Someone screamed. "Gina!"

My knees struck the cold stone floor first. The pain barely registered before darkness swept over my vision like black ink spilling across paper.

The last thing I heard before my consciousness disappeared was Bey's frightened whisper: "We're breaking..."

It was as though molten silver had replaced my blood. Something beneath my skin clawed desperately to get out.

Bey. "Enough!"

The growl didn't come from outside. It came from inside my own soul.

Someone screamed. "Gina!"My knees struck the cold stone floor first. The pain barely registered before darkness swept over my vision like black ink spilling across paper. The last thing I heard before my consciousness disappeared was Bey's frightened whisper: "We're breaking..."It was as though molten silver had replaced my blood. Something beneath my skin clawed desperately to get out.Bey. "Enough!"The growl didn't come from outside. It came from inside my own soul.I floated somewhere between dreams and reality. The familiar silver lake stretched endlessly before me, and moonlight danced across perfectly still water.Standing at the center was Bey. She no longer looked like a shadow. She looked...real.Tall. Beautiful. Wild. She was a wolf with pure silver fur and brilliant amber eyes, carrying an emotion that was dangerously close to affection. It was overwhelming."You keep fighting me," she said."I don't even understand you," I replied."You are trying to remain human.""I a

  • The Lycan Prince Maid   Chapter 79

POV: GinaI woke with Caleb's name trapped behind my teeth. My heart was racing so violently that it hurt.I stayed curled up under the blankets for a while, staring at the wooden ceiling and trying to convince myself it was just another dream. It wasn't just a dream. It had felt too real. His lips. His hands. The warmth of his forehead resting against mine. The roughness in his voice when he whispered my name. The way his wolf had roared inside him while Bey had answered with an aching cry that shook my entire soul.Even now, long after waking, my skin still tingled where he had touched me."No..."I buried my burning face inside my pillow. "This is getting ridiculous."Now I couldn't even sleep without dreaming about kissing and making love with him.Worse...The dreams were becoming more vivid every night; almost like memories instead of just wet dreams.Bey stirred lazily. "You want him.""I do not.""Liar.""I absolutely do not.""Your heartbeat says otherwise."I groaned. "I refu

  • The Lycan Prince Maid   Chapter 78

POV: CalebShe tasted like heaven and desperation, a cocktail of sweetness and raw, unadulterated need that threatened to strip me of every ounce of my sanity. In the hazy, golden light of this dream, Gina was no longer a forbidden fruit or a complication of palace politics. She was the only thing that existed. Every time I had closed my eyes in the waking world, I had seen her—the way her lips parted when she was nervous, the curve of neck and back in the silvery dress, the scent of her skin that lingered in my nostrils long after she left the room, the electric pull of the bond that screamed at me to make her mine. Now, there was nothing to hold me back; there was only the heat of her body and the way she looked at me like I was the only man in the universe. She was beneath me, her legs wrapped tightly around my waist, pulling me deep into her warmth. I broke the kiss for a heartbeat, gasping for air, my eyes scanning her flushed

I closed my eyes as his hand slid gently behind my neck and mine rested against his chest.I could feel his heartbeat; it was fast and wild. Heat flooded every nerve in my body. My lips parted instinctively. Caleb's gaze dropped to them; he leaned even closer, leaving only another inch. Then...he stopped. His entire body went rigid."No."The word sounded like it hurt. I opened my eyes. His jaw was clenched so tightly I thought his teeth might break."Caleb?"He stepped backward immediately, as if putting a distance between us physically would somehow stop whatever existed between us.His breathing remained ragged, but his silver eyes refused to meet mine."I cannot." He said instead. My heart sank. "...Cannot what?"He laughed bitterly. "My mother is right.""What?""I have responsibilities."His words landed like a slap to my cheeks as I felt a flush of embarrassment. He continued staring toward th

  • The Lycan Prince Maid   Chapter 76

The banquet finally ended; it felt like a victory because I had survived a battlefield wearing silk instead of armor. The music gradually faded behind us as nobles drifted into different wings of the palace, their conversations echoing. Still, everywhere I walked, I could feel eyes following me. Some of the nobles had made small talk with the prince while pointedly ignoring the girl standing too close to the future king.Their snobbery was obvious, but I didn’t care so much and occupied myself with the delicious pastries that were passed around. I even saw Mary and the rest from the kitchen working as servers.Who would have guessed? I was once in their position a little over a month ago, but now I am here as a side piece? I don’t feel special or honored.Mary had disappeared with the other maids while Lady Lila was busy directing the other servants cleaning the grand ballroom after the celebration. That left only one person beside me. Caleb. He hadn't spoken since the banquet ended.

Caleb entered from the side pavilion. He had only intended to greet the foreign delegates before returning to his chambers. His body still hadn’t fully recovered; every movement reminded him of the need to be anywhere but here. Yet responsibilities had made that impossible. He had to show up to prove that all was well; these nobles could smell weakness from a mile away. So, for the sake of the kingdom, he needed to act the part. While moving through the crowd, he felt the familiar sensation of warmth, a hint of an olive scent.

  • The Lycan Prince Maid   Chapter 26

POV: GinaLater at night, I couldn’t sleep. The palace was quiet as it usually was, but my senses felt too raw, still reeling from the chaos of the day. Every distant footstep, every breeze against the window, kept me on edge.Beneath it, I could sense a low hum inside me like something was vibrati

POV: CalebTrey had reacted before my brain did; I had simply forgotten where I was at the moment. Seeing her wrist in another male’s grip had gotten antsy and restless. I am still stunned by my action, though I do not regret it.The truth is, I had been aware of her presence the moment she stepped

His voice wasn’t loud, but the alpha command in his voice was absolute, brooking no antagonism or negotiation. The stinky noble obeyed instantly, so I stepped back, lowering my gaze.Control. Control yourself, Gina.Caleb’s attention shifted to the noble.“You were assigned observation duty,” he sa

  • The Lycan Prince Maid   Chapter 16

Gina POVMeeting the queen felt unreal. My mind spins, and I question whether I’m awake or dreaming. I keep wondering if I’m losing my grip on reality.Sometimes I’m scared of how quickly things shift, as if nothing is certain, not even my thoughts.I catch myself trembling, questioning if I’m at th
