Lyra’s POVThe guards that came along with the elders escorted me to the council chamber. I was surprised, wondering what the urgent summon was all about but when I stepped into the chamber and saw Brenna and Callia already seated, I knew exactly what I was there for. Callia and Brenna’s eyes narrowed at me as I walked in. I tried to ignore their disdainful look, but it was hard not to feel uneasy as it accompanied every step I took my seat. Only then did they look away, snorting and huffing respectively. I sucked in a huge breath. Elder Soren mounted the podium in front of us and looked between the three of us before his gaze ultimately settled on me—and hardened.
