SELENA’S POV The doctor's medicine left a dull taste in my mouth and a heavy fog in my head. Darcy was pacing around the room like a worried guardian wolf. “The medicine will make you sleep for some time because it's only effective when your body is in total rest,” the Doctor said as he stood up.When the doctor finally left, Talia sat beside my bed, tucking my blanket in properly. “I'm just glad you're okay,” she said in a worried tone but her cold calculating eyes were secretly glaring at me.“Who knew what would have happened if Talia hadn't found you in time?” Her mother patted her shoulder proudly. “You did well, my dear.”“Thank you, mother,” she said sweetly, flashing me a smile that could have fooled anyone.Except me though.When mother and daughter walked out the room, I exhaled and sank deeper into the bed.
