Prologue

Third person’s point of view “You know the drill, Sariel, you have to fvcking get in Maddox’s company and mess everything up,” Sariel’s uncle Finn barks at her. Sariel was just nodding in response to his uncle's directions. She heaved a deep, long sigh. Maddox is Ventura’s eldest son and currently serves as the CEO of Ventura’s company. Finn is unaware that Sariel and Maddox are already in romantic affection. He was so preoccupied that he didn't realize how often the two see each other. Finn is enraged with Maddox because Maddox set him up by mixing Finn's products with fake stuff, causing Finn's client to cancel a huge deal in the past. Finn was almost bankrupt because news of him selling fake products reached other clients. Luckily, he was able to salvage his reputation, but he wasted a lot of money as a result. As a form of revenge, Finn decided to steal the confidential data of Maddox's company, which he plans to have Sariel carry out. He is willing to risk his niece's life

Ch. 1: Hospital

Third person’s point of view When Maddox arrived at the hospital, he ran straight to his parents, who were in the operating room. Maddox and Lowe were merely waiting outside at the OR, praying that their parents will be saved from the on-going operation. Four hours later, two doctors came out of the operating room. The two walked toward the doctor with a sympathetic expression. “I’m sorry, we did everything we could to save the patient. Your mother has a traumatic brain injury. Severe head injuries from the force of a car accident caused your mother to suffer brain trauma, which may have resulted in fatal outcomes, and she did not make it.” The doctor explained. Maddox expression hardened when he heard what the doctor said, he’s palms curled into fists, his knuckles shifting white. “What about my father?” Lowe is the one who asks the doctor since Maddox can’t seem to restrain his anger and is about to launch a punch at the doctor. Third person's point of view Sariel's heart began to pound in her chest as fear poured through her bloodstream. “Sariel.” Maddox’s powerful voice rings across the car. “Do you know that my parents are as cold as icebergs right now? As he sees the terrified girl he once loved, he seems to enjoy knowing that his simple punishment is effective. Maddox’s so enraged that it’s as if all memories of the two of them together have vanished from his mind, and what he sees in front of him right now is a total stranger.
