When Lindsay got home, she looked in on her son and found him and the dog exactly where they were when she had left. She went to her bedroom and crawled back into bed, completely exhausted and hoping for sleep. She fell asleep quickly but woke up after about an hour because of a headache. She got up and walked into the kitchen to find something to eat. She decided on a slice of toast as she put on a pot of coffee. She stood in her kitchen, looking out the window. She was relieved that, as she looked outside, she saw nothing out of the ordinary. She finished her toast, took some aspirin, and poured herself a cup of coffee before going onto the porch. She placed the cup and her cell phone on the table next to her chair and then sat down. Lindsay sat, watching the stars. It would still be a couple of hours before the sun came up. Lindsay walked into the sheriff’s department on Monday morning to find Max and Little Bob waiting for her.
