LOGINA man dressed in a red suit was seen walking through a dark corridor. The only light was the one that was up ahead, but it only illuminated the corridor.
Aside from that, there was no light.
The man in the red suit majestically walked on. It was as if he knew where he was going. And not only that, but it seemed he knew the place like the back of his hand.
His dark hair was slicked to the side with an expensive gel. And the sweet scent of it was a sharp contrast to the stony man who applied it.
His face was pulled in a frown.
And he seemed pissed off for a certain reason. At the sight of the corridor ahead, he hastened his steps.
The door at the end of the corridor opened at the same time he made to touch the handle.
He stood back as the door was opened.
"You are here?" The man at the other end spoke up. It was as if he were on the verge of running away from there.
The fear in his eyes and the way he constantly glanced back alerted the man in the red suit.
"Is the boss in there?" he asked his subordinate, who bowed as he nodded to him.
"He's waiting for you," the man shivered.
"Has the problem been resolved?" the man in red inquired.
"I don't know about that, sir. It must be the reason the boss asked for you." The man who got out of the room bowed once more before he glanced into the room he was backing.
The sweat on his face couldn't be mistaken at all.
His fears were evident in his expressions and the way he was quivering. He was like a lamb that had a run-in with a lion and lived to tell the tale of it.
"You can leave."
"Sir?"
"I will take care of the boss."
"Thank you, sir!" Without waiting for his boss to say anything more, the man hastily left the room.
Scorpion took a deep, steady breath before he entered the room and gently closed the door behind him.
Just like the corridor he walked through, the room was shrouded in darkness, save for the red candles that cast glows around the room.
The only two windows in the room were locked.
Scorpion took more steps into the room as his eyes roamed around.
'‘The playroom.’
As it was tagged by the gang, it was a place where all the activities took place.
And by activities, it was another name for torture.
On the wall were stacks of torture tools, ranging from chains to whips. There was no type of torture device that you wouldn't see in the room.
On the right side of the room was the activity area. It was the place where the torture took place.
The paddles, the electric chair and the bed of torture. A bed that was draped in the colour of blood.
At the centre of the room, with his back to the door, stood the devil himself.
Dressed in an almost identical suit to that of the scorpion, the devil seemed like a person who was ready for a party.
But that thought would undoubtedly be thrown out of the window when the Devil's expression became illuminated.
The devil's green eyes were dark in anger, and he had his hands clenched into fists.
He was barely restraining himself from showing his anger.
"Sir, you called for me?"
The scorpion, as he was known, was a fearless man. However, he seemed as docile as a dove in the presence of the Devil.
The devil wasn't a person to be trifled with. He was exactly like the name he earned. He was the devil himself.
"Sir?" Scorpion called out when he got no reply from the devil.
"How's the situation?"
The Devil asked in a voice that was too calm, which caused the scorpion to shiver a bit.
"Things have abated a bit." Scorpion had to bite the inside of his mouth.
Nothing had abated at all. He was only trying to make sure he didn't stir the anger of the devil against him.
"Better." The devil finally turned to face his second in command. "What's this sound I'm hearing?"
"Which sound, My Lord?" The scorpion frowned a bit.
"The sound of protests!" He removed the gun from the waistband of his trousers and pointed it at the scorpion. "Do you think I'm a damn child?"
Scorpion fell to the floor in fear.
"I'm sorry, My Lord!" He closed his eyes as he pleaded for mercy from his deranged boss.
The devil smirked as he watched his second in command. He loved the scent of fear. It made him want to bask in it.
"You thought you could lie to me?" The Devil smirked. "You should have thought more about it before lying." The devil raised the gun.
And unexpectedly, he shot Scorpion in his right leg.
Scorpion tightly clenched his teeth as he tried not to show his pain.
"A simple task was given to you, Scorpion. But you couldn't do that?" The devil shot him in the same leg.
The scorpion grimaced, but he didn't make any sound. He only held his injured leg while he tried to kneel with the other one.
"I apologise for my misstep. I shouldn't have done that."
"Oh, you know that?" The devil scoffed.
"I'm sorry, My Lord." The scorpion bowed, despite his pain.
"You are sorry? Is that what you are going to fucking say all day long!?"
He shot the leg once more. And this time, it was on the same spot he shot the first one.
Scorpion pinched his leg as he tried to override the pain. He clenched his hands into fists. "I'm sorry, boss!”
"Get your bloody self out of here!" The Devil wanted to shoot him once more.
But luckily for Scorpion, there were only three bullets in the gun.
"We leave in three hours. Get your shit sorted out before then."
The Devil turned his back on Scorpion, obviously dismissing him.
"Thank you, My Lord." Scorpion slowly rose from the floor and bowed to the Devil before he leapt out of the room.
