The monitor's beeping told her where she was, but she didn’t move, didn’t open her eyes. She knew she had been out for a while, but wasn’t sure exactly how long, and she didn’t care; she loved the calm. She was aware she wasn’t alone, but she didn’t need any sympathy; she just wanted to rest.

Loud footsteps dragged into the room, and she felt someone hover above her, checking for a pulse.

“She’s alright.” She heard the Doctor tell her companion in the room. “There’s nothing serious; she is just stressed and needs to rest. Please give her some space; the nurses will check on her frequently.”

“Thank you, I’ll be in the hallway. Please let me know if she needs anything.” That voice….. That wasn’t Zayn, but it sounded so familiar. It was deep and a little too loud, one of the Yadav brothers?

Nodding, the Doctor replied, “Will do.”

Everywhere returned to normal, and Isha wasted another ten minutes before opening her eyes. A drip line was connected to her veins, and a tube was inserted into her nose to aid her breathing. The room was spacious and had a lot of greenery. By her bed, a bouquet of red roses lay on the cupboard; they were fresh and smelled like healthy earth.

Her mind went to the happening before she passed out, and she sighed in tiredness and embarrassment. This wasn’t how the evening was supposed to go. It had been so long since she had ever got to the edge; this was the first time in two years. The effect Zayn had on her was one she never understood, but it was what it was.

She grabbed her talisman with her free hand and smiled as she felt its charm seep through every cell in her system. Its healing power was amazing, and she knew she wouldn’t have survived this long without it. She rubbed it gently and closed her eyes, listening to the creaking fan as it made a three-hundred-and-sixty-degree journey over and over again.

Aarav Yadav was beyond worried. He knew something was wrong with Isha, but he didn’t know what. Most times he caught her in pain, she would give a flimsy excuse like a headache or menstrual pain. It was so frequent, and he was beginning to wonder if his teacher was right when she taught him that a woman sees her period only once a month.

Yes, she was a servant, and his family’s belief in love was about amassing wealth and connections through marriage, but he couldn’t get his eyes off her. It was beyond her beauty; she was the sweetest girl he had ever known, always caring, always loving. Her smile could brighten up a room, but whenever he got close, she brought out a different side of herself, rude and stiff, but he knew a fake when he saw one; she was clearly forcing herself to be this way; it was like she was running away from something. He saw through her like a ghost, and the events of tonight only made everything clearer.

His eyes were on her during the event, as she swung her hips in between tables, doing her duty. He saw lots of eyes following her every move, and he couldn’t fault them; she was beautiful, and the letters of the alphabet are not enough to describe her. Big brown eyes, oblong face and lips that looked so soft, one could spend hours imagining what they taste like.

For a moment, his attention had been drawn to something else, and the next second, he saw his mum looking panicked and calling one of the bouncers who was hired for the event. They left together for the inner room, and he followed, curious about what the fuss was about. And when he saw her lying helplessly on the floor with a bleeding nose, he felt as though his heart had been split in two. He was scared and swung into action immediately. They called an ambulance, but he had no time for that; he picked her up in his arms and drove her to the nearest hospital as fast as he could.

At their arrival, she looked so pale, and the doctors panicked, asking all sorts of questions to which she had no reply. She was too quiet about her past and personal life, so he had no medical history for her. They gave her treatment and conducted tests, the results indicated there was no abnormality in her, and Aarav thought this was a little strange. Right now, he only needed her to wake up and be fine. He had been so frightened when he saw her; she looked like she had no life in her. There was definitely more to this girl, and he wished he could help her, wished she would let him.

  • Unravelling The Eve Within   Chapter 23 The Observing Guardian

The old lake house sat on stilts above the black water, its wooden beams groaning under the weight of years and secrets. Mist curled off the lake like breath from something alive, and the air inside smelled of damp cedar, old incense, and the faint metallic tang that always seemed to follow the crown’s shadow. Zayn and Isha arrived first. The moment the door clicked shut behind them, the tension that had simmered since Myra’s call snapped into something electric.Isha pressed Zayn against the wall before he could speak. Her hands fisted his shirt as she kissed him hard, desperate, her full breasts crushing against his chest. “She’s coming,” she whispered against his mouth. “And I don’t want to face her without feeling you first.”Zayn groaned, hands sliding under her thin top to cup the heavy, soft weight of her breasts. He squeezed, thumbs brushing the stiff nipples. “These tits… still so fucking perfect even when everything’s falling apart.” He yanked the top up, bar

