LOGINDaciana's pov
I opened my mouth to speak, but no words left my lips. “I'll have to tell the Alpha!” Tyler turned but before he could move, I fell to my knees and held his legs to stop him. “Please…..” I swallowed. “Believe me, I didn't kill the child” “Please don't tell the alpha, I would never poison anyone” I cried with desperation. “Why should I believe you?” He turned back to look at me. “Everyone believed you killed him! Many other lives were also lost because of you!” “I'm also affected by this. Your pack killed my father!” I cried. “Stop being delusional” Tyler scoffed. “We didn't kill your father!” I blinked. Then who did? He yanked my hand away from him. “I'll be telling the Alpha about you” “Please give me some time! I'll find proof that I didn't do it!” I didn't know what I was thinking when I said that, but I knew I was going to do anything to stay here. He stared at me for a while before speaking. “A week. If you fail to find the proof, I'll tell the Alpha then” “Follow me” His voice called out. We walked together for a while before he stopped in front of a room. “This will be your room. Don't think I'm going easy on you, I'm just giving you a week to prove yourself” “Be at the restaurant for food at five,” he added, pushing me to the room and closing the door, walking away. I breathed out in relief. I took a look at myself in the mirror and could barely recognize myself, my hair had dirt caked in them and my face was a mess, with make-up caked at the corners of my eyes. Who would have thought that I would be in this position? The Crescent blood pack didn't kill Dad? Then what exactly happened?. My Dad was gone and I was stuck with just his memories. Every part of his perfect soul had left this earth and he would never ever come back. For the first time in days, I let out a horrible gut wrenching sob. My body shook with the pain of everything that had happened within the past few days. I sobbed for everything I loved that had been taken away from me. Taken, all because someone was desperately hungry for power. My tears dried up along with any sadness that lingered. The only thing I felt now was all consuming madness. It was so much easier to be angry than to drown in pain. I hurried to the bathroom, allowing the water drum on my skin. I didn't think anything could feel so good. I scrubbed all the filth away so hard that my skin was turning red. I managed to slip on one of the dresses that were in the wardrobe. Like Tyler had ordered, I stepped out at five, stepping into the hallway, closing the door behind me. “Heard a rogue was found and brought to the pack today” one of the Lycan's said. “Yeah, that's her” Another commented while keeping her face on me. We walked into a building that had “Meal Centre” written boldly on it. I expected it to be a tray system but it wasn't. Each stand had a different meal and we were encouraged to get a meal of our choice. I walked towards the scanty looking station, avoiding eye contact with the man in uniform. “First time here?” He asked. I nodded and he ladled food onto a wooden plate and handed it over. I wanted to ask how he knew but I didn't. I just collected my food and walked away, my head bowed. I could only stare at my food. Soon enough, a whistle was blown and we all discarded our plates and walked out. “Hey” a guy got in line with me, walking side to side. I bit my lower lip and walked, ignoring him. I wasn't interested in making friends. The last one didn't exactly end well. I don't think I can open my heart again to anyone. “You're a quiet one. I'm Ethan” I ignored him again. Getting the memo that I wasn't interested in small talks he shoved his hands in his pocket and walked away quietly. “Damn girl, couldn't even spare him a handshake?” I heard a female voice say in a giggle. As I headed outside, I allowed the fresh breeze to run through my hair. This wasn't my life yet, but I'm still at peace. If I'm able to prove I didn't kill that boy in a week, then I'll be fully accepted here. I did the one thing that I knew how to do best. Run. I took off running into the woods, feeling the air rip through me. I ran for hours before I came across a slope and I stopped seeing the red flag, this should be the stop. I turned and ran back pushing through even though my body cracked and all I wanted to do was to bed down in pain, I ignored my body and ran. Hunter would pay for his crimes, I refuse to call him an Alpha. He put that title to disgrace. But first, I should secure my place here. I bent down, holding on to my knees as I gasped for air. I went back to the cramped room, changing into another dress. Just as I was about to lie down, a guard walked into the room. “The Alpha calls for you,” he said, as I gave him a small nod. “I think it's about time that we welcome you to the pack. You know how you start, right?” Alpha Freki spoke out when he saw me. I nodded. It didn't matter that I was going to start all over