***Emma's POV***I stared at the door long after Daniel walked out. Honestly I don't know how to feel anymore. On one hand, part of me has already given up on him, on trying to make him see me, love me, or even acknowledge my existence. But on the other hand, there's this unsettling dread inside that fears being alone. For five years, I had poured everything into this marriage. I woke up early to prepare his meals, hand-washed his favorite shirts because the washing machine was "too rough" and also personally delivered his lunch to the office almost every day. . *** Emma's POv***I stood there long after Daniel car disappeared, staring at nothing in particular. I checked my watch again, it's already fifteen minutes past six and people are slowly dispersing. ***Daniel's POV***I checked my watch for the tenth time, my knee bouncing involuntarily. It was now 11:00 PM, a full two hours since I returned from the company, yet Emma was still not home. She hadn't come down for dinner like she normally does. At first, I thought she was resting or sulking but after going to her room and knocking several times, I realised something was wrong. I called Mrs. Wilson, but she informed me that Emma hadn’t returned yet. Instantly, my mind flashed back to that disturbing phone call. She sounded terrified, saying some people were after her. I attempted to sit up, but my body screamed in protest. What is going on? Suddenly the memories started rushing back. My heart immediately sank as I recollected everything. Cold sweats broke out immediately as my hands went to my stomach. Blood, I could remember seeing blood. My baby, no it can't be. “Calm down, miss. Your baby is still there,” a deep voice said.I turned toward the sound. A tall man was leaning against the window. He reminded the man I saw before I blacked out, I opened my mouth to speak, but my throat was dry and itchy. The man walked over gently, poured me a glass of water, and held it to my lips.
