Elian parked the car in front of the old syndicate safe house, a nondescript, heavily guarded building on the outskirts of the city that served as one of their main operation centers. It looked ordinary from the outside, like any other industrial warehouse, but inside it was a fortress of secrets, weapons, and loyal men. He killed the engine immediately, the sudden silence ringing in his ears as he got out of the car, slamming the door harder than necessary. Dex also got out immediately, right on his tail. And before Elian could storm off, Dex grabbed his arm, holding him in place with a firm but careful grip. “Elian, wait,” Dex said urgently,“I know Julian escaping had to do with my father, so calm down.