as an omega. “I, Daciana Draven, formerly a wandering rogue, pledge my loyalty to the Crescent Moon pack and its Alpha, Alpha Freki” “You never had a pack?” He asked with a raised brow. Again, I lied. “Yes” If I'm able to clear the misunderstanding in a week, I'll come clean about everything. “Drink this” he handed me a cup and I drank it. I felt my knees buckle, but I managed to hold myself up, holding on to one of the chairs like my life depended on it. “Daciana Draven, you are now officially a member of the Crescent Moon pack” “You’re now one of us,” He said through the mind link, and I nodded. Tyler entered that moment and saw the cup in my hand. “You accepted her into the pack already?” He asked the alpha with a surprised look. “Why should I have it delayed?” The Alpha replied to him. Tyler turned to me and we both stared at each other with no words. He sighed and turned back, walking out the way he walked in. I noticed that Freki's eyes were fixed on Tyler's back, as he headed out of the office. Soon enough, Alpha Freki spoke. “He lost his wife in Shadow Fang pack that night. She was pregnant. He's not usually this cold to people who join our pack” he explained. I blinked. That was sad. He had every reason to hate me given that he knows that I'm from that pack that killed his wife. “You were just a wandering rogue. Why were you there that night?” I knew I would have to lie again but before I could speak, someone approached the room. Freki squinted his eyes and held my hand. He asked if I heard someone but my voice failed me. “We're not alone,” he whispered. “Alpha!” A little boy flung the door open, running into the room towards him. Freki’s voice went from being serious, to a wide smile. He let go of me and bent down to pick the little boy up. “Hey Jayden!” “Jayden!” A woman ran in after him, panting. “Oh! He wears me off” It was obvious she's his Mom. “I was much worse at his age,” Freki laughed as he threw him up making funny faces at him. I felt something tug at my chest as I watched him play with the boy, giving me an insight of another side of him. The woman finally noticed me and I bowed slightly in greetings. “Hi, you must be the rogue everyone won't stop talking about” she offered me a hand and I took it. I had barely spoken when she cut me off. “I better get back to the pack, I won't want my husband to worry” I watched as she ran after Jayden who took off the moment he was placed on the floor. “If that's all, I'll take my leave Alpha” I said and bowed slightly, walking out immediately to avoid answering his questions. He was only trying to help me, I didn’t want to keep lying to him. It was time to start plotting phase one. And that is to clear Tyler's doubt and prove my innocence regarding the little kid's death.Daciana's POV.The journey to the restroom was short, my heels clicking in a way that made no noise.Actually, I was trying to be careful because of myself. I couldn't guarantee the fact that I won't fall when using heels. There was never a mother to teach me how to, I didn't like using it at gatherings when I lived as a princess, my dad never complained, Wulf also never complained.Strangely, back then, I liked hearing Wulf's opinion on everything.I got into the hallway of the female restrooms, walking into the first one. I grabbed a handful of tissues, dabbing my dress with it when I heard a voice ring out from nowhere.I paused, hands frozen mid air. “Fuck” A feminine voice cursed. The voice was unmistakenly Wuana's.“I hate his guts!” She snapped. The sound of running water followed her words and it felt like she was forcefully washing her hands.“I should get rid of him along with that arrogant alpha!” Her voice went low. “Stupid friends!”My brows furrowed and I found it diffic
Daciana's POV.Wuana looked surprised, her lashes fluttering as she blinked.“Wait…… you?” She gasped, lips parted in shock. Her voice was loud enough for everyone to hear but at the moment I didn't care. This could make things worse for me. My name was only cleared in blood moon pack. The other Alphas might not believe me if by chance, Wuana stirs something up and I try to prove my innocence.“Weren't you banished from the pack?” Wuana's face twisted in disgust. “How dare you come back here?”I didn't say anything but my throat tightened. Faces turned to me, the Alphas and the ladies who had accompanied them, staring at me while the ones who loved gossip whispered among themselves. My face snapped to where I saw Wulf standing earlier. He was still there, standing with his arms crossed. He acted like he cared but just like the night I was getting banished from the pack, he didn't interfere.I laughed a hollow laugh to myself, asking in my mind; “What were you expecting?”I didn't thin
