KAII had been trying Edward's number for a week now, but hadn't gotten a hold of him, which was suspicious. I never once thought about the possibility that he ran after everything went south because I knew the kind of man he was. Edward wasn't the type to run and leave me. He would always stand and try to fight at least before things got overwhelming, which was why his silence didn't sit well with me. I couldn't possibly step out to look for him because Stein wouldn't let me. Mary still insisted we stayed in hiding because things weren't easing at all.