"Fuck," Lin glanced up to see more than five cars blocking them.Behind them were three cars. On one side was a residential building, and on the other side were three cars."What should I do, boss?" The driver asked in a neutral tone. He wasn't alarmed at all because this wasn't his first time being in a situation like this."Wait," Lin ordered. "Are you okay?" He turned to Kon with a concerned expression on his face.Kon nodded."Boss?""Wait!" Lin snapped at the driver. "I'm waiting for something."He said as he glanced at the car in the middle. It wasn't difficult to know that Osy was in that particular vehicle.A man dressed in black exited the vehicle and walked over to the back door. He bowed as he opened the door. And out stepped Osy."Osy?" Kon gasped.Images assaulted him at the sight of the same man his mind conjured not too long ago.He blinked.Lin frowned. "Wait for him to advance, knock into him, and take a right through the forest," he instructed his driver, then turned
"Quick, let's call your dad." Melina took out her phone to call Osy. However, before the phone could be answered, Kon and Lin were already out of the mall. They were halfway across the parking lot."What is it, Melina?" Osy snapped at his sister the moment he answered the phone. He was pissed off when he was disturbed while still seeking Lin's hideout."Your daughter saw your wife," Melina answered without beating about the bush. She knew it was urgent."What? Where was it? Is he there? How—""The mall. He was with his best friend. However, they are not here any more. They ran the moment Toto saw them," she explained as fast as she could."Shit!" Osy threw his phone to the wall. "Get the men ready. Call the office, and ask them to block all the ways in the city. Don't let the dark Lord slip from our grasp," he ordered Scorpion, who was beyond excited to leave Osy's presence. It was difficult enough kneeling in front of the devil all day."Yes, my Lord." He bowed to him before he rose
"Fuck!" Osy pushed the table down in anger. "How could you have let him leave alone!?" He growled at Scorpion."I'm sorry, master. I will take full responsibility for it." Scorpion bowed to him. "I will get him back," he said, tightly shutting his eyes and clenching his fists."It's too late." Osy showed him a message he got on his phone. "The Dark Lord is with him.""What?" Scorpion widened his eyes. "Why did the Dark Lord take him? You've not had a clash with him."It was a puzzle to Scorpion. The Dark Lord was one of the most feared mafia lords in the entire country. Though he doesn't frequently appear, his name instils fear in the lives of those who have been unfortunate to meet him.Although his fame wasn't like that of the devil, people feared him more than the other mafia lords."He's Kon's best friend," Osy gritted his teeth."Lin?" Shocked, Scorpion took a step back."Yes. He's the one with Kon," Osy said, walking to the window. "We have to find Kon. Take Toto back to my sist
"I'm sorry, Kon," Lin stepped closer to a struggling Kon. "Trust me, I never wanted to do this. But you left me with no choice.""Why are you doing this, Lin?" Kon furrowed his brows at him."Why am I doing all this?" Lin laughed. "Hasn't it always been obvious? I'm doing this because I love you, Kon." He touched Kon's cheeks. "I've always loved you. I can't think of a time when I never loved you.""No, that's not true," Kon shook his head. "You are my best friend, Lin.""But not to me," Lin sighed. "I only pretended to be your best friend so I could keep staying next to you."Kon huffed. "Okay, let's leave that out. How did you end up here? I thought we came to see your parents?" Kon tried to use that to check if Lin might let him go."Parents?" Lin scoffed. "I have no parents, Kon. The woman I lived with was the caregiver my uncle brought to look after me.""But…" Kon blinked. "You called her 'mother.'""Is there anything wrong with that?" Lin grinned. "I didn't see anything wrong w
Kon yawned. His head was pounding, and he was sweating. He blinked, looking around. He was in a strange room, with black pieces of furniture all around, but that wasn't his problem; it was the headache. He placed a hand on his head at the searing pain. It felt as if his head was about to split into two.Kon rose from the bed and slowly walked to the door. He tried the doorknob, and the door opened. With his hand clutched to his head, he walked out of the room and headed down the corridors. His mind was fuzzy. He didn't recall a thing. And when he tried to recollect, a searing pain through his head was all that greeted him as he staggered in the hall.He placed a hand on the wall to keep himself from falling."Kon?"An alarmed Lin rushed towards him, prompting him to stop.He squinted at the person in front of him as his mind tried to place the face. However, the scalding pain in his skull made him tightly shut his eyes. He grasped the nearest doorknob."What are you doing out here?" L
Scorpion looked reluctant."It's okay. You don't have to keep your face like that." Kon chuckled at the expression on his face. "You don't have to tell your boss anything. I will be back before you notice my absence.""And what of Toto? Do you think she will keep her mouth shut?" He furrowed his brows."Take her to get some ice cream. And should she ask of me, tell her I went to school to get a textbook I forgot." He pouted. "Please, Scorpion. Lin is my best friend; I need to help him.""Can't he go on his own? Doesn't he know you are dating my boss?" Scorpion folded his arms in displeasure. His words caused Kon to roll his eyes. "He's my best friend, Scorpion. You don't have to act as if I'm cheating on Osy behind his back. Besides, it's not as if I'm dating him.""Let him not hear those words from your mouth," Scorpion grumbled under his breath, looking a bit like a grumpy grandfather."So, am I free to go?" He blinked as cutely as he could. "Am I?" He pursed his lips. "Uncle Scorpi