Daciana's POV.“I do” I snapped my face to Nathan. “I promised to pay you back then. Thinking of it now, I haven't”Nathan kept his face on the road as he responded.“It's never too late” he glanced at me. “You can buy me dinner later”“I don't earn,” I replied immediately. “Nor do I get any allowance”“I think you'll start earning now” Nathan said and my brows furrowed in confusion.“I heard your name got cleared. And I think I can see through Freki” Still confused. “He would want to keep you in his mansion, you are his mate afterall”I don't agree with Nathan.I believe I'll be told to return to the dorm since my punishment period is over.Nathan and I kept talking about petty stuff, and mostly about my life until we got to the gates of the Alpha's estate. My heart fluttered as I stared at the gates. This place….. it was where I was born and bred. But now, it belongs to someone else.A guard walked to Nathan who whined his glass down, handing an invitation over to the guard. The gua
Daciana's POV.I stood in front of the mirror, staring back at my reflection. My face looked totally different that I could barely recognize myself, my lips so glossy I almost felt like kissing them.Arianna was behind me, packing my hair into a bun as she smiled while looking at my reflection with me.“You look so beautiful, Daciana” she whispered into my ears and a smile formed on my lips.I watched silently as she finished up with my hair and checked my dress out again.“But wait…..” Arianna snapped. “What did the southern pack alpha want with you?”Again, I smiled and turned my face from the mirror to her.“I also don't know” I sighed. “I just have to go get this over with”It had been two days since my name was cleared. The D-day of the party Hunter was hosting.Freki and I haven't said anything in particular to each other since then, only greetings which he didn't even bother replying to.But yesterday, he delivered a dress to my room, telling me it was from Nathan. It was a whi
Daciana's POV.“Yes” Maera gave a response to Ethan but the way her voice went low, told me I was probably doomed. “I know”She sounded like she had nothing else to use to prove my innocence. I would appreciate her effort, as she was able to get this man to talk when I had approached him before and got nothing but my breath was beginning to double and I was getting scared. But Maera's next words make me blink as her voice rises back high, filled with confidence.“And that's why I've brought the mirror of truth” she moved back to where Freki was seated and beside him, picked a large mirror. My face turned to Freki whose face was also on me, expressionless. I averted my face quickly, knowing I was nervous under his gaze.Maera returned to my side and raised the mirror for everyone to see. “We all know what this is, don't we?”No one spoke but a few nodded and it looked like I was the only one who doesn't know what the mirror of truth is for.“The witches' only inheritance passed down by
Daciana's POV.Everyone paused the moment Maera stopped. They turned their faces to her, waiting for her to speak. She didn't appear like someone who had just come to watch us train, it was obvious that something was going to happen with her sudden presence.“Alpha” Maera called, ignoring the faces pinned on her.Freki raised a brow, standing with his back straightened and one of his hands going into his pocket.“There's something I'd like you to know” she said, then roamed her eyes around everyone. “You, including everyone here”Before Freki could respond, she added. “Please assemble everyone”She looked at Freki and he also did the same back to her. I could tell from the glances they exchanged that Freki had given his approval. Tyler stepped in, urging everyone to move to the front of the great hall. I hesitated, staying behind and watching as everyone headed to the hall.I followed. I got to the hall, watching as a lot of people assembled. My lips parted when I saw that it wasn't
Freki's POV.“Lock her up” I repeated and this time, no one stopped me.I watched as Daciana was dragged away and she didn't resist.I turned back towards the house, tired of all the whispers that were flying around but I had taken less than three steps when I heard a loud thud. That was enough for
Daciana's POV.I didn't know what I had done until I was sitting on the ground, exhausted. That was when it finally dawned on me that I was in trouble. A deep one.I stared across the room, looking at the mess I've made. The shelves were empty, looking clean. The vases and picture framed glasses we
Freki's POV.I hate her guts. I hate that she's always there whenever I'm having a breakdown while thinking about Elena.I didn't know why, but I got angry at her for no reason.I returned to my room and shut the door behind me, leaning on the wall and slamming my head into it with a groan.I staye
Daciana's POV.“I'm sorry. I'm really sorry, please forgive me” Freya said and for a split moment, she was able to fool me with that cracked voice, repenting pose and the single tear that fell off her eyes. But I didn't completely get fooled. I knew she wasn't feeling sorry for anything, however th
