Dawn spent the following day on the porch, trying to process the previous night's events. Malachi confessed his love to her, she did not see that coming but did not know how to feel about it. Chapter 22Dawn awoke to sunlight in her room the following day. She sat up, stretched, and upon glancing at her nightstand, spotted the bottle. Recalling something, she jumped up, got dressed, and tucked the bottle into the back pocket of her blue jeans. She donned a red t-shirt, black hoodie, and black shoes before departing the room and descending the stairs. Upon reaching the downstairs area, she headed towards the front and found her mother reading a book in the living room. “Hey mom, is dad around?” Dawn asked.Looking up from her book, she sees Dawn and says, "No, dear, Beta Mitchell and he went to attend to pack business. In the kitchen, Logan takes out ground beef, onions, and green peppers from the refrigerator. And on the counter, there was a brown bag that contained potatoes, before he could put them out, Dawn grabs his hand. "I'd like to assist; allow me to peel those," Dawn offered, holding the bag. Logan nodded and went to the kitchen drawer and grab the potato pillar and the knife, he handed the potato pillar to Dawn, which Dawn grabbed and went over to the table with a bag and the potatoes and started peeling the skin off. Logan cut up the onions, and bell peppers and mixed them up into the ground beef. Finally, the food that they made was meatloaf and mashed potatoes with green beans. The worst part of it all is that she have to deal with her father's betrayal, how he became the mastermind by putting all this together with no shame. Upon reaching the first floor, Dawn detected the aroma of bacon wafting from the kitchen. She followed the scent into the kitchen, where she found Logan cooking at the stove. He spun around and saw Dawn.
