LOGIN“Find me another shaman! A healer, a purifier! Anyone!” Logan screamed at the man who came to deliver the news that the Shaman wasn't available.
“Yes sir,” The messenger scurried away immediately, biting his upper lip nervously, as he wasn't sure if he could get another person.
After waiting for what seemed like an hour, Logan paced around the room restlessly, his chest rising and falling heavily. He was in grave discomfort. He couldn't hold on any longer and he barged out of his room.
Just then, he saw the messenger approaching the door with the shaman who he said wasn't available. The messenger had to return to plead with the shaman.
“Greetings, my alpha.” The bearded shaman greeted.
“Start work immediately.” Logan instructed, ignoring the man's greetings.
The shaman requested for the needed items. Purified water, candles, incense and a tray of assorted herbs.
He boiled the herbs and wrapped Logan in a cloak, allowing the steam from the herbs to sink into his body.
“But my Alpha,” the shaman stated. “I don't think a broken mate bond did any harm to you. There's literally nothing to cleanse.”
Logan raised his head and looked at the man with eyes that seemed like they could kill.
The healer swallowed hard. “I'm so sorry sir. I'd continue with my work.”
The rest of the purification continued in silence with only the rustling of the leaves the clanking of the bowls, and Logan's coughs due to the steam, being the only sound the filled the room.
When the shaman left, Logan still didn't take off the cloak. He inhaled deeply and wrapped it even tighter around his body.
He needed to get rid of whatever sorcery that the mate bond had done to him. When he found his mate, he expected his body to resist it being that it was a man. Instead, his body betrayed him by yearning for this man.
It was that feeling that caused Logan to set the man free. But after snapping back to his normal self, he couldn't allow the man to keep living, he had to end that strange feeling. And he had no regrets about it.

THE NEXT DAY
Logan had to prepare for his Alpha duties, which were a lot more this week that the last. The first thing on his mind was to supervise the construction project that extended from the new bridge to the road in the eastern district.
He sat alone in his quiet opulent dining room. The table stretched far. Trays of meals and fruits lined the table. He used to eat with his family, but not anymore.
He took a sip of the soup from the bowl and grimaced in utter disgust.
“What's this?” He thundered and the maid who was already trembling from setting his meals on the table shook even more.
“It is the soup prepared by the chef.” The maid managed to say.
The chef ran out from the kitchen upon hearing Logan shout her name.
“You put garlic in my food? How many times do I have to warn you?” Logan questioned and flung the hot bowl of soup at the chef.
The hot soup burned into her skin, causing her to wince in pain.
“I'm so sorry sir. I'd prepare another.” She picked the tumbled plate from the floor and rushed to the kitchen.
Just then, Caine walked inside.
“The car is ready, boss.”
Logan nodded his head and glanced at the kitchen. He grabbed an apple and followed Caine, leaving the rest of the food on the table.
He was sure of one thing. He would definitely punish the chef for causing him to miss his breakfast.
The driver hit the road with Caine sitting in the front passenger seat with the driver, while Logan relaxed at the back seat.
When they got to their destination, Caine and Logan alighted from the vehicle, while the driver remained inside.
Logan wore his sunglasses to shield his eyes from the brazen effect of the sun and walked towards the men who wore their construction apron and helments while working.
They greeted him, and he responded to their greetings with few words, while examining the work they had done so far.
He nodded his head to whatever seemed impressive, and corrected them in the aspects that they faltered.
“I think the men are good with their work. I would have let you supervise it alone.” Logan addressed his beta.
He walked towards the car, ready to leave to the next construction site. Caine joined him in the car. The second site wasn't yet developed. The workers on that site had taken a leave and were to resume the next month.
The site still had trees and deep ridges around it that the car couldn't drive further. Caine and Logan had to get down from the car to walk towards the site. Their boots kept dipping into the mud as they moved.
Logan looked around the work that the engineers had started. They had began leveling part of the ground.
He turned towards his side to address Caine, but he wasn't there.
“Caine?” He called out, wondering where his beta had gone to.
“I'm here, Sir.” Caine responded as he walked towards him.
Logan pointed at something that the engineers didn't do well to show Caine, when suddenly, a sharp pain tore into his neck.
He yelped and grabbed his neck with one hand. Someone moved swiftly in the trees and fired another bullet into his chest this time around. Luckily for him, it missed his heart, but it was enough to make him collapse.
As he fell to the ground, he called out to Caine. “Get help.”
Caine hesitated and looked around as if checking if anyone was looking at him. Then, the man who had shot Logan emerged from behind the trees, smiling broadly at Caine. It was Griffin, his lover.
Caine crouched to Logan's level on the floor and took out a knife from his pocket.
Logan widened his eyes in utmost shock and before he could say anything, Caine stabbed him in the chest.
Everything went black.
