Marley moved quietly in that direction, her heart thumping fast.She knew it was foolish to follow someone who may be dangerous or armed without being armed herself.She had forgotten to take her pocket knife with her, so now she was left with her fists.She reached the end and turned sharply to the left but saw nothing.She heard it as soon as it moved. The person was clad in an overall black outfit, a black cap on the head, and a black mask hiding the face.The blows came and Marley tried her best to avoid them, then she saw an opening and landed a vicious blow on the side of her opponent.Her opponent bucked forward giving Marley the cue which she took expertly.Her fist landed on the head and the cap flew off revealing blonde hair mixed with red.The hair was long enough to hide the eyes.Marley raised a fist.“Marley?”

Marley pressed her weight on the door, trying to prevent the person outside from getting in.Who the hell was outside?Fuck. The shoving outside was getting intense and Marley's head throbbed.She was weak, but she used all the strength she could muster to hold the door shut.Then she heard a shout outside.“Who the hell are you?”It was Anthonio's voice.The shoving halted and she heard footsteps running.Then another follows.Marley still held her weight on the door unsure of what was going on outside.Then she heard footsteps coming back, then towards the door. It stopped.“Marley?” A tap and the doorknob twisted.Marley let go of the door and slumped to the floor. She was already exhausted.The door twisted open and Anthonio was at her side in seconds.“Marley?!” He held her shoulders and shook her gently.“Stop.” The impact was making her head throb more.He helped her get on her feet and guided her back towards the bed, she laid down in sweet relief, realizing she was so weak.“

“The doctor said you can be discharged by the end of today,” Anthonio said to Marley. He was seated opposite her at a breakfast table in the hospital cafeteria.Marley didn't reply but just picked at the food on the plate.“What's wrong?” Anthonio asked and she shrugged.Then she sighed. “Do you remember what happened last night?” She eventually asked what had been eating her up since.Anthonio's brows came up and he shook his head. “Last night? What happened?”“So you want to tell me you don't remember,” Marley asked.“Remember what exactly?”Anthonio looked confused and Marley sighed.He doesn't remember. “Forget about it.” She shook her head and took a bite from her slice of cake.Anthonio clicked his tongue. “We will be getting married in a week.”Marley's hand tightened on the fork she was holding.“So quick.”Anthonio nodded his head. “It has to be.
