The days before the world changed.

I had to go get supplies from the main pack compound. We had a massive hotel sized pack house in the centre of our pack lands. Surrounding that was the wolves separate homes the higher up the pack the bigger and closer the home. The beta houses of second and third were first and it flowed out around them. Going into delta homes then the omega ones. Then right by the woods you had me, I carefully walked round the omegas and into the deltas. Not many were home, thankfully there must be some kind of visit from another pack. There was excitement in the air like electric. I could feel the bonds of the wolves even without mine yet, the bonds flowed from me like tiny silver string an unbreakable force no matter how small is appeared. Once my wolf comes then I’ll be able to see them properly, that’s what the books I had read said. That some are able to see the bonds before they change, but its a faint image of what the bonds truly look like. The books didn’t really give me much more info on what the difference between them was though.

I’d made it to the store rooms, all the houses had modern amenities now. Mine was still a wood fire and an overhanging pot to cook on. A witch would be more at home in my shack. Can’t really call it a house. I climbed the steps and opened the door and headed straight to the tinned food. Grabbing soups, stews and beans. I then tied two big bags if wood together and clipped them to my back pack that I had filled with cans. I saw some bread and grabbed that to, there wasn’t usually something that perishable in here and it would make a nice change than just plain soup. I slung my pack over my shoulder and spun to head out. I nearly jumped out of my skin and I screamed so loud it would have woken the dead.

Sat no more than 5 inches away from me was a massive wolf. Bright golden eyes looked at me but not with anger and that look sent me to my knees in front of him. Yep definitely male, absolutely huge. Must be a high up wolf, definitely a visitor. Not scented him before.

High ranking male from North pack. It was but a whisper in my mind, a faint caress of sound from deep within. It made me shiver violently thought and the male immediately stood. Ears back, teeth bared, but not towards me. No it was the men who were running towards us.

“So so sorry, just kick her out Warren she won’t bother you. Naomi is trash.” I locked eyes with Karen and I felt a shift a tiny flicker of hope that sparked inside me. I had five days till I was eighteen, if I didn’t get my wolf before then I dreaded what was to become of me. Maybe they would kick me out? Would that even be so bad though? But that tiny flicker and the tiny whisper gave me pure joy and hope. Suddenly I felt like I had awakened from a long sleep. I felt my eyes flicker and they grew warm. But at soon as it started it was crushed like candle wick being put out.

My scent changed for a second and the wolf standing between me and my abusers turned inhaling. He was quick, his wet nose was between my neck and shoulder in an instant.

“Ahhhh stop that your nose is cold!” I tried to pull his nose out of my neck, he moved when Karen cleared her throat though. He span and expanded into three times his size as he took menacing steps toward the wolves who had gathered around.

“whoa whoa! Sorry karl I meant no harm!” Karen said backtracking. He seemed to take pause and then he turned to the right and started to run. I withdrew into the shadows of the cabin hoping Karen would forget about me as they started to run after the massive wolf that was Warren. What an odd encounter, I kept low and ran for my hovel in the woods. That’s more than enough pack encounters for me for a good month maybe even a year if I can make these soups last.

Wishful thinking.

Karl

I ran towards my rooms in the pack house. I couldn’t believe it. The second I caught her scent on the wind my wolf came alert and pumped me full of adrenaline. Pushing us forward to the scent that had awoken him. His whole focus had been the scent of this female wolf. He was salivating with the need to get to her and by any means necessary.

When we found her he was calm. Like a missing puzzle piece from our soul was finally found. Instant ice over the red hot need that was just a second ago pumping through our veins. We’ve never experienced anything like this. It was primal, I was terrified for a split second that it was our mate. But the thought had left my mind quicker than it had come. This female needed our protection, we were protect her at all costs. My wolf knew he would die for this female, it was in the very fibre of his being. This was our female, but not our mate female. Then who could she be?

I jumped through our window and changed mid leap. Grabbing my phone of the counter next to the bed I dialled one on speed dial. There was one person I had to call, he would know what to do. My alpha Alec, we were now the largest of the four packs that solidified after the war. We used to be more free but after the alphas kings death we stayed in our four territories, only leaving for mating reasons and that was a very diplomatic journey now. We were no longer free to move and follow the moon mothers call of our mates. Now we had a treaty and laws to follow, though the alphas of this West pack changed it on the fly to whatever suited them best.