The next day, Logan woke up before Silas. He'd be lying if he said he had enough sleep during the night, because he didn't. He had woken a couple of times during the night, just waking up for no reason at all and staring at the ceiling hard enough. He kept thinking about the next day, if his sister will be found, if everything he wanted to do will actually be possible. He found himself being caught in the same cycle throughout the night—waking up, thinking and going back to sleep. When he woke up, he felt like he had been deprived of sleep. The type of deprivation that you didn't feel sleepy, but still felt sleep deprived. He turned and saw Silas sleeping by the side.Silas had his feet curled up slightly as he slept and Logan thought it was cute. The king was breathing slowly and still sleeping. Logan sat up slowly and gently, not wanting to wake Silas up.Over their time of spending nights together, Logan had come to discover that Silas was a light sleeper. Unlike Logan, Silas could
Logan was still smiling when Silas pulled him closer. The laughter between them had settled into something quieter and warmer and Silas was looking at him with that expression Logan had learned to read over many chapters of being in the same space as him. The one that said he was thinking about something and had already decided to act on it.Logan looked back at him. "What?""Nothing," Silas said. He reached out and pushed Logan's shirt off his shoulder slowly.Logan let him. Silas pushed it further and Logan shrugged it off completely and dropped it beside them. Silas looked at him in the dim light of the room and Logan looked back without covering himself or looking away. That part of him, the part that used to need to argue with every moment between them, was completely quiet now.Silas pulled him in and kissed him and Logan kissed back immediately and put his hands on Silas' chest and felt the warmth of his skin under his palms. Silas was still shirtless from before and Logan ran
LOGAN'S FLASHBACK That night, the family had their dinner. He ate with his father, mother and his twin sister, Elara. The father was saying something about the werewolf farmers who were complaining of their farm animals being killed by strange beasts. Some of the farmers said that the markings on their animals after being ripped apart looked like it was done with fangs. They suspected it was done by a creature and a vampire to be precise.Xavier, Logan's father and the current alpha of the pack didn't believe any of that. He didn't believe that vampires existed and he didn't even believe in the fallen lost city. He just felt like some wild beast had torn the farm animals apart. That was the discussion he had at the dining table with his wife. Logan and his sister were just ten years old then. They paid no attention to what their parents discussed and were more interested in their little sibling quarrel over dinner. They had been tucked into bed to sleep when the sound of gunshots wer
Logan answered his question by kissing Silas deeply. Then he whispered into Silas' ears. “I want to be the one on top this time.”Silas smiled and spread his arms open. “I'm all yours my vampire.”Logan began unbuttoning his shirt. He took off the shirt and then his pants followed suit. He was now naked.Silas looked at him with a smile. “Like I said, I'm all yours.”Silas didn't touch Logan. He allowed him to do his thing. Logan's hands moved and he undid the buttons of Silas' shirt. The shirt came off, then he moved to his pants and slowly took them off.Silas wasn't fully erect, he was still quite dangling. Logan got on his knees and took his partner's cock in his mouth. He sucked it and sucked hard on it and gave him a deep throat. Silas moaned and sank his fingers into Logan's hair.“Come one boy, you're hitting the right spot.” Silas mumbled.Logan took that as motivation. He licked around the pink tip of Silas' cock and licked the edges. When he was done, he got to his feet. Si
Meanwhile, Silas was at his library again. He was waiting with the two men from his council, Rashid and Leon. They had been there for almost an hour and the witch hadn't arrived yet.“Are you sure she said she will be here?” Silas asked as he was getting impatient.Leon nodded. “She told us to meet her at this time at this place. I have no idea why she is late.”Rashid chipped in. “What if she never knew how to fix the crystal ball and was just using us to get the gold and abscond after the payment.”Just when Silas was about to give a response, a knock sounded on the library door.“Come in,” Silas said. The doorknob twisted and the witch stood in front of them with a man by her side. The man was one of the Hericon palace guards. The witch held a basket with one hand. The contents of the basket was covered with a cloth and Silas suspected that it contained the crystal ball. The guard who escorted her bowed and left. The witch entered, closing the door behind her.“My king,” she said,
They finished their meal and Monty pulled Logan to the side, while Oscar left to attend to other issues. They eventually walked to the room—Logan’s room and were alone there.“You said you wanted to tell me something,” Logan said while sitting on the bed.Monty took a deep breath. “I need advice. It is about Theo, my former master. I don't know if he feels the same way for me. You know I said I planned to be a breeder but Theo hasn't said anything about me. It is almost like he has no plans for me. Should I just move on with my life and find something else doing for myself.”Logan inhaled deeply, while processing Monty's words with a lot of carefulness. This was the first time that someone was asking for advice from him. He wasn't an alpha this time giving out orders. Instead, he was meant to give out advice and for some reason, he felt tongue-tied.“Logan,” Monty called out. “Are you even listening to me?”“Yes, I am. I was just thinking of the best answer to give.”He kept quiet for
THE NEXT DAYSilas woke up earlier than usual. He had not slept particularly well and he was not sure why. He lay on his back for a moment looking at the ceiling and then he sat up and reached for the glass of water on the small table beside his bed. He drank some of it and set it back down.He got
He hit something with his right hand and stopped. He looked down. It was a piece of broken stone larger than the others. He tried to move it with one hand and could not. He tried with both hands and managed to shift it slightly but not enough to get past it. He looked at the space on either side of
The room was very quiet."For one thousand years we have been down here," Oscar continued. "No skylight. No connection to the world above. We survive but we do not live. We cannot leave because the portals are sealed and we do not have the power to unseal them from our side."Logan looked at him. "
Logan woke up to feeling himself lying in a wet area. He sat up immediately, his cloth still damp from where he sat. He rubbed his face. It looked like he was in a place he couldn't recognize. He noticed a white cat seated at the corner, peering intently into his face. It held his map in his mouth,
