Third personThe entire arena held its breath. Thunder roared across the sky, and lightning struck from every direction. Even the pillars that held the chains collapsed with a great thundering echo. Rain was still. He didn't move, and he didn't reach for Cealan, at least, not yet. His mismatched eyes stared at the priest, then at his brother. The Moon was not done answering Rain. The bowels of the sky opened, and heavy droplets poured down in fury. The blazing fire was extinguished within minutes, drenching everything and everyone. Yet no one could leave. They were all rooted to their knees. Rain turned, and it was then that he looked at his mate.Cealan was weak. His eyes still showed courage, but his body was failing. Rain wanted to carry him away, to call for a doctor, but today's incident had to be ended once and for all.