Our Alpha answered his voice gravely with sleep.

“Alec, you need to wake up. Somethings going on and I need you.” I could feel my alphas instant awareness as he pulled on our pack lines checking all was ok. The draw made my wolf uneasy as he wanted all power to remain. We felt the Alphas release and our power flow back easy my wolf.

“Sorry what happened?” Alec asked his voice sharp and gravely.

“I don’t know but someone is coming home with me and its not my mate.” I stuttered.

I ran through everything that had happened in break neck speed. The need to protect her, the way I had felt at peace the moment my eyes found her. It wasn’t a mate thing. Definitely wasn’t a mate thing, I don’t like girls that way.

“I’ve never heard of anything like that, I’ll consult the elders and ring u ASAP. Do you think we’ll be able to bring her here without a fuss from the West pack?” I scoffed.

“They’re clearly beating her, I think starving her although she isn’t a skinny girl. But they’ve changed their own laws on the fly here after two of ours found their mates. They want a down payment for the shewolves or they want supplies.” Alec’s sharp intake of breath at my description gave me pause. I heard him up and walking a second later. I waited patiently as I heard the big doors of the library being thrown open.

“So they’re selling their she wolves now?” he growled low and menacing. I could here the echo of his growl bounce around the vast library, I could smell the books from here. We held the largest collection of pre war literature and our library was preserved like you walked back in time. I missed home then, I had never wanted to be Beta, second in command is a lot and I had wanted a quiet life. But the moon mother had other ideas for me.

“Tom!” Alec shouted. I could hear a faint reply and Alec was moving a ladder inside the library.

“Why would a werewolf become fat?” Alec was asking Tom, one of our elders that we had managed to save when the Alpha king declared war.

“Not a wolf, yet. Definitely a wolf but not had her first change yet.” I told Alec.

“I can smell the wolf in her, it’s odd and I had to get to her. My wolf will not allow me to return without her.”

Tom seemed to have found what he was looking for as he started to mutter as he flipped pages of a book.

“Here!.....” there was a long pause as Alec read and Tom was next to him by the sounds of breathing.

“Yes, its not natural. Its usually foul play. But from your reaction to her, maybe just maybe its not. You have to protect her you say? What is her physical condition?” Tom asked me.

“They’ve done unspeakable things to her, I can smell the scent of males and my wolf can feel the years of pain that lives in her. It over takes her natural scent.” I said and Alec growl was so menacing it made my knees feel weak. Its hard to not react when your alpha is angry, even when it’s not aimed at you.

Tom sighed.

“That poor girl. I will consult with the others and get back to you Alpha.” Tom said and left, his footsteps echoing.

“Ok Karl, go find her and bring her here without delay. If they’re abusing her then they may not let her go without a fight.” He was pacing now.

“Do you think she may be what we’ve been looking for all these years? The reaction you had isn’t normal, could the moon mother just want to save her from this fate? And she is nothing more than a omega so abused that the wolf cannot emerge? Best not give the elders to much hope that she could possibly be of the Alphas king blood line. If I come to you it will be a diplomatic nightmare. Can you remove her without me there?”

“Yes Alpha.”

Karl I saw what Luke the beta from Naomi’s pack did. I understood that look he gave my Alpha to. I bumped shoulders with Alec we locked eyes and we both understood that this would not be easy. I’d have to find Becca quickly and divulge the information even quicker to get near Alec to be any sort of help. If he went to kill the beta of another pack without being able to communicate there was a bloody good reason for it, then the betas pack would likely defend their wolf. Luke was clever keeping out of sight until now, and waiting till all the packs were in wolf form so they couldn’t communicate. I had to find Becca and quickly. I prayed to the goddess as I ran after Becca’s scent booking speeds I’d never be able to accomplish on a normal day again. Praying Becca sensed my distress and came out of hiding. We had a civil war to stop and all because a girl that had never met a boy wasn’t in love with him back. Becca’s scent finally got stronger and I started to circle and quietly

