Everything happened so quickly, like a scene in a movie. He didn’t see her, at least not immediately, since he was so engrossed in what Myra was saying, and, honestly, Isha would have preferred it that way. She dropped the drinks with shaky hands, her heart pounding, praying to get away from the table unnoticed when he said, 'Thank you.' He was still the sweet guy she remembered, and as he said that, he lifted his gaze to meet hers, and all hell let loose.

She saw his mouth hang; it was so obvious that everyone at the table stared at him, then at her. The bulletproof heart she thought she had grown all these years turned out as vulnerable as she had last remembered.

“Isha?” His voice was low and didn’t sound confident, almost as if he didn’t believe she was standing two feet away from him, across the table.

Forcing a smile, she swallowed, trying to keep herself from running into his hands, and replied in the same voice. “Zayn”

“You know each other?” Myra asked, her smile was still pasted on her face, and she looked the least bothered.

Zayn nodded and covered his mouth with his hand for a brief second before rising from his seat to meet her. Isha stood helplessly, clutching the empty tray, her eyes a bit moist, feeling a mixture of shock and longing. She couldn’t believe this was happening; she just wanted to pass out right there and then and forget the scene before her.

As he approached her, she noticed he was still stunned, his eyes fixed on her with a mixture of disbelief and recognition. Her heartbeat quickened, each step amplifying her longing, and she could still hear his voice, louder than her own, echoing the love that had never truly faded.

Zayn restricted the urge to pull her into his arms. He took her hand, closed his eyes for a brief second, and drew in a long breath. “Thank God you are alive, that’s the only thing that matters.” He quickly dropped her hands, conscious that all eyes on the table were on them and everyone was probably wondering what was going on. He turned to them. “Guys, meet Isha Raghav” They looked at her and gave little smiles and little waves. Zayn continued, “Isha, this is Krishna, Yash, Rahul, Kayla, Ryan, and Myra; my fiancé.”

She felt her heart fall into her stomach, but she managed to keep her cool. She noticed the attention from the other males and even the females at the table; it was as if they were noticing her beauty for the first time. She got that constantly; she was used to it.

“You’ve never told me about her,” Myra said, and she said it with a pure heart. Isha felt it. “How do you two know each other?”

For a moment, silence hung among them, but Isha was quick to reply. “We’re old friends, we lived in the same city.” She said and forced a smile. Then, turning to Zayn, she added. “It’s really good to see you, Zayn. I’m sorry, I have to leave; I have a lot of duties to attend to.”

He nodded, and she knew he saw the hurt in her despite her pretence. He always saw through her, deep into her soul; their connection was out of this world. “I’ll see you before the ceremony is over,” he said, and she gave him an assuring smile before leaving.

It was a forty-minute battle with her tear gland before she let it triumph over her; she felt miserable and thankful at the same time. Thankful that the love of her life was hale and hearty, even though she always knew he was still alive. Seeing him in person after all these years stirred a complex swirl of hope and despair, making her feel invisible to him, as if she never existed, as if she were not worth his recognition.

Suddenly, the room seemed to turn upside down, the music grew a little louder, and she could smell the food right up her nostrils. Whenever she acted up, she felt such feelings and knew she needed to be away from people; however, she could not.

Clinging to her talisman, she struggled to maintain composure till she was out of the main hall and staggered the rest of her way to the bathroom, where she slumped as she got in. She secured the door lock and felt nausea overcome her as she threw up all over the toilet seat, holding onto it for support. She tried to keep her mind clear, but it was too late; she had held it in for too long, trying to deal with the fact that she couldn’t have the life she had always dreamed of, all because of a gift she had never asked for. It was stupid, just plain stupid.

“Ah shit”, she muttered as she saw her vision become blurred and felt him fill her mind, and she didn’t fight him; she let him in. He was there with her upstairs, that was his territory, and she would do anything to keep him there for life. Then the worst part came, the part when she felt out of breath. She knew she needed help, but she didn’t try to scream; no one would hear her, as her voice wouldn’t make it out of her mouth, so she just lay calm and prayed for everything and nothing at all.

