoke, because the increase in customers should have been a good thing, well yes under normal circumstances it would have been celebrated but then nothing about their current situation was normal. The sudden flood of customers arriving after the casino incident bothered him because it felt too convenient almost as if someone wanted them distracted or slightly comfortable and Dmitry had survived too long in the underworld to trust comfort.“Yes I noticed also,” Francesco replied, his voice remained calm because he had noticed it almo

Yes, the Bratva family was not some ordinary organization, they are powerful, influential and feared and yet Francesco spoke of bringing them down as though he were discussing tomorrow's weather.“I promise I will bring them all down” Francesco's final words carried absolute certainty, this was not a wish neither is it dream but instead it sounded like a decision already made.Every man in the room listened to him attentively, not one of them dared to overreact or do something stupid, like they were afraid that the devil would finish them off for any mistakes made.“Get this place settled, we don't want our clients loosing trust in us or our services because we can't handle some small fries” Francesco said after a while with a weird smile on his face.Business always came first and that fact surprised several people that after everything that had happened, Francesco's focus returned immediately to maintaining operations. The casino was important, true and Its reputation was important
