Lilith walked slowly beside Lucas. Ever since that minor transformation earlier, her body felt much more sensitive. Lilith could now hear the rustling of the wind sweeping through the leaves, the sound of birds perched high in the trees, and even the heartbeats of Ingrid and Selene, who were walking a few meters behind her. The morning at the mansion felt much calmer than the night before. Sunlight streamed in through a gap in the master bedroom curtains, falling directly onto the large bed where Lucas and Lilith were still fast asleep. Or, more accurately, only Lilith was asleep, while Lucas was simply finding peace in the stillness.Lilith was the first to slowly open her eyes. The morning at the Lucas mansion began with a moment of silence that felt quite soothing. Lilith woke up first. The sky was still bathed in golden hues when Lucas led Lilith out of the mansion. The morning air felt very cool. Dew still clung to the grass stretching behind the mansion’s garden. She had almost forgotten that ever since her transformation began, she hadn’t really practiced controlling the thirst that kept surfacing.