The old lake house sat on stilts above the black water, its wooden beams groaning under the weight of years and secrets. Mist curled off the lake like breath from something alive, and the air inside smelled of damp cedar, old incense, and the faint metallic tang that always seemed to follow the crown’s shadow. Zayn and Isha arrived first. The moment the door clicked shut behind them, the tension that had simmered since Myra’s call snapped into something electric.Isha pressed Zayn against the wall before he could speak. Her hands fisted his shirt as she kissed him hard, desperate, her full breasts crushing against his chest. “She’s coming,” she whispered against his mouth. “And I don’t want to face her without feeling you first.”Zayn groaned, hands sliding under her thin top to cup the heavy, soft weight of her breasts. He squeezed, thumbs brushing the stiff nipples. “These tits… still so fucking perfect even when everything’s falling apart.” He yanked the top up, bar

The lake at night looked exactly like Isha’s nightmare.Vivi stood on the muddy bank where the stakeout had happened, the same stretch of black water that had swallowed a man and his blood. The air was thick, humid, and alive with the low croak of frogs and the distant hum of Delhi traffic. A thin mist rose off the surface, glowing silver under the half-moon. The water smelled of wet earth, rotting reeds, and something metallic that made the back of her throat tighten. She had arrived forty minutes early. Her black tank top clung to her skin, already damp with nervous sweat. The thin cotton did nothing to hide the hard points of her nipples or the way her smaller, firmer breasts rose and fell with every shallow breath. Her shorts were loose, but the crotch was already soaked — not from the mist, but from the slow, restless heat that had been building since she sent that encrypted message.“I have proof. Meet me at the lake tomorrow night. Bring

Morning light filtered softly and golden through the rain-streaked windows of the safe-house bedroom, painting Isha’s naked skin in warm honey tones. The air was thick with the scent of last night’s sex — salty sweat, her sweet arousal, and the faint sandalwood lingering on their bodies. Isha stirred first, her full, heavy breasts pressed warmly against Zayn’s chest, dark nipples still faintly swollen and sensitive from the hours he had spent worshipping them. She felt the steady thump of his heartbeat and smiled, nuzzling closer so the soft weight of her tits dragged deliberately across his skin.Zayn’s arm tightened around her waist. “Don’t move,” he murmured, voice gravel-rough with sleep and fresh hunger. “Not yet.”She didn’t. Instead, she arched her back, offering her breasts to him like a gift. Zayn groaned low, one hand sliding up to cup the heavy, perfect globe of her left breast. His thumb brus

Maybe the storm was a blessing in disguise — a fierce, roaring sign from the universe that they were finally allowed to choose each other again. The rain hammered the windows like a thousand heartbeats, thunder rolling across the sky as if the heavens themselves were cheering them on. They had talked for hours, laying bare every fear, every wound, every beautiful possibility. They had weighed the pain, the secrets, the woman waiting back home — and still they chose this. They chose forever.Isha had never seen her own future so clearly. When she closed her eyes and reached for visions, Zayn’s face was always there — steady, loving, hers. The darkness that sometimes blurred the edges felt distant now, unimportant. She had communed with the goddess earlier, heart open, and made her vow: if this love cost her everything, she would follow him even into the afterlife. For once, her soul felt at rest. She wanted nothing more than to be held by him, filled by him, to carry his child and buil

A Journey of Connection. Everyone in town was shopping for the next three days and rushing home to avoid getting caught up in the storm predicted by the weather forecasters. It was expected to hit in four hours and last for three days. It was a big-time rush, but Zayn wasn't a part of it. He needed to get things cleared up with Isha. Myra was gone, and that was a good thing. He just needed to see her, and despite the advice from his closest friends, he couldn't wait for the storm to pass without her. He wasn't sure he would make it without her.He was informed that she was out when he got to the Yadav household. It was her day off, and she had gone out, as usual. Only some people knew where. He called her several times, and she didn't pick up. They caught her at her most vulnerable, overwhelmed by Zayn's issues. When she realised she had been set up, she gave up, feeling defeated. There was no fight; she knew it was either the 78-carat crown or her life, and for such a huge amount, her attackers wouldn’t need a conference to decide to kill her. She let them take everything that had meant the world to her, sinking into despair. The memory stayed with her, vivid as if it were happening now. She and her crew had been heading to the Triumph Hall on East Lane for the Oscars. When asked to bring her crown, she knew it was a bad idea. She understood that all eyes would be on her at such a huge event. If it were in India, it would be a shame not to witness it. Showing up without her crown would be a disrespect to her country and her identity, making the crown more than just jewellery-it was her symbol. Near home, she and Vivi sat behind the car seat and talked about the event's outcome, laughing and sharing memories. She had plann
