BRONWYNMy hands gripped the steering wheel so tight my knuckles turned white. The Rhiggs estate sat in front of me like the beautiful castle it was. I could see Christmas lights blinking from every window. It looked welcoming but I was terrified at the same time.I hadn't seen Trenton Rhiggs in a year. BRONWYN The blizzard became worse over the next three days. There was no sign of it letting up. I and Trenton used it to our advantage. CHAPTER 8: Dangerous GamesBronwynThe guest room smelled like lavender and old books. I sat cross-legged on the bed next to Eudora while she scrolled through N*****x on her laptop. CHAPTER 10: Christmas ChaosBRONWYNChristmas morning felt like stepping into a movie. The tree sparkled with lights, wrapping paper covered the floor. Mom passed out coffee and cinnamon rolls while Eudora sorted presents into piles. "Okay this one's for Bronwyn. This one's for Mom. Oh, this one's mine." I sat on the couch next to Calliope and tried to feel normal. Trenton was in the armchair across from me. Our eyes met for half a second before he looked away. We took turns opening gifts. I got a sweater from Celeste and perfume from Eudora. Calliope gave me a cookbook with a note that said "For when you get tired of takeout." I laughed and thanked her. Then Eudora handed Trenton a flat rectangular package. "This one's special," she said. "I made it myself." He unwrapped it carefully. Inside was a framed photo of him and a woman I'd never seen
