MENODORA’S POVA scream pulls me back to reality. The last hunter, the one who managed to break through his defense is now dead. The silence that follows is almost as immediate as the fight that just ensued. So does the physical crash that comes right after. Every gasp I take in feels like I'm waging a war against my own body, my lungs burn as they expand against the constriction of my strained chest muscles.A gritty and heavy sensation weighs down on my eyelids and when I try to look closer at him, standing there and breathing hard, blood splattered across his skin, it's almost impossible to focus. I feel a slow throbbing behind my eyes, the first crack of the sun behind the clouds, too bright for my eyes to handle. MENODORA’S POV His expression turns serious again, every hint of playfulness wiped off and in its place is a steely look of frightening determination."You're not the first to tell me I'd get myself killed.”"But at least those people didn't want you dead…or did they?”“Oh, you bet they did." MENODORA'S POVI refuse to rise to the bait he has thrown out for me, choosing instead to stay quiet and let the silence stretch between us like a drawn rubber band waiting to snap. My eyes are drawn to him and I can't help but watch him closely. He's still the same as before, totally unbothered and in control of himself.
