KAIDA REED POV The sun's rays streaking through the window made me wince. I turned onto my side, a sigh escaping my lips as I burrowed deeper into the cool sheets. "So good," I murmured into the pillow, my hand squeezing the thick fabric before going in search of Zavian.The feel of the cold sheet underneath my fingertip made my eyes snap open and when I saw that he wasn't in the room, I sat up so fast my head spun with it."Ugh, that hurts," I groaned, pressing a finger to the side of my head as my gaze darted around the room. Where was he, and why did everything look so clean?I expected to see a bit of a mess from how rough we were last night—wait, did Zavian clean everything up while I was passed out? Or did he have someone else do it? I doubted it was the latter, because he'd also cleaned me up too.My eyes moved to the space beside me again, a strange sensation burning in my chest as I stared at the empty cold space.Just how long has he been gone?