  • The Lost Alphas Daughter    Hunting the Luna

Naomi I was with the not its as we lined up to get ready to run, the excitement in the air was invigorating. We felt alive in my body, we became one then in that moment. It was no longer my wolf and I. There was us as a whole. Sometimes this merging of the two souls inside a werewolves body can take years. Sometimes it never happens. Alec was at one with his but he still states his wolf. We were the ying and yang symbol in our body now and it felt so good to not be pulling and pushing control of the body around. We just were the same thoughts the same brain. I took a deep breath steadied my nerves cause goddess knows I’m absolutely shitting it. What if I’m awful and I get caught by Alec in seconds? Do I cause my pack shame? What if I’m not caught quick enough and I cause Alec shame? Goddess this is alot for one I’m just a girl to handle. Ok mission is to get caught at a reasonable time and with a reasonable fight? Oh hell no to all of that. We’re going for gold the politics can

Alec We we’re pacing next to our mate as she completed her first change. I don’t think I’ve ever been this nervous. Hence the pacing, I wasn’t a pacing kind of guy. I felt it myself when her legs and knees broke to reshape. I wanted to howl to the moon for her pain but I kept my animal instincts inside for the time being. A small cry escaped her lips and I nearly cried. Even in this unnatural half and half form she was still beautiful to me. When the fur started I knew she wouldn’t be long and the hardest middle part was done. She still had the very last bit of the change to do but that part although its way more painful than the middle, it doesn’t take that long and then your all done. In the middle organs be everywhere you can just stop and be like that for hours until the moon sets and u finally pass out. Then your change back happens when your asleep. Its the mind that hinders the change. You start to get in your head about it because it makes absolutely no sense at all how its

  • The Lost Alphas Daughter    First shift

Naomi Every wolf inside our compound was gathered at the very tip of Alec’s territory. Sprawled out before us was miles and miles of woodland, hills, waterfalls, rivers, streams and more woodland with open fields dotted in between. It was nature in its natural beauty. There was a slight fog moving down towards the woods from high up on the hills. We were at the highest point so we had a picturesque view of the mist flowing between the trees. It looked magical and maybe it was. I’ve never been on a run before, but I know there is pack magic and it can conceal us from humans. It works naturally when the pack hunts or if they are having to move through the public in wolf form. No one casts a spell it just happens. There was a slight chill on the air now, it made me shiver. Or it could just be nerves. When the last full moon had come I was still in a coma, when you shift for the first time you do it on a full moon. Less likely to get stuck and it last for hours. Apparently mine may be

  • The Lost Alphas Daughter    Bonded

Naomi I woke up the next morning, it was our mating ceremony today. The pack had ordered it seeing as I was already in the pack bonds and all the wolves who we would invite were here already. Becca had already laid out five dress options for me to wear. One was silky and floor length. One was shorted to the knee and Boho style. The next was all lace and full length, it looked the most like a standard wedding dress. Most she wolves went with a standard wedding dress, that just wasn’t me. The lace one was as close as I would get. The next once was a standard a line knee length stress with a square neck line and a ribbon to tie around the back. I didn’t like that much. And the last was a satin form hugging dress with lots of pleats going along it. It was very pretty and it was in a cream colour that looked beautiful and understated all at the same time. In the end I chose the lace one, I felt so sexy in the creamy white lace that flowed from my feet to my neck. Becca had done my hair

Naomi I awoke to the sun shinning through a crack in the window. Alec was gone but the shower was running. I was about to just get up and go see him then I hesitated for a second and let the self doubt breath in me. What if he doesn’t want me there? He may want some alone time? I felt a tug inside me it was our mated bond and Alec was tugging at me. It was a weird sensation but one I was actually enjoying. As I walked into the bathroom the steam escaped out the room and I couldn’t make out Alec right away. “Come here, don’t ever think I don’t want to see you.” He said and I let my eyes adjust to the steam until I could see him.“like it hot in there?” I asked as I got closer to him. “Warming it up for you. Come in and join me.” All my anxiety left instantly and I didn’t think again. I just did what I should have done in the first place. I striped of my shorts and pj top and got into immediately stretched out hands pulling me into the steamy jets. “Ouch!” I shouted looking ar
