My breath came in quick gasps as I stumbled over the uneven ground. I could hear them, the three Alphas, fanned out around me. They were trying to herd me back toward town. If they wanted to catch me, there was little I could do. So, I guessed they were hoping they could make it easier on themselves and not have to carry me.
