The hidden child

Miriam P.O.V. My teleport takes me back to my rooms in court where I know I can’t stay. I scribble a quick note for Henri, let the ink dry and sit magically as my father taught me. Then I hurriedly pack my clothes and the few things that are important to me before teleporting to the safehouse where Hildra is waiting for me. I’m so fucking angry I could murder someone, but that doesn’t help right now, so I have to calm myself down to the point where I can actually be constructive and not just destructive. “What happened, child?” Hildra asks, as I throw my things on the lowest bunkbed. “Athena fucking happened.” I answer with anger in my voice, and Hildra sighs. “She survived then?” She says, her voice void of any emotions. “How the fuck could she survive that?” I ask, getting murderous all over again. “She was supposed to die, and that halfbreed Luna wannabe with her. What happened?” “We will have to wait and see, child. Calm yourself.” Hildra says, her eyes glinting dangerously.

Alec P.O.V.After speaking to the doctors and getting their blessing to have the vampire warriors released from the hospital, I move our party to the downstairs bigger conference room. I do not want them to overexert themselves, and we need more room with more people. I also adamantly told my sister to keep her ass in my pack as long as the High Council members are here. “Alpha Alec, if I may give a suggestion?” Councilman Vulric, who has been very forthcoming so far, asks. “Of course, Councilman?” I answer with a smile as people are finding their seats. “I think we should call for an emergency meeting in the High Council, everything taken into account, and move this meeting to our halls. Athena P.O.V.The atmosphere in the High Council chamber is not as gloomy as it used to be when both Kendra the maniac and Miriam the delusional both resided here. It’s as if the Council is shifting a little, and the tension that used to be here whenever I made myself present, is less than before and even some of the Council members who used to keep to themselves look at me and nod, some even dare as much as a smile. Alec P.O.V.Alpha Emerson is screaming bloody murder, Athena is holding him down magically so he can’t attack anyone, and mom is screaming back at Alpha Emerson just as fouly as he is. Athena P.O.V.“Wait!” I say, trying to get myself under control. Tilly and Christy are both taking this like champs, although I know they are both insanely jealous about Olivia meeting her mate right now. Caspian P.O.V.Moving on just right after dawn, and I can’t help the feeling of being watched from someone in the trees, or maybe the mountain side?