The lake at night looked exactly like Isha’s nightmare.Vivi stood on the muddy bank where the stakeout had happened, the same stretch of black water that had swallowed a man and his blood. The air was thick, humid, and alive with the low croak of frogs and the distant hum of Delhi traffic. A thin mist rose off the surface, glowing silver under the half-moon. The water smelled of wet earth, rotting reeds, and something metallic that made the back of her throat tighten. She had arrived forty minutes early. Her black tank top clung to her skin, already damp with nervous sweat. The thin cotton did nothing to hide the hard points of her nipples or the way her smaller, firmer breasts rose and fell with every shallow breath. Her shorts were loose, but the crotch was already soaked — not from the mist, but from the slow, restless heat that had been building since she sent that encrypted message.“I have proof. Meet me at the lake tomorrow night. Bring

  • Unravelling The Eve Within   Chapter 21 The Storm Within

Morning light filtered softly and golden through the rain-streaked windows of the safe-house bedroom, painting Isha’s naked skin in warm honey tones. The air was thick with the scent of last night’s sex — salty sweat, her sweet arousal, and the faint sandalwood lingering on their bodies. Isha stirred first, her full, heavy breasts pressed warmly against Zayn’s chest, dark nipples still faintly swollen and sensitive from the hours he had spent worshipping them. She felt the steady thump of his heartbeat and smiled, nuzzling closer so the soft weight of her tits dragged deliberately across his skin.Zayn’s arm tightened around her waist. “Don’t move,” he murmured, voice gravel-rough with sleep and fresh hunger. “Not yet.”She didn’t. Instead, she arched her back, offering her breasts to him like a gift. Zayn groaned low, one hand sliding up to cup the heavy, perfect globe of her left breast. His thumb brus

  • Unravelling The Eve Within   Chapter 20 A Storm of Choices

Maybe the storm was a blessing in disguise — a fierce, roaring sign from the universe that they were finally allowed to choose each other again. The rain hammered the windows like a thousand heartbeats, thunder rolling across the sky as if the heavens themselves were cheering them on. They had talked for hours, laying bare every fear, every wound, every beautiful possibility. They had weighed the pain, the secrets, the woman waiting back home — and still they chose this. They chose forever.Isha had never seen her own future so clearly. When she closed her eyes and reached for visions, Zayn’s face was always there — steady, loving, hers. The darkness that sometimes blurred the edges felt distant now, unimportant. She had communed with the goddess earlier, heart open, and made her vow: if this love cost her everything, she would follow him even into the afterlife. For once, her soul felt at rest. She wanted nothing more than to be held by him, filled by him, to carry his child and buil

A Journey of Connection. Everyone in town was shopping for the next three days and rushing home to avoid getting caught up in the storm predicted by the weather forecasters. It was expected to hit in four hours and last for three days. It was a big-time rush, but Zayn wasn't a part of it. He needed to get things cleared up with Isha. Myra was gone, and that was a good thing. He just needed to see her, and despite the advice from his closest friends, he couldn't wait for the storm to pass without her. He wasn't sure he would make it without her.He was informed that she was out when he got to the Yadav household. It was her day off, and she had gone out, as usual. Only some people knew where. He called her several times, and she didn't pick up. He was a confused man in Delhi. He drove back to the Yadav household and met with one of the helpers."You should go home; this storm will be here anytime." She said, picking different saree colours from the clothes line where they had been lef

They caught her at her most vulnerable, overwhelmed by Zayn's issues. When she realised she had been set up, she gave up, feeling defeated. There was no fight; she knew it was either the 78-carat crown or her life, and for such a huge amount, her attackers wouldn’t need a conference to decide to kill her. She let them take everything that had meant the world to her, sinking into despair. The memory stayed with her, vivid as if it were happening now. She and her crew had been heading to the Triumph Hall on East Lane for the Oscars. When asked to bring her crown, she knew it was a bad idea. She understood that all eyes would be on her at such a huge event. If it were in India, it would be a shame not to witness it. Showing up without her crown would be a disrespect to her country and her identity, making the crown more than just jewellery-it was her symbol. Near home, she and Vivi sat behind the car seat and talked about the event's outcome, laughing and sharing memories. She had plann

It had been four days since her encounter with Myra, and Isha couldn't deny that she felt like the most stupid person on the planet. The plan was to go unnoticed and so she did just that. Myra was in joggers and a sports bra, with dark glasses to hide her identity. Her hair was tied in a small ponytail that bounced as she walked into the gym. She glanced around for a while and then saw Isha at the corner working the treadmill. Sh
